Go there full of confidence, Preston are a bang average ugly side with shit discipline, little pace little quality. Over the last 9 years they have had far too much luck with us, only 4 wins against them, every result bar the 2 4-1 defeats they haven’t deserved, 2 last min equalisers (one being entirely our own goal) and a last minute winner, we e had no luck over them it’s time that changed or we give them gobshites a beating -

Look at Birmingham…. Was dirty and depressing before now the new owners have tidied it up it looks brand new…. I guess it’s down to budget but should never have been allowed to happen, if we do make the PL it needs a good makeover and hopefully the depressing looking riverside gets replaced at some point… eyesore especially since they put the camera gantry’s up there, hate that it’s so far from the pitch too and different coloured seats makes it look worse than it should be -

Yeah said since last year PA system is outdated sounds horrible and barely heard, the announcer just isn’t suitable for the job, he bores and cringes me to death, sounds like somebody that should be reading out the latest offers at a supermarket not inspiring and entertaining a football crowed… Neil used to do that job -

Obviously knowing cantwell isn’t match fit wouldn’t it been wise to have give him 60 mins against Lyon for the 21s other night ? Would have gave the new keeper the game too to bed in as Barrett was crap anyway. time we humbled the knobbers now, had far too much luck against us over the years bar two games, horrible ugly team every year, they have discipline problems for sure… they are walking cards so rovers should exploit that. Todays showing should shift the extra 1k tickets with ease -
If wba wanna gamble that’s on them, we did that and look where it got us ? You fail to go up then your budget cuts year by year which lead to an embargo then a cheap manager appointment then relegation, wba owner isn’t the most popular as it is nor a great owner he’s obviously stupid enough to gamble the clubs stability completely while trying to win fans favour…, doesn’t mean we should do the same, common sense and facial stability is number 1 priority especially after what we’ve been through the last 14 years

He improves us in depth for sure, to have a decent enough squad to compete on all fronts so to enable comfortable rotation you need 4 cm’s at least, a direct swap for every position, jrc had to get cm against blackpool to enable rotation and look what happened. So yes he will improve us. I believe it’s also a Travis situation cause of the manager at Stoke

Jdt did not understand the derby first time round, he put out a shit team then tried to outplay them and the mistakes oozed out while keeping the Wharton bros on the bench. He learnt second time round but despite a dominant rovers performance our lack of cutting edge and a world is seperated us -
I’m same, dingles coming up we need our main 11 rested so I would go for a changed 11, dosent mean your not taking it seriously it’s about the mentality that counts, Mowbray put strong teams out in cups but with a friendly mentality. these lads need to get minutes in too and if they are good enough for a championship squad they are to beat blackpool

With szmodics gone I would go pears brittain hyam carter pickerong Travis Tronstad JRC Dolan Hedges ohashi subs, Hilton, bath, McFadz, deru, Buckley, Sigurdsson, Weimann, gueye gueye isn’t ready to start in my opinion. felty much better than last season but I always say a good depthful squad will have 22 players = 2 teams, so the first 11 can be replaced directly without having to move players about. gk: better more consistent than pears needed left back: to compete/ backup for pocketing cm: a healthy squad needs 4-5 cm’ds with several roles which we are in need of a box to box at least wing: hedges, siggy: Weimann, jrc are our wingers but that’s not good enough, siggy and hedges are no more than impact subs/ rotation nowhere near consistent enough to be relied upon to be first choice so at least one winger is required. so ultimately 3 players definitely needed to be effective gk, lb, winger, but another cm at least would have us healthy looking to be able to compete in all comps effectively -

Derby finished 2nd in l1 and Oxford won the play offs who Norwich lost too, no team is to be taken lightly in this league -
The thing I will always credit jdt for is the fact he took the cup seriously, after years of its neglect especially from Mowbray losing to Lower league teams regularly even not bothering against Burnley it was refreshing to see us going for it, no defeats to lower opposition. Would like eustuce to maintain a good attitude for it especially given we are unlikely gonna challenge for promotion so why not a good cup run ? League cup 1st two rounds are a bit meh cause you don’t tend to get exciting draws but get through them and we may get a big team down in the 3rd round

For a friendly and a first one at that it was excellent, already an improvement in football, back to basics none of this PL wanna be nonsense Mowbray and jdt had us playing, Gallagher even looked like a striker actually making runs down the middle rather than going wide with nobody to aim for central. deru was excellent as most of us know he’s an upcoming right back so also provides good cover too. Gamble looked solid even gent looked class… for the first time in how long we’ve a winger who wants to beat his man and get it in there, as pointed out eustuce loves out and out wingers and has made wingers a priority in the recruitment this summer, we’ve not had that since Conway left and Mowbray went with that stupid wide forward system thinking he’s pep playing brereton and Gallagher out wide so it’s good to know we are getting back to effective basics being the championship team we are rather than trying to be fancy when we simply don’t have the resources to be. Ref was a total wanker did not letting the kid back in in a pre season game when he also didn’t stick to the rules of not making bookings for nasty tackles by Stanley platters inc keeper when vale was clear. all in all plenty more talented youngsters coming through, I always say it but our academy is our saving grace, we’ve got players in abundance coming through more regularly looking like they are up to this level meaning we don’t have to be as lucky or good in the market in terms of back up and squad filling like others with crappy academies, saves us a lot of money in the process and makes us money too. also was told by somebody who in well informed from the club that gregg broughton wanted to make leo our highest paid player on 20k a week until he was told to lower it to 8k or put him back on the plane so let’s be thankful he’s gone…. Also he was obsessed with Maguire yet eustuce sent a scout to watch him and was unimpressed… said he’s a big lad that should play like one instead tries to play like szmodics so we may have dodged a sniper bullet there and shows how incompetent broughton was

Hear hear! Can’t stand that attitude it’s the attitude Mowbray had, remember that 1st round against Wigan we didn’t bother so we expected us to really focus on promotion and we still fucked it go back to 2002 the cup was probes seen as a distraction by many alike this poster even in a relegation battle most the season and we won the league cup that actually kicked us on from there And we finished midtable in the end 06/07 did well in Europe, narrowly knocked out by the best team to drop out the champions league yet still got to the fa cup semis again unlucky to not win that and we finished 10th a win tonight will give everyone a huge boost and another quarter final where we could draw a big home or away Tie, imagine getting city or Liverpool down ewood full house ? Or even at their place ? Should always respect the cups they can turn a boring season into a decent one

Don’t get the moaning ? Eustace first objective is to keep us up regardless of brand of football, people were moaning about jdt’s football and rightly so that got us nowhere, you can’t play city style with championship or lower standard players, plus intense training system that has clearly contributed to ridiculous amount of injuries, also on top of that he moaned about needing experience yet loaned two of them out who are also academy lads cause he had fallen out with them then he’s gone a month later so travis sitting on the Ipswich bench is a waste when we need him now more than ever, Buckley coming back is a god send cause imagine if he never got injured in Sheffield and was still there ? Our midfield would be piss weak only tronsdad as a decent player. First thing any manager worth his salt knows is you tighten up your defence then worry about the other areas that’s what he’s doing. we ain’t gonna see the best of eustace until next season, it’s about getting the basics back and building the foundation to move forward, Travis back in summer to reunite with Buckley is already gonna make our midfield look a lot better, biggest thing I criticise jdt for is leaving us short cause of his ego, Travis as option could have seen us best Preston alone. gilesnan is a long term replacement for szmodics too. the 532/352 is what’s best suited to us, we’ve no decent out and out wingers to play a winger system our squad is bette suited to wing backs, brittain and Pickering are not the best defensively especially on a consistent basis so they tend to look better knowing they have that cover to be able to do their attacking roles. Gallagher stays on then we need a couple strikers, you look at why pne are solid in this league and flirt with play offs a bit is cause they have 4 decent goalscorers as strikers that’s what’s gathered my attention and what we need, Dolan isn’t good enough in any position tbh or at least his consistency is poor so I would rid of him n the summer for cash, Leanord Garret, semir needs loans out, deadwood like Markanday out too. I don’t know about you guys but would like to see mcfadzean stay on as player defence coach beyond the summer which leaves us with defensive options Wharton, hyam, Carter, o’riordan, mcfadzean which is much healthier than over the last so many years and well balanced -

Harsh on Leanord he’s a good goalscorer chips in with a few just needs further experience so needs a loan, semir is another brereton it’s gonna take him time to get up to scratch -

Nobody else think our injury record is down to jdt and his over working ? Intense play intense training system and 6 day training week ? Obviously has took a toll on this team all season -

One things for sure a 352/532 is best for us seen as we have no out and out quality wingers and brittain looks better as a wing back so he’s not relied upon to do both trades and hedges holds his own at wing back -

It strictly true in regards to getting results at deepdale we haven’t lost there in the last 4 visits, last year we only drew cause of a freak OG we win 4-1 and 3-0 before then lost 3-2 and 4-1 3-2 the years before and won 2-1 before that, our record at deepdale is t bad at all it’s ewood where we struggle but Preston are a bogey who 8/10 get undeserved results against us, the only times you can say fair enough is when we lost 4-1 all the others they didn’t deserve what they got, again at ewood the only time they deserved the result they got was the 4-1 which was cause we was that bad the rest they either scabbed an undeserved win or even draw they get the rub of the green a lot against us -

Jdt has fucked us by getting rid of trav only to leave a month later when we could have done with Travis especially today, Garret came on meant holes in the middle appeared which allowed Preston freedom which lead to the goals. Eustace just has to get results, he has no time until the international break to put any of his ways onto the team so it’s about just getting results, don’t think we will see the true ways until next season, like with Birmingham he came in stabilised even then had then Sitting pretty until the yanks had a blunder. Buckley coming back may just give us that boost too. the court case is next month so hopefully the Indian government sting the venkys into enforcement of selling us -

Great to see Buckley and Wharton are back Saturday, too early for Buckley to start I’d imagine but would like to see Wharton slot into his best position on the left of a back three hedges at wing back -

As said above I’ve never know a rovers side to be so soft, easy for bang average teams like Preston to bully us, this team lacks spine. We’ve lost our real creative source too and not replaced him which is what makes things look even greyer, not optimistic about this at all, our derby record has been piss poor since we got relegated to the championship originally. Preston are by no means a good side but are organised and hard working but as pointed out above again they would be more suited to playing jdt, this is the game that will really show how the new coach really is, taking these gobshites down a peg or two on Saturday would be a real statement -

Exactly they are a shitbouse team always have been, at ewood we battered them yet they still manage to shithouse it, only twice since we started playing them again in 2015 you could say they deserved the win which was the two 4-1’s but we was piss poor in both so not hard, the rest they haven’t deserved any of the results they have had against us. Very true that this game would suit them more against jdt, Birmingham played some good stuff but they are a better footballing side than Preston, Preston are just typical championship cloggers and grafters, poor side in terms of quality but know how to grind a win. a pne fan I know says they can only play for 60 minutes before they tire so I said it reminded me of mowbrays rovers… we could never do 90 minutes under him
