  1. It wasnt even a croatian, but a Ukranian, and apparently was an attempted robbery. SKY ARTICLE However, if it was the other way around, i'm sure our press would be paying it far more attention this morning.
  2. I'm not convinced he is fully fit. Either that or he doesnt like not being the main man anymore. He did get a fair bit of treatment from the croats tonight, but (like scholes), he showed that tackling isnt his strong point, giving away a couple of free kicks in dangerous areas. Which is why Gerrard is so important to England, he needs to provide that bite in Midfield to allow the others to play.
  3. David James didn't do anything that cost us a goal However, he is still dodgy with crosses, at one point he dropped a corner he had come out to claim which almost led to a goal (he had to make a good save to recover). He also could have insisted that we had a man on the far post for the second goal. Gary Neville has never let England down in the 8 years he has been playing for us.
  4. Whilst Rooney will rightly get a heck of a lot of credit, Gerrard was immense today, Lampard and Owen put in good games as well. Shame about the set pieces, although Campbell and Neville did well througout.
  5. The Red Hot Chili Peppers were as excellent as usual tonight, although they did get a bit up themselves because the support act Chicks on Speed were not that well recieved. For anybody who has missed out, their concert on Sunday will be live on Radio 1.
  6. I've never seen him play, so really have reserve judgement until I the season gets underway. What is completely clear is that there are not a great deal of left wingers/midfielders about, so at times you have to take the best you have available to us. Panic Buys - Gray and Stead seem to be doing alright, Gresko was hardly a panic buy he appeared to be doing a good job for us in his first half season, but struggled due to lack of any defensive cover in front of him. I would also have thought Souness would have had him watched since he was first touted to us. Old player he may be, but gives us 2 years to bring one of our own through, or find somebody else.
  7. Article in one of the papers today (express?) mentioned that 50 french fans were offered money by a (foreign) film crew to start some bother with the english fans. Fortunately they declined and warned the english fans. Some members of the media are desperate for some good old english rioting. Unfortunately our reputation in the past puts it right in the spotlight.

  18. I hope thats true, getting Tugay for another 12 months is about right for both parties. Hopefully he can play well enough next season to put pressure on the club for another 12.
  19. Had a "preview" of Velvet Revolver for a couple of days, not a bad album and one i think will grow on me. Slither isnt my favourite track mind, reminds me of Ugly Kid Joe in their menace to sobriety days.
