Yeah, it used to be 4 and 8 in there…just evolution. Weird that Sherwood wore number 4. Cannot for the life of me remember ‘Doris! breaking the play up! 🤣 -

Hmmm…I think you buy into the institution not individuals. When they (the club) sanctioned the club captain being loaned out, mid season there’s a good chance they completely severed the relationship. I would actually prefer Travis to stay and even if JE doesn’t rate him as highly, I don’t think he would want to lose him. -

Sonny is top class. The best 6 we’ve had in years. -

Seems less, him breaking the story and more him following up on Nixon’s report. Either way, I’d expect there to be something in this. Nixon has his finger on the Rovers pulse. (As much as it pains me to say) De Lange, Germain, Kaide, Baker and Unleaded’s marque winger please 🙏🏽 -

It’s an interesting narrative… I think the problem with Trav is that he hasn’t nailed down his job in the team. His core abilities - physicality, shit-housery and leadership lend him to playing as a 6. The problem for him is that Sonny IS a 6 and ticks all the boxes. If you’re going to play two CM’s Sat in front of your defence then one of them needs to be much more technical (think Adam Wharton). This player can defend but their strength is playing on the half turn, taking the ball off the cb’s and starting attacking moves. Trav cannot do this. So, the manager probably wants Baker to come in and be that technical player we need. In an ideal world, we keep Trav and add Baker. If Sonny gets injured, who have we got left at the club that could break the play up? My feeling is that Travis has his heart set on leaving following the club sanctioning his loan last January. Either way, I think we need one, plus Baker if we lose Trav. -

He’s a good player, he looks dangerous and works hard. Like you say, if he can find his groove and start finishing there’s nothing stopping him getting 15-20 goal / assists a season. He just seems like such a great lad too. It was weird being sat so close to the pitch yesterday. I was sat near the the tunnel in the away end and you could hear and see everything. Trav, Dolan, Eustace and Carter came off really well. Constantly encouraging and talking to the lads. Dolan in particular kept high giving the two new lads when he was up with them…seems like a great lad! -

I was watching Dolan last night and honestly, I would offer him some more cash and get an extension over the line. He flatters to deceive and struggles at time for end product but he can play and most of all, he’s “all in”…I know, I’m going soft in my old age! -

We defo need one - with JRC moving further forwards, we realistically have three (Trav, Sonny and Buckley) for two spots. -

Yeah, only time will tell…but both looked promising and more of a threat than Gally ever has. -
The Senegalese Kiefer Moore!! 🤣
-
Yeah, I think we’ve got our eyes on one or two plus Weimann and Gilsenan who I bloody love!!

I cannot for the life of me think why a Spanish side signed him mate!! 🤣🤣 He’s a proper battering ram…I can only imagine the disgust in Spain as he ran around slamming into folk! -

In the videos and that one game last night, I can see why. He’s a threat…he plays in the width of the box and is always in and around the areas you need to be to score once the team is in the last third. Id imagine the reason he hasn’t established himself in the top top leagues is down to his conversion rates. But that’s the perfect profile for us because IF he finds his shooting boots (Like AA, BB & SS did) then he will score a bucket load of goals 🤞🏽 -

Belgian top league = Mill Hill St Peter’s? 🤣🤣🤣 BB had no scoring pedigree whilst AA and SS had only scored in League one. Both had arguably struggled in the Championship. Are you suggesting the Belgian top league is worse than League 1? When you get a minute, watch them play and then judge them…Mill Hill St Peter’s must’ve picked up!! 🙌🏽 -

Where did I say “the goals will come from somewhere”?? I said that the Club obviously recognise they need goals, hence why we’ve signed 4 forwards and are looking at more wingers. Proven goalscorers at any level are a limited resource and hugely expensive. Money that we (and most others) don’t have! -

Read my post, I accept that you need goalscorers. But it’s not as simple as going out signing proven players and AA, BB and SS are living proof of that. -

It’s just lazy opinion from people who see it as a simple formula… Of course it’s a worry to lose goalscorers and they need to be replaced. The club have signed three players this week in forwards positions. (Four including Mafoumbi) and are reportedly after more wingers. So they get it… FYI - we haven’t signed a “proven goalscorer” at Championship level since Danny Graham and yet since then, we’ve had a number of players score lots of goals… Go figure! -

We do need a CM now…Garrett has gone and JRC is made for that more advanced position and to support Brittain down the right. Which means we now have Trav, Sonny and Buckley for two spots. -

It was lovely to see mate. Gally was SOOO passive for years and I’m 100% sure, that he would’ve just worked hard and blended into the background last night if he were playing. Both of the new lads made an impact. They took up threatening positions, moved defenders around and showed instinct! 🙌🏽 Im not saying these guys are world beaters, but it felt like when Brittain signed after years of Nyambe showing us how not to be a fullback, most of us having developed some type of Stockholm syndrome of acceptance and the you watch Brittain and think…”Ahhh so that’s what a good championship fullback actually looks like!” 🤣 -
I’d say it will be one or the other. Though they do very different jobs… Weimann could replace Siggy and offer much more off the left but we need more pace and creativity on that left side for me. I can absolutely see why we sold a Left wing back in Gent this week though. Would not fit that system at all.
-
Agreed… Aside from the obvious signings - GK and cover left back. I feel our season will depend on us getting some pace and guile in…Dembele, Keshinen, Gordon, El Ghazi etc. Sign a couple of decent ones and we’ll have a decent season. Get some crackers in and a midfielder like Ayari and we could, dare I say it, do well.

He got a flurry of chances in the first 15 mins. I can forgive the missed in context…because it was his first game, the first 15 mins of his career and because I haven’t seen a striker for Rovers be in the right place, at the right time for a LOOONNNNG time! Every time we got the ball into the last third he broke into the box. It was so refreshing.
