would take that with a grain of salt. there's no denial about anything beyond where the story originated. -

wish some players would have some balls and cut ties with them and find someone who truly wants the best for them. someone who doesn't just see them as another piggy bank in their large portfolio of piggy banks. it's astounding to me that more players don't get frustrated with this stuff and just sack them off -

these nyambe rumours absolutely reek of agent bullcrap trying to garner some interest. who's leaking to the72 other than an agent?? all these small newsnow blog sites do is pick up stuff from local papers and spread out every detail as thin as possible over as many articles as possible, each with the most clickbait titles in history to prey on clicks from unsuspecting supporters. footballleagueworld are the same. wouldn't even be shocked if it turned out the same company did both to get double the clicks. ignore -

agree. rothwell needs to keep up this form for the rest of the season before a pl team will see him as an option. he needs to show them what he can do under the pressure of a promotion race. the lad's no youngster at 27. i suspect he's seeing this as one of his last chances at hitting top flight football and is using that as leverage in negotiations. he proves it with us and we (touch wood) go up, he re-signs and continues on the journey. if we don't go up, but he's built up his stock, he can move onwards to one of next season's promotion challengers or a lower rung premier league side taking a punt on him for free. he has nothing to lose. i doubt he'll sign any deal here until he's more sure of where our season is going. -

less picking on him, more trying to give him the necessary push to up his game. each and every player at the club has a personality profile the manager assesses and utilises in his man management of the squad.. he wouldn't go out of his way to make comments about any player out of malice i don't think, i just don't think that's tony's personality, and would be completely detrimental to his aims as manager. perhaps out of frustration yes, but it's more likely just him trying to give the lads that extra push because something in that profile suggests it might just work. same goes for rothwell and look how much he's improved over the last couple of years or so. -

back in the day, when i used to pay attention to scottish football, souttar was very much one to watch. he was part of that insanely talented young dundee united side filled with prospects. he was in a buzz group alongside the likes of ryan gauld, andy robertson, stuart armstrong and gary mackay-steven. they all had magnificent potential, and obviously that resulted in a lot of media hype and pressure; gauld being dubbed the "scottish messi" &c. &c. they all eventually went their different ways to mixed results, from robertson and armstrong in the prem with liverpool and southampton respectively, to mackay-steven in the mls, and gauld in portugal. if he can be even an ounce of the player those in that squad were hoped to be, this would be a fantastic investment imo. believe it or not, andy robertson was never seen as the brightest of that bunch, despite the huge career he's gone on to have. souttar's been held back by his injuries and was taken over by his younger brother harry, but john was always the bigger prospect of the two iirc. i'd love him to come here to be polished up and given the step up to the next level. i can't say a thing about him in recent years though however, i've barely paid any attention to the game north of the border for a good while now. just a bit of context for those unaware 👍 -

we do have this fabled european scouting network, so it isn't outside the realms of possibility that we have people either already within france, or in a neighbouring country that isn't banned from traveling in. someone must be/have been over there looking at maja -

god, that's worrying. can't imagine why we'd be looking at centre backs if we weren't pulling our collars over the fear of van hecke heading back to brighton. let's hope it's just a worst case scenario safety measure so we're fully prepared for all eventualities. -

am also a believer in the idea lenihan could do a job as a holding midfielder. very surprised tony's never dabbled with that one tbh; didn't he used to play there occasionally as a youth? defensive centre mid type? -

HSH? Nathan Jones? -
anything else of note going on at the mo do you know? seems there are bits happening we never know about (positive) but they almost universally fall through (negative). sounds like this window's a bit of a concrete wall. most clubs need players, most clubs need money, most agents want money, but the agents won't budge with their demands. seems we're being left behind as a club with principles regarding agents and their fees and it's costing us dearly.

Seem to remember when we've had thirds before in the past few seasons it was so we didn't play in the home kit away. Would just be consistent with that. It's just a modern marketing ploy to sell an extra kit. Although, some of our recent thirds have just been the season before's away kit. So we might just do that, especially considering the popularity of last season's away shirt?
-
We'll have a third for at least when we play Norwich away, surely?
-
Ahh, cheers.

Hi guys, new poster/long-time lurker... Anyone have any idea what's happened to Joe Rankin-Costello? Is he injured? Haven't heard anything of him in quite a while now. Hasn't played a part in pre-season for the first team this year. Was supposedly one of those knocking on the door last year
