The reality is that we are not used to the leaks in recent seasons because we haven’t made any big money signings! Rovers buying Rothwell for 200k isn’t exactly going to command the same attention as £8m for Brereton and hence people in football circles just don’t bother reporting it.

In addition Mowbray says “a couple are edging closer, a couple not”. So where do people draw the fact that Brereton would be the only signing?

People have been moaning on here that TM had been shafted by the owners but when he appears to be getting the cash to spend people are complaining! Absolutely laughable. When people perpetually say “it’s a gamble” it makes me angry. Name a transfer that isn’t a gamble. I remember people saying 12 months ago “why are we paying 750k for a one season wonder”. I was expecting 2 more permanent additions after TM’s comments, but that will be unlikely. When did we last announce 2 on the same day? If we don’t get 2 more permanents in of decent standard I would be pretty darn disappointed.

When Mowbray said something along the lines of “let’s see if the cards fall in the right order” it seems to me we are waiting until the ast minute to see if deals will come off. If they do we may get 2/3 in, if not we may only get 1 and the rest loans, some of those with a view to permanent buys.

We are averaging 110 pages per signing so far. The passion for this club is still alive and kicking!
