  1. I think Kipre is an upgrade on Tosin defensively. He hadn’t got Tosins ability on the ball but from what I saw he’s a better defender than Lenihan.
  2. The guy on Twitter was pretty adamant. He said anything else?
  3. Starting to get a little excited with this Kipre link now. Imo he’s the most likely. Will live local, low wages, administrators mandated to Get something back so will literally take almost any offer, has best resale value....He will be a cheaper deal than Ayala, Van Dee hoorn or Lindsay.
  4. I’m awaiting the sway in opinions on Williams who will suddenly become Frank Beckenbaur and Mowbray clueless as soon as he’s sold! ??
  5. Ayala is going to be a struggle...wants £45k per week I’ve heard ?
  6. I’d agree. They don’t seem to result in any such sanctions. Why not just crack on. Id hazard a guess that Venkys don’t even fully know what ffp is. in the last fans forum Waggott and TM openly talked about having to “calm” the owners down because they wanted to buy this player or that. It’s the directorship at Rovers which seem concerned with ffp. Unsure why...
  7. Two players bud... Aleix Garcia - Linked CM from City’s academy Eric Garcia - The reason Tosin hasn’t had a look in cb as you described.
  8. I think Davenport is and will be a very assured operator in our midfield. He’s composed on the ball and will recycle possession for us. Of the forward line, I would generally agree with all your points. Which is why, imo that come October, if the likes of BB, AA, Dack, SG, Chapman, Dolan!? aren’t pulling up any trees I fancy him to venture into the market for a last minute, Venkys style forward....
  9. Think you’re thinking about Eric Garcia mate? He’s the jewel in the crown there by all accounts.
  10. Nice mate, thank you. Looks like a free agent too ??
  11. That’s it, I don’t think Hart, Smallwood and Samuel do need replacing. The young lads can do that. Davenport is a ready made replacement for Downing and we spent a lot of money on two lads bought to replace Danny Graham who need to have the chance to do this. The only positions imo which have opened up because of the losses are Gk and cb. Which in fairness, we appear to be on the way to sorting.
  12. I did say ‘like’ Hoffman but if he’s still available at the end of the window his price won’t be anything like €5m
  13. Let’s see how it pans out. In the current financial climate I think a lot of good players will have to lower their wage expectations to get contracts. There’s a LOT of supply in the free transfer pot now and COVID has reduced the demand. The shorter window and financial constraints will mean players have to readjust their expectations. There’s a possibility we might do really well out of that situation.
  14. Absolutely. Needs to be Kaminski, an Ayala, Kipre or Lindsay style cb before Saturday and Cunningham before 12th Sep. I’d be happy with that. Then get the rest on a good deal and replace any sales accordingly. Its definitely a buyers market and losing those 7 out of contract couldn’t have come at a better time.
  15. Hmm I’m not sure. Only clubs with parachute money or a benefactor model (like us) will be spending any money on fees imo. That’s because those clubs outside of the above who run clubs based on affordability won’t have the cash to do it. We have the cash to give Wigan a million quid for Kipre because we have billionaire owners, it’s just how stringently we wanna walk the ffp line. My prediction is that we’ll likely fill the positions we want to and STILL make a Venkys style last minute punt on a striker like Hoffman at the end of the window.
  16. Argh, come off it mate. We cut 6 of them loose and offered Downing a reduced package in order to make room for the players we want. The clearing of ‘deadwood’ has been satisfying to watch. They have been open in saying which positions they want to fill with recruitment and then squad fillers come from the u23’s instead of the Harts, Smallwoods and Mulgrews of this world. Sign one experienced CB along with Kaminski before Sat. Then push to get Cunningham in and basically we’ve got the first XI covered. Then get cover keeper and the squad is basically complete. Get to the end of the window and see who has gone. Mulgrew is expected to go. I don’t think they’ll let Del go until they have another chance lined up
  17. We didn’t sell them mate, their contracts ran out and we didn’t want to renew. i can see why you’re worried at this particular moment but the noises coming from the manager and Sharpe who isn’t bullish unless he’s very confident seem to indicate that the keeper is done and defenders are (finally) coming! The defenders we’ve been linked to are all upgrades on what we have. imo we need a first choice keeper and a cb by weekend and before start of the season at least. The reserve keeper, 3rd cb, lb and CM can come any time before the window closes to help us get the best deals. Having dealt with administrators over the years, if Kipre doesn’t move you’ll get him for peanuts in that last week...
  18. A lot of ifs, buts and assumptions here mate. The loss of Hart, Smallwood, Leutwiler, Samuel and Mulgrew in truth doesn’t even lay a glove on our ability to perform in that league. Even if we have to let both Mulgrew AND Williams go to get Kipre in and say Lindsay on loan with with a view and Wharton as 4th choice, I’m fine with that. We’ll have improved. You gotta have a surplus of cash to go and blow teams over with offers. I’ll be happy to wait on Kipre for a week or two and get him from their administrators for six figures if we have to.
  19. Right, that’s it...I’m off out to put the lottery on!! ???
  20. Ben Brereton scores two and we are about to announce a cash signing, no. 1 gk Plucked from our European scouting network....what a time to be alive! ?
  21. Tbh as long as supporters are supporting their club I have no bones with it. You are contributing to your club and I have every respect for that, genuinely. I appreciate that I replied to you but my intention wasn’t to call you out specifically and I apologise for that. It was an emotive post because I just really struggle with those who won’t put their hand in their pocket but expect the world from others.
