This is exactly what I think too, which will again point to them not prioritising increasing attendances. Although the December tickets have not been announced yet so we can only hope they have something planned.

Woosh

Abolish surcharge for second half of season (compare data from ticket sales at end of season, publish, set next seasons policy accordingly) Cash Turnstiles or at least Contactless Turnstiles (no staff required) Unreserved seating sections Free or subsidised buses from nearby areas with priority in / out access Get the nearby carparks re-opened Flexi ST options (10 game unreserved seating for example) Reboot slogan locally - Fill Ewood - On our way back - Taking back the pride of Lancashire - Move over Burnley Targetted advertising on new initiatives to the lapsed ST holders (I never get anything from them). To those who went to Oxford game. To those who show buying an odd ticket. To those who buy away tickets but not home. Isn’t this the purpose of the much lauded database ? 2 or 3 game (or both) ticket bundles for Dec / Jan period !!!! on sale now !!!! buy 4 Xmas, includes free pie voucher if buy before date x. post game, kids meet the players sessions - fiver announcements on the scoreboard - tenner Promotion Pledge for next season’s STs - and on sale EARLY Xmas giveaway - spend 30 in the clubshop get a fiver off your next home ticket (costs them nothing to fill the empty seats but extra £££ spent in the shop plus matchday spends) They like a 5 minute Warning don’t they ? What about random ticket push unexpected 24 hour offers ???? 5 minute warning - Sheff Wed tickets buy 1 get second for 20 - next 24 hour only 5 minute warning - Bolton home tickets buy 1 child ticket get 1 free 5 minute warning - Waggotts giveaway - buy a ticket for Wigan home game get a 5er voucher off your next home ticket 5 minute warning - Operation Fill Ewood - Buy a ticket today and get a half price pie & a pint voucher The only limitation is the imagination of the club ! or maybe I am missing the point ?

Agreed ! How much were those fireworks ? Did the money come from the owners or the attendance tax ? I think I will take exception to none tax payers watching them for free just because its the opposite to the view of the sane majority. ?
-
Of course they want both but which of the 2 is their PRIORITY ? Actions and inactions all point to the money.... not the fans. Do you agree with the surcharge , yes or no ? Do you want more fans to attend, yes or no ?
-
Nothing further to add, yer honour

They have a big empty stadium. Easy to have sections of unreserved seating. In the old days you got down early to secure your usual spot on the terrace. It was normal to see the same faces in the same places. I have never once sat in the seat on my ticket. I just find an empty seat... there tends to be a few thousand of them. Now wouldn’t it be great if there was some of that flexible and innovative thinking to fill some of them.
-
correct If their PRIORITY was to increase attendances there would be no surcharge. As well as a raft of other simple initiatives. If their PRIORITY was purely £££££ then they would come up with daft ideas like a surcharge. Fans want to increase attendances. The club sadly, do not.
-
Vote Miller ! ?
-
The discussion is not about the 800 who attend and don’t care or realise about the surcharge. It is about the 10 or 100 or 1000 who would attend if there was no surcharge. There are many ideas on this thread from passionate ROVERS FANS many who are not going regularly or at all. Are the club taking note or just ignoring the issue ? The Leeds game with early KO had a surcharge the whole day. I chose not to go because of it. If I was the only one then fair enough.
-
like I said. Mr opposite. Proven beyond doubt.
-
Josh, please can we have a poll ? Do you want to increase attendances at Ewood ? yes no debating ridiculous surcharges which may stop 1 additional fan or family attending, suggests either I have lost touch with sense and reality... or Biz and Chaddy are fake fans who just want to be “Mr Opposites”.
-
Agreed 20,000 empty seats... Thread is about increasing attendances which starts with 1 more, 2 more, etc fans. Those arguing for the surcharge or attempting to justify it, clearly prefer attendances to remain the same. Strange POV
-
As I have said before, this is really simple. The club either want more to attend... or they don’t. If they want to increase attendences, they (Waggott) would setup a task force to work on this specifically ( which could include a few fans, god forbid). There is no silver bullet. They would write down all of the ideas. Many in this thread alone. Discuss them all. Action ALL of the good ones. Every idea worthy of 20 more in the ground is worth doing. Result - higher attendences. If they don’t want higher attendences, they will do nothing. Result - nothing. I think their true stance on this is pretty clear.

Thats because the club want to charge an extra 3 quid tax for walk ons. I would be there and I guarantee a few hundred more as well. -

last week I got home early and got to the ticket office at 11:20 different each week depending where I have to go and how long the job takes. If I buy in advance I may not make the game at all. Surcharge for walkons with half the stadium empty ? -

Just got in from work. Waggott walkon tax preventing me from going today even though its hours before kickoff. ?? -
take the seats out and make the Riverside safe standing terrace at Riverside prices.
-
Agree Totally
-
complete bollocks Chris Especially due to the matchday Waggott Tax

The lad did well yesterday. Just wished he had smashed that in the net. For himself as well as the supporters who endured a very poor game. Not a criticism by any means.
-
what if 2-0 up wins the match and is better than a corner. An instinctive striker would have had nothing in mind except smashing it in the net. A Shearer or a Rooney... or a Haggis would not be out muscled and fail to get a shot away. Although having got the corner he and Dack did superbly well.
-
Thought Smallwood played well. Perhaps he has settled into the Champ now after looking out of his depth early season. Palmer - rubbish and a liability
-
He did what was asked of him yesterday. 10 minutes lad, get out there and influence the game. won a penalty and helped keep the play in their last third. I just wished when he was running through on goal he could have gotten a shot away and “broke the back of the net”. I couldn’t help think that Shearer would have done.

Hoping I can manage to get down before 12 to get a ticket. Otherwise it’s a no go as I WILL NOT PAY A £3 surcharge. Touch and go with work. Will be really pissed off if I miss out because of the Waggott Tax !! 3-1 win tomorrow
