  1. It makes me sad that such an important part of our community is being run into the ground, especially as we prepare to celebrate 150 years of the club. If I had the money I would do something about it - but I probably never will. I used to be a season ticket holder but I'm currently 3500 miles away, so not an option at the moment. However, If I lived back at home I would love to occasionally attend games again with my old friends and family, not to support venkys though. As a side note I've noticed that anti rovers/venkys posts are being deleted on the official Facebook page.
  2. Fan of the reserve team!? They must be few and far between!
  3. I would spend Eustace's 750k on the best coaching set up we can get for 13 games, with millions in a promotion bonus if they succeed. Not too much to lose if they fail. The whole squad needs rebuilding in the summer anyway and this can then be done with a longer term coaching setup.
  4. Maybe I've missed it but there is an Italian striker in Germany whose very highly thought of and will be sold before his contract ends in summer 2026: Nicolò Tresoldi from Hannover 96. Nothing about Juventus though unless they also want to sign him.
  5. This is a league one standard game. They can't shoot and we are missing some quality
  6. I would guess if you remove the parachute payments teams the level would be fairly similar in quality. Maybe slightly lower but games between teams should be competitive. Overall attending matches is a really good experience. Cheap tickets, beer and bratwursts, great fan involvement in running the clubs.
  7. Comfortable victory today. Looked very solid at the back and showed a few nice passing sequences. Another 115k prize money in the coffers too. Hopefully get a more exciting draw in the next round
  8. Wow that's crazy if true. Could get 2 championship players for that, or Dolan + 1.
  9. Despite all the issues discussed in this thread we are on course for our highest average attendance this season since relegation! Over 16k average and a few big gates to come too... 19th in league https://www.transfermarkt.us/championship/besucherzahlen/wettbewerb/GB2 Highest since 11/12 https://www.transfermarkt.us/blackburn-rovers/besucherzahlenentwicklung/verein/164
  10. As Telalovic has been brought up, he's doing really well in a poor bundesliga 2 team! Hope we have a sell on clause with him. Strange how he's doing so much better back in Germany and at a similar ish level to the championship.
  11. Dele Alli? He will probably end up at a championship club
  12. Just seen today is the 700th consecutive match day squad, so that answers half of the question. Must be a while without a starter though.
  13. No academy graduates starting today. When was the last time that happened!?
  14. Interesting read. https://www.theguardian.com/football/article/2024/jul/07/why-are-bournemouth-fulham-and-brentfords-womens-teams-so-behind Seems like we are, along with Reading, one of the few clubs that's bucking the trend.
  15. That's a shame! I was hoping to catch a game whilst visiting home
  16. Is there likely to be another friendly game squeezed in between Stockport away and the Derby game at the start of August? Don't we usually have a 'big' name home game before the season starts?

  18. Imagine buying a season ticket for the women's team after today's revelation....
  19. That is awful and is up there with one of the worst things I've read during the Venky period. So a significant portion of our income comes from the clubs award winning charity!? Surely, this isn't normal and doesn't happen at other clubs.
  20. It looked like we were making good progress developing the women's team. Highest ever position, record attendances and I assumed closer to going full time than 9k a week for 30+ hr?? a week job. I'm not sure how the figures stack up, but the wages of a team in the 6/7th league in Germany won't be far off, with similar crowds and presumably less sponsorship than Rovers. Maybe there are appearance related bouses too. Eitherway this decision has destroyed the team and we would do well to avoid relegation this season.
  21. not sure if it helps, but the menu icon the on bottom right of map lists available seats per segment
  22. Looking at the average attendances over the last 15 years, we have the highest since our prem league days. Not sure how the away fans influence this number though. Of course its only a minor increase and a lot less compared to almost every other comparable team in the country. I would be happy if they took 2 million from the sale of our local boy and knocked it off the price of season tickets for the local fan base.
  23. I hope Johnson is now in change. Another point to add to the list of things wrong with this team is our attempts at long throw ins. The fullbacks wind up like Rory Delap and it barely makes the edge if the 18 yard box
  24. Just seen that the game has been added to ESPN in thr US.
  25. Hoping for a 2-0 win. Sammie and Dolan to score. 19k attendance. I still think we will survive this season whatever happens tomorrow.
