  1. So the fans exist and can be enticed by £10 tickets. Interesting. 8600 ×14.30 = £122,980 ST income 3000 x 22 = £66,000 walk on income or 18000 x 15 = £270,000 Conclusion. Abandon season tickets and the outdated idea they are an attractive offer in 2020. They offer no value for money because a.) The atmosphere is none existent. b.) The entertainment is very poor. c.) The potential customers cannot afford them. Flat rate of £15 per game for all supporters i.e. no discounts for the wealthy who can afford a ST. Membership available at £345 over 12 months at £28.75 per month or £15 per match. Members get benefits such as priority on away tickets, the odd voucher and free entry to U23 games but not discounted match prices. Membership auto-renews unless you cancel like everything else... so people dont have to choose to renew. They have to choose to cancel. None of this silly 1875 nonsense which adds to the "them and us" elite fan mentality. People want to simply be able to go to watch a football match when they want to and always be charged a fair price. If I get in from work 10 minutes before KO I want to go be able to choose to go down without being penilised or ripped off. I am NOT a lesser fan than the person that could decide 2 weeks before. If I am weekly paid & can only afford £20 including a pint, I want to be able to go down and watch my team. I am NOT a lesser fan the person who could afford £400 in one go for a ST in the JW. If the game is on Sky I ideally want to go to the live game and feel the atmosphere in a full stadium. If the Sky alternative is a lifeless empty stadium I will not see the ADDED VALUE of spending £30.
  2. How did we fill Ewood against OXFORD UNITED ?
  3. or hes just a clueless manager
  4. OK. Fair enough.
  5. Sorry Ozz, This is precisely what many have already done. You openly display the Waggott mentality of pay or go away? You mock the suggestion because you prefer going down and sitting in the desolation of 20 thousand empty seats? You mock because you or I can pay £45 in one hit but you don't want those who can't clogging up the half time pie queue? I would have thought they would like to sell 10,000 of these tickets. Not 2000. It means facilitating the purchase by as many potential customers as possible. Working class people from Blackburn ? Otherwise they might as well abandon this ticket now and let the same 2000 pay the walk on prices gaining £43 per person or £86,000. Who cares about attendances anyway...
  6. The more I listen to your posts the more I think you spout the crap fed by the club instead of actually holding them to account on anything. Have you ever asked them what their plan is to fill the 20 thousand empty seats ? Pay 40 quid or take out a membership... that will work won't it. No+No = empty seat
  7. This is a great offer (on the face of it). £15 a game, where Brentford will be on the red button for free on a cold Nov night. £45 is still a lot for some people to stump up in one go. It would have more take up if say it could be paid in 2 installments. i.e. £25 up front (to cover the first game) and £20 before the 16th Nov (to ensure the second 2 games). ? They also need to do something (arguably better) in December as well, when we have 3 more home games. I would say if you have bought the November 3 for £45 then you become eligible for December 3 for £30 otherwise there is a 3 for £45. This would mean you can get 6 games for £75 instead of £150. I don't think anyone can complain at that.
  8. What is key here is that Mowbray set a target of 12 points from the "next 6 games" which were going to be so much easier than the very hard first 6. I would have thought a target of 15 would have been more appropriate... or just getting "3 points from the next game" one by one. So we are sat with 7 points from 5 games. The target is well and truly missed. Was it Mowbray's own target or was it a target given to him ? Is he about to become history or will he explain to us, his exciting new target for the next 6 games. Brum, Nobbers, Owls, Leeds, Barnsley, Brentford. Question is, what should this new target be ? 12 again (mediocrity or an improvement) or less (dumb down further) or more (fantasy) ? What about after missing the 3rd target in a row ? Oh yes the old "lets see where we are after Xmas" routine. Will the fans lap up his nonsense or see this is a complete waste of time ? He better not once use the defensive injuries as an excuse.
  9. We can talk about different theoretical line ups which TM may choose to provide extra defensive cover.... I can see Evans getting a lot more game time, But I really don't see how Rothwell gets a game now.
  10. Apparently the treatment room received a fax which simply read.... "Defenders are coming"
  11. Murphy's Law dictates that Williams will certainly pick up an injury on international duty. Assuming Murphy shows us mercy and Williams doesn't play / get injured, for me we must now go with a back 3. There is no way we can have Bell playing ever again. For me we need to go :- Walton Nyambe Toshin Williams Johnson Bennett Travis Holtby Downing Dack Armstrong (1st 60) / Graham
  12. Sorry Tom. Bell is THAT bad. Like almost barely good is an acceptable standard for Rovers ? Aren't we still waiting for the verdict on the Lenihan injury ?
  13. Haha I was restraining myself from being the first to mention Judan. I'm going for Zinedine Zidane to finally make it to Ewood...and be rubbish and get fired with £25million in compo.
  14. Nothing more to add yer honour
  15. I would prefer a pick your new manager poll. i.e. can we just assume he's going and make succession plans. Someone has to because the owners won't think of it.
  16. Anyone paying attention to the last 3 years will know that TM is simply not going to play a "kid" ahead of one of his senior "men". You or I might do but TM won't. To quote Tony... "for anybody who knows anything about football...."
  17. The least worst = The best
  18. The ultimate answer to increasing attendances is not in the walk ons. It is in getting regular ST holder numbers up. We have 8600 ST holders and 2000-3000 walk ons. e.g. Huddersfield have 18000 ST holders and only 2000 matchday tickets available. The fact that their walk on tickets are limited ensures they are in demand and often sell out. We need to be aiming for these exact numbers. ST holders should generally be supportive of every effort to get more bodies in the ground and improve the experience you get for your ST money ? i.e. the value for money of your ST goes up pro rata if the ground is full and has a great atmosphere ? It isn't a race to the bottom Paul.
  19. Yes. All matchday prices went up by £3 and STs were frozen. Based on Riverside £19 is now £22 £22 is now £25 Then there was the creation of the rip off A+ which is a massive £36 or £40 in the BBE. The emphasis is on improving the value for money of the ST, now worth 10 free games. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2019/july/matchday-prices-2019-20/ But if you still can't afford a ST or you will miss lots of games so don't find it worthwhile, it doesn't address the 20K empty seats. That's why sales didn't improve.
  20. Disagree 100%. It doesn't matter a jot how many years you had a ST. You pay your money like everyone else for the upcoming season or you don't go. The money is needed to run the club ! So what about the folks who have been going for 60 years or 50 years or 40 years (like me). Should we not be getting a discount just because we no longer have a ST ? There are 20,000 empty seats. Do you realise that or not ? There is a need to find new ways to bring new or lapsed or fans into the ground regularly. Why ? To improve the atmosphere and balance the books without having £15 million added to the debt every year. Giving pats on the back and discounts to the existing 8600 ST holders is the opposite of what is required.
  21. 1. We did get what we deserved in those games. 2. It's 1 week resting and 1 week training. 3. Complete bollox. Needs to stay off twitter and concentrate on his positional play, work rate and leadership skills.
