  2. broughton seems to be suggesting we have a bit of money to play with 👀👀 and that's without selling bbd.. very interesting indeed..!!
  3. i would imagine that if it is jdt after all of this time, then broughton has come in and got the job bloody done within days. for me, it's an interesting appointment and one that intrigues me. i have no real positive or negative view on it and have an open mind towards hopefully being impressed. it would certainly be points in broughton's corner though if he's come in and got our guy within days after the farce we've seen over the past month. honestly, the lack of communication from the club has created a vacuum and the negative fan opinion that's filled it is entirely of their own making. if they actually gave us some updates along the way, kept us somewhat in the loop and had some, ANY respect for us, that view might have been somewhat tempered. it will be very telling to see who introduces the new man, whoever he may be, when the time comes. i imagine it'll speak volumes on the whole process
  4. if there's a fee on the table for ayala, i say take it and reinvest both the cash and the huge wage we'd save. if not, and it's a cut the contract and run thing, keep him for his last year and use his nouse to guide the younger lads.
  5. exactly, it seems like far too much caveating just to make someone work. especially at this level when coaching teams and budgets are smaller. i could see the reasoning, and it does happen in a director of football model – have a motivating figurehead to lead the backroom staff, with various roles delegated to other coaches. just not sure he's the guy you'd want to do it with
  6. not particularly enamoured by the idea of ferguson, but who knows, he might work as a coach with a decent director of football doing the serious stuff and someone who knows the tactical side alongside him. he's at least a somewhat more interesting name than some of the dross that's been dregged up by the betting odds. either way, i'd prefer someone else, an interesting name no one's mentioned.
  7. honestly, what the bloody hell is going on? i've had a couple of pots, but blimey eck? i can't tell if we have our man (glen) or if we're an absolute shambles with no clue? (ewood). might have to stop checking on here just for the sake of my own sanity!! god, do i hope @glen9mullanis right. anything else is a genuine and proper worry. WHAT are we doing???

  9. christ, they funded ukip?? 🤮🤮🤮 zero business being anywhere near our club if that's true
  10. agree. it stinks of agent stirring, especially the mentions of the supposed wage he has on offer there. he left braga for a reason, and it wasn't to go to the bloody uae! he's a football guy arguably at the peak of his career so far. he's not going there. not for a little while anyway. why would he? he'd push himself right down the list of any future job at this level. look at michael laudrup. built his stock right up at swansea, went to qatar and was never seen nor heard of again. it's an agent trying to carry out contract negotiations in public. ignore!!!
  11. anyone have an idea when the celtic tickets'll be out? was hoping to book somewhere to stay early on while there's still places available, but i've been stung doing that before..
  12. refuse to believe we'll give Ferguson the job. i'm convinced, whether history dictates otherwise or not, that we genuinely want to to give the "right man" the job. the only cock-up possible, imho, is what the people making the decision's view of the "right man" is. i think everything re daniel farke going silent levels of quiet is very telling.. and believe @glen9mullan is very much onto something. if i trust anyone's view on here, it's glen's and he seems pretty convinced. i think farke may just be the one, and will be the "surprise candidate" we've all discussed and anticipated. there's been NOTHING from the interview process leaked bar carvalhal, which stinks of an agent stirring things up for money. first he's coming, then he's going uae, then he's getting ___ much money. stinks of agents. i refuse to be negative until a bad appointment is made. i think mowbray has genuinely given us a bit of stature to many managers in the game, whether you liked him or not. but believe me, the moment a shit appointment is made, you'll hear no more caveats to the club from me.
  13. tbh, with a lot of these young players, the bit part appearances they've had for us don't and should never represent their ability, whether they're good or utter crap. they need a run of games, not to be dunked into side every now and then that's already played however many first team games together. they're never gonna be able to show you what they're about when they aren't part of the rhythm of the side. look at van hecke. he was average, fine for his first few games, ayala beating him into the team, then that sending off really galvanised him and he inculcated into the side after a decent run at the back. poveda was showing similar just before his injury. hedges the same, but he's hardly a young player. young magloire has obviously showed northampton something if they want to bring him back permanently. you can't judge the young lads off being thrown into the deep end. it works for some, yes. but not all.
  14. looking like there's some interest in young Magloire. an interesting one. i remember the days when he was touted as a top prospect for us, had pace to burn and was even slotted in for a few games when we were dry of defenders. isn't he, by quite a distance, supposed to be the fastest player at the club and potentially beyond that? always baffled me that for a centre back. anyway, something's gone wrong the past few years hasn't it. he must have shown something at northampton if they want him back there though. i bet he's one we regret letting go, but, tbf, age isn't on his side at 23 and his contract extension was blatantly just to cover some gaps pre-window/new gaffer and to get a bit of a fee for him.
  15. would take him, but i'm not sure we'd have a need for him with carter, wharton, ayala and potentially lenihan? he's 29 now and has played in this division for most of his professional career, so he could bring us a bit of experience if ayala's lying down again and he'd have the two young lads either side of him.
  16. writes for the sunday s*n, not the daily, is why. hence he'll let things drip out during the week. his bosses probably tell him 'no' and to direct people to the website for sunday bits.
  17. was about to post the very same thing. i've had a hunch parker's mind games were at play here, especially since he tried (and spectacularly failed) to freak tony out before we boshed them 2–0. don't let him win out this time. hopefully joe uses what must be an astronomical amount of frustration to fuel a positive return to the squad now, even if only so he can stick it to parker and bournemouth before heading out the door proper at the end of the season. the boy has some humble pie to eat today. let's see if the lad has it in him.
  18. can have as many loans as you want in your overall squad, but can only pick 5 for a matchday squad
  19. mail linking us with callum brittain. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10390403/Blackburn-Stoke-Swansea-three-way-tussle-Barnsleys-Callum-Brittain.html seems like another agent-led piece.
