  1. unfortunately, it may be decisive that no england batsman has managed it.
  2. Gillespies is, as Slater is in the commentry box at the moment.
  3. It IS another one of your relatives who slept thru the entire game
  4. Thoughts on the tour. Saturdays game against Munich was one of the most uneventful games i've seen in ages. However it was certainly a good workout for the players. Brad made a couple of decent saves in the first half, Andy Todd when given a decent chance right on half time made a great defensive clearance instead. Didnt see the 1860 Munich goal, was engaging in cricket banter with Brett Emerton at the time. Derbyshire was sent off after a late challenge, along with Costa who retaliated causing a bit of a melee. Gally then equalised late on, slotting a ball into the far side of the net. Andy Taylor played well, but seemed to pick up a knock as did Craig Bellamy. Some of the 1860 fans took us into Landsberg centre as there was a beer festival on. We had a few beers there before getting the train back to Munich where they took us to the local irish bar they used before they moved grounds. The players had a day off on Sunday where most of the fit players toured Dachau concentration camp whilst the rest had some treatment. The second game was a much better effort all round against a better standard of team. Mallorca certainly pressed forward well and were equally as good at falling over from little pressure. Bellamy and Savage were sitting on the sidelines talking to the fans, Sav thinks he will be back on Saturday. Rovers should have scored early on, but Kuqi headed over. Then Kuqi was fouled after the Mallorca defender climbed over him. Just as a certain other sites admin was saying "Steven Reid seems to have lost the ability to take free kicks", Reid unleashed a thunderbolt from about 30 yards past the keepers near posts. The second came from a Pedersen corner, when Nelsen glanced the ball in from 6 inches. Emerton had a 3rd disallowed for offside, but it was the sort of run and shot we will be hoping for next year. Brad was relatively untroubled in the first half, but the closest came from a Nelsen chest back, but its likely they were more cool about it than we were at that time. Second half was less exciting, Rovers pushed forward well but there were less clear cut chances. Mallorca forced Enkleman into 2-3 good saves later on. The Dickov incident was a case of handbags at dawn. In both games Hughes seemed to resist making changes to the line up in the first half before making intermittent changes in the second half. This may provide some indication of what his likely line up witll be come the first game of the season. Thoughts on a few individual players. Andy Taylor - Played well at right back on Saturday, decent shout for a few games this year, though Matteo replaced him on Tuesday, possibly due to injury. Shefki Kuqi - has a physical presence not unlike our manager had. A few nice touches and he isnt slow for a big lad. Reid/Tugay - showing Savage that he isnt just going to be able to walk back into the first team. Pedersen - getting his set pieces looking dangerous already Nelsen/Todd - first choice centre backs, i'm a bit worried about quality cover. Friedal - had some strange knee strapping, never realised just how much he actually does shout to keep the defence organised. Bellamy - didnt really get enough action, though its obvious his pace will cause trouble even when he is off form. match pics HERE
  5. 7 AUSTRIAN time.. Anyway, currently writing this in an aussie theme bar in St Johann in Tirol. The flag is flying high, but thats only because somebody spotted that a little rugrat was trying to steal it. An annoyed SteB managed to snatch it back, despite his fathers protestations. Pubs shut at 6am here apparently. Hopefully Orvil wont find an internet terminal then.
  6. The ref asked for Dickov and the mallorca 22 to be taken off. This was after a Dickov foul, and then both players throwing the ball at each other. Dickovs reason was "he had bad breath" 3 Mallorca fans there.. all english. One from Clitheroe

    Rovers 2 Mallorca 0

Blackburn Rovers 2 (Reid, Nelsen) Real Mallorca 0 Rovers tonight beat Real Mallorca in their final game of their preseason tour of Germany / Austria. Both goals were scored in the first half Steven Reid scored the first from a free kick after a foul on Shefki Kuqi. Ryan Nelsen added the second to open his Rovers goalscoring account from a Pedersen corner. Craig Bellamy and Robbie Savage missed the game through injuries, but hope to be fit for the Swansea friendly on Saturday Pics to follow on Thursday afternoon.
  8. You mean they want to kill you because you keep trying to take close ups of cleavage. Currently waiting for JPW in the hotel as the bald idiot is lost. P.S the kettle quote was JPW not Jordan..
  9. He isnt so bad now. Last night however he was minging. Especially when having his 5am shower ffs.
  10. It was a scottish bloke called Benny.
  11. What a day Got back to the hotel about 5am. Just got up. JPW managed to put the flag up originally, but by the time the game was half finished he was that drunk we had to ask somebody else. The drummer (the one taking the flag down) had been told that Bellamy refused to sign autographs as he was birophobic. So he went after him early doors saying "Craig can you sign this, its ok its a felt tip". He asked us "What the f are you doing here". obviously thinking we are mad. Lucas Neill was desperate for a sausage but. Matt Derbyshire was sent off for being punched, probably because there was a slight melee. Ended up in Landsberg town centre, as there was a large outdoor beer festival and it was kind of rude not to take part. The local police superindendant made a few visits to check up on us for some reason. We then ended up going with some 1860 and leicester fans to an irish bar in Geisling.
  12. Ground Pics are HERE
  13. They werent kidding about the music. Its a bit amateur really, wont play in my dvd player either. My main complaint is that I wanted a VHS version
  14. Symonds, North, the Husseys.. plus probably 3 or 4 we have never heard of, but will. We are getting it right, but i fear we are a couple of years too early, and we will have a better squad down under in 18 months, but they will also fix the pitches against us. (as we should against them in England, but dont).
  15. babelfish.altavista.com (translates it for you) Its literally just accross the road from the Hauptbahnhof CLICK HERE for a map of landsberg. Look for Hungerbachweg and GartenStrasse. Its between those 2 streets.
  16. Are you certain about that ??? I thought it was a bus from St Johann (2 miles away).. Best bet is to get a taxi from there to the ground rather than wait for a connection.
  17. Its about an hour from munich on the train changing at Amberg. Tell them to get a family pass (up to 5 adults).. www.bahn.de is where to check. Ground is 5 mins away from train station.
  18. CLICK HERE Its near the train station.
  19. Theres an incredible amount of this happening from few people on this thread. DEBATE the issues not decide that somebody is stupid or whatever just because they disagree with you. otherwise you can argue somewhere else.
  20. According to the Morecambe official site tickets for preseason friendlies are all a fiver. CLICKY HERE Perhaps they see a chance to rip off Blackburn fans ?
  21. Agreed.. and i'm sure there are better threads available for people to try to score points against each other. Agree to disagree, but at least show some respect and keep the posts civil.
  22. I was in the middle of the area evacuated. (no jokes please)
  23. There was in the centre of Bradford yesterday as well.
  24. In munich near sendlinger tor from the 22nd to 26th. Hiring a car (assuming JPW gets his act together, which could be a long time), and driving the 100ish miles to StJohann in Tirol for the second game. Flying back late on the 27th
  25. HA HA HA Stitch that froggies. Obviously they have chosen us for our culinary skills
