The ‘grow up’ comment was completely justified in context. I’m as far from a Venkys supporter as anyone out there. But I’m able to separate my emotions from facts as an adult does. Ignoring the fact that 4 days later we announced that Downing had an offer on the table, dismissive of pretty good info about possible signings. Forgetting that a week ago Sharpe said we were bidding for players and then neglecting confirmed reports that we’d made a six figure bid for a keeper. ALL of which pretty much confirm there IS a budget. All whilst sat waiting for SW and TM to call us to the town hall and publicly announce “WE HAVE A BUDGET!!!” ??‍♂️?

Which other clubs fans demand the manager and CEO confirm their budget!? The manager stated over a month ago that he still did not have his budget. For around a week we have known that we we are making offers to and for players. Yesterday we agreed a supposed six figure fee for a player and Sharpe is saying that we have ongoing deals being negotiated for European and home based targets. They have a budget. They don’t need to tell us what it is. The end.

Yes, yes, yes!! This is exactly how I feel. It’s just weird that they’ve kept the lights on AND given the manager money whilst not selling his assets! Which give the impression that they DO care, even though we know they don’t.... If you speak to anyone around The club they say the same...like last summer with Jonty and the investment in all that new kit...thousands of pounds...signed off, no problems.

Who said we should be grateful? Have I ever said that, once? The FACT is that they do pay the bills and some (the money they spend is far from the bare minimum)...I don’t know what you’re struggling to understand by that. As I said, leave your hatred of them to one side and look at the whole host of clubs going under whilst V’s just plough another £20m in! It’s weird, it’s odd...it doesn’t mean I like them but I’m intelligent enough to notice that it happens.

Everything in me points to the latter! The more you look at it the more you think this lot cannot negotiate to save their lives! The extended contracts to Mulgrew and Smallwood are scandalous. Must’ve been paying Downing a few quid last season too but now we won’t pay £14k a week for Iversen? Nyambe into his last year now?

That’s it though....weirdly they don’t just pay the bills. They’ve given the manager money to spend and invested in the Cat A academy...why bother? Why not just pay the basics and keep the lights on? I don’t know the answers btw

It’s a weird set up. Always has been...I don’t know how much autonomy Mowbray has but bearing in mind they’ve backed him with roughly £15m in fees and not sold any of the Crown Jewels other than Raya and that was defo Mowbrays decision - I’d say he’s pretty well I’m there, wouldn’t you?

Venkys have been terrible for us. But the FACTS are that they pump £20m a year into us just to keep the wheels turning. For those saying they have to, absolutely rubbish. There’s loads of owners who don’t. No enforced sales...Mowbray has openly talked during his tenure about having surplus money that he’s not spent...

I’ve never spoke to Big Sam about them. Pretty sure that his main gripe was with Kean and JA. But either way his compo package seemed to get paid up nice and Bonny!

Without going back over what went on with those who shall not be named it’s quite clear to anyone with a bit of sense that V’s were sold a pup. Lots of bad decisions and political agendas later we’re still in the shit (and most of it is V’s fault) BUT one things for sure EVERY single time they need to put their hands in their pocket they do....speak to some of those directors if you can. Based on what I’ve heard I’ll guess they’ll prob say, absolutely mental set up but in fairness, they never refuse to pay... Thats why you have Sharpe and Crooke saying in spite of COVid, ffp, no sponsors, no season tickets etc...that Waggot and Mowbray and then club’ seem “relaxed” about the money....that’s because they all talk about the fact that the owners WILL pay when it comes to the crunch
