  1. you mean this one!!!!!!!!happy days indeed
  2. the play off game against chelsea in 1988,the old riverside has benn demolished and the new one had`nt been started, there were loads on the hill, the morning of the game hundreds of chelsea fans were drinking outside the moorings and jumping in the canal(it was a hot day)even so jumping into that stretch of waterway is`nt and was`nt the best advice😷
  3. cameron stewart, another completely pointless loan signing who did **** all apart from pass to dunny to score against the dingles in the last minute
  4. can`t recall dave gregory kevin arnott was class but way out of our price range at the time
  5. don`t think they were counting at the turnstiles judging by the crowd and did`nt everyone look the same in the 50`s!!
  6. yes,a skinny, lanky centre back back, one of don mackays plethora of youth players who he picked in the 1990/91 season, collier, shepstone, skinner, johnrose and dewhurst, frankly, skinner, shepstone and collier were not up to it,only lenny and bob dewhurst held their own, when the don was sacked jack walker had taken over and had bigger plans, lenny went to pne and i think dewhurst ended up at hull then exeter, though never likely to be a top player, bob dewhurst did an ok job,i do remember him clattering a young david james who was playing for watford, sparking an all out brawl, adding the spectacle was the blackburn end who were given free applause bars ( a new chocolate bar) half where eaten and the other half got thrown at david james😆
  7. anyone remember diego maradona`s son apparently signing for us😅,last i heard of him he was on trial at dunfermline, obviously did`nt inherit his dads football genes
  8. im`e really struggling to think if there was a more disliked footballer than el hadji diouf🙂 only one that comes close is gary neville,a complete **** and always will be on another unpopular name and a team mate of the terminally crap ashley ward, darren peacock,im`e not sure if he was carrying some kind of serious injury that was`nt picked up ecause he moved like an 80 yr old
  9. we can`t keep changing formation every week,we don`t have the players who can adapt to that, just stick to one 3/5/2 at home and away,in away games sit a bit deeper and hit them on the break, stop this stupid passing out from the back as well,it just leads to trouble, confusion and the opposition pressing you more and more
  10. chris sutton started off as a promising centre back, once he was tried as a centre forward it was found he was better there
  11. there was`nt a snowballs chance in hell that the lad would have signed under mowbray and venus,he would`nt have got near the first team, neither would adam wharton,it took scott wharton 3 seasons and muliple loans to get in and travis only got a chance because of injurys, even then he was ignored for months after getting sent off, jury is still out on jdt but to his credit he does give the young lads a chance
  12. i think jdt sees him as to lightweight and will only use him as a sub, those two appearances against reading and sheff utd were shocking,he really did disapear, you might as well have had one of us on the pitch,at least we`de have put our foot in a few tackles, travis and morton are a good combo, the luton debacle was all on jdt and his lack of tactical action, they were running through us
  13. no,he`s big and pretty mobile,he would be a massive handful up front,we have four good centre backs so stick him up front, once he starts scoring the premiership lot will be on the phone with telephone number sized bids,he`ll be our 20 goal striker!!!!!!!,outside box thinking works sometimes
  14. big lad is`nt he,reminds me of chris samba in the build dept, stick him up front imo
  15. jimmy quinn was a monstrous header of a football, the rest of him was clucking useless though🙂
  16. impressive that east terrace at the valley, must have held 30000 easily
  17. we used to get chucked out of the darwen end when liverpool, utd and everton turned up,after the burney vs blackpool game which ended in violence,im`e pretty sure the old bill won`t want it kicking off, like iv`e stated before, this derby is going to be very testy, there is a dark tone towards it
  18. wonder if swag is actually aware it`s a derby, soon as he realises it will be 40 quid a ticket😒
  19. judging by the general feeling of all the rovers fans i know, the derby is everything this year, everyone is well up for it,going to be fierce, unpleasant and not one for granny or the kids, every headcase in east lancashire will be attempting to get a ticket, pretty sure we`ll be getting the whole cricketfield stand and the dingles will be getting the whole darwen end, minus the segregation
  20. iv`e conviniently put all those players who appeared in those dreadul few seasons out of my head
  21. he soon dismembered that side did`nt he,only took him half a season to get rid of the ****houses and mercenaries,we were promoted the next season😆
  22. id`e take the sacrifice, stewart is target man type who can hold the ball up and contribute goals, gallagher can`t do that well and i don`t know what hirst brings(though he still does`nt look match fit)stewart more like a mobile danny graham, what we need imo
  23. he did actually and was apparently turned down very arrogantly by him, when lineker left barcelona brian clough enquired about signing him for forest and got the same reply, not a very nice person off the screen and the pitch
  24. 😅rod stewart is well past it,id`e take that ross stewart definately,as mowbray hates centre forwards there could be a good chance of him coming here
  25. oh yeah, though i don`t think he`s going to swap the south of france for east lancashire
