Got to admit, I agree with you. My housemate is a City fan (Former Rovers ST holder. Another Story...) and we were saying that Burnley were playing well and look like they have enough about them to stay up. It all depends on if the rot sets in. A few losses and confidence is lost or the novelty of playing in the premier league is over and it feels like more of a struggle than an opportunity. Seen it happy many times. Although very rarely after a good performance like they the Dingles put out (despite the score of course).

23/24 kit; is a new sponsor needed?
Cuppliance replied to alex l's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Ranking every Championship home kit of the 2023-24 season (msn.com) Just seen this article ranking every championship team's kit. They seem to priorities the sponsor over anything else when ranking. What do people think of Blackburn's placing on the list? -
My dad is a Leeds fan. He's never let me forget about that. He told me the Rovers fans around him were saying they wanted Harte to take their free kick for them when Rovers got one outside the box.

Rovers fixtures 23/24

I've forgotten what a home match at 3pm Saturday feels like. Two in a row is very welcome. Don't let sky notice that though. They will find a way of changing it. -
23/24 kit; is a new sponsor needed?
Cuppliance replied to alex l's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
The first halved kit was navy blue and white but yeah, majority of the kits after that were light blue. I personally like it. There was the kit used for 2019-2020 that I remember being lighter than normal but no one seemed to care too much. I guess it was because it was darker than the sky blue of the previous season. I do love that sky blue and white halves with the white shorts and navy socks though. -
Rovers fixtures 23/24
Cuppliance replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Exactly. The only time sky use premier league winner tag with Rovers is when they want to rub it in at how far we've fallen. "Blackburn Rovers are now the first team to have won the premier league and then play in League One". They hadn't mentioned Rovers being former PL champs for years before that. -
23/24 kit; is a new sponsor needed?

We are getting a new sponsor by the looks of things. Richard Sharpe has posted about it on twitter although it's not confirmed to be a new sponsor. -

Don't forget about the new poorly fitted, Dad-Bod enhancing, new Macron shirt. Oh the joys... -
v Luton Town (h) - 1/5/23

What I found frustrating following the Armstrong sale was that we started to play counter football compared to the possession football when we had him. Imagine how useful Armstrong would have been in the season after he left. The lad could run! -
Happy St George's day
Cuppliance replied to roverandout's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I felt like Sunday was more of a 'Phone alarm test day' than 'Saint George's Day'. Sad really. They decided to do that alarm test on the 23rd April as though it was just any given Sunday. -
I tell that one to Burnley fans. I say they used to be called Burnley Rovers and they played in horizontal blue and white halves. Probably copying off Blackburn then they copied off Aston Villa as they were a successful team at the time. They hate it and they might as well be sticking their fingers in their ears saying "blah blah blah can't hear you!" when I explain it.

Yeah I have to agree with that. I saw on the Reading's fan forum that they have a thread called 'record watch' and basically they are quaking at their boots that Burnley may take their record points total for the championship. Not an exact quote but they have been saying that Rovers are their only hope of stopping it. Not all heroes wear capes I guess.

v Reading (h) - 15/3/23, 7:45pm
Cuppliance replied to arbitro's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Great win last night. Still buzzing about it now. The thing that disappointed me was that we allowed Reading to gain confidence and get into the game. That confidence came from that fact that they should have been at least 3-0 down but found themselves still only trailing by 1. Not going to take anything away from Joe Lumley, he pulled off some great saves and kept his side in it. Still though, win is a win and being pegged back allowed us to show our character to take back the lead. Under Mowbray we would have got a draw at best in that fixture as he would of slouched and shrugged. -

Haven't got any stats and I'm going off recent memory (which can be dodgy mind), but we seem to play Reading in mid week games a lot. It's happening twice this season. -

I know a few neutrals that have got tickets for tonight's game. £10 a ticket for live championship football is an appealing prospect it seems. I think the club offering this promotion can only be seen as a positive and that's despite seeing a few opinions that have somehow turned it into a negative. Maybe 'The Halo Effect' could be at play there. -
Remaining fixtures - Predictions
Cuppliance replied to Sweaty Gussets's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Before the Sheffield United game I looked at the table and estimated that another 6 wins were needed. I then looked at the fixtures and thought I could be a tough ask. Now after the Sheffield United game it looks a lot more realistic as I wasn't expecting any points from that game. We just need to consolidate those 3 points with wins against bottom half teams in Stoke and Reading. Win those two games and I think we really are cooking on gas. I'd say we would need 3 wins following that and it more than doable with games against Hull and Huddersfield in there. Stoke (A) = W Reading (H) = W Birmingham (A) = W Norwich (H) = L Huddersfield (A) = W Hull (H) = W Coventry (H) = D Preston (A) = D Dingles (H) = L Luton (H) = W Millwall (A) = D -
I'm 35 and the Riverside is the only stand I've never been in. Not in a hurry to break that trend too. Met some people that love it in there but give me N01 anyday!

After getting the Burnley game moved due to the FA cup victory (I'm glad about that as I'm at a stag do that weekend) we may well end up playing them anyway in the cup.

He was a legend in the FIFA gaming community too. I have great memories of playing FIFA04 where John Motson and Ally Mcoist recording lines were played over anything you did bad or good in the game.
-
Ahh yeah I forgot to check if Reading was playing already or not. Got ahead of myself.
-
One thing that got me thinking. If Burnley but not Rovers progressed to the next round of the FA Cup, and the game between between the two sides got postponed, would it be a possibility to move the Reading mid-week fixture to the weekend? Would much rather a home game on a Saturday 3:00 instead of a Wednesday 8:00 for example.

Yeah I heard about the time wasting but that happens with all teams with a lead doesn't it? I actually liked the idea of what they did at the WC with the added time. I don't think they should have been implementing that into a game part way into a season though. It may be a common occurrence next season which I am OK with but part way through a season would be inconsistent with the already completed games. I wasn't there so maybe my opinion on this isn't valid but I just thought I'd make the point about the deep stoppage time goals. I haven't noticed WBA scoring late on in games. Have they done it in many games this season?
-
Burnley have more lives than a Buddhist cat. Another late, late goal to rescue them from defeat. Their game against Rotherham was beyond the joke tbh.
-
I understand all the points you made. I'd say your well within your rights to say what you have said. I still stand by my viewpoint though. Like the point I made earlier, if nothing is learned from this and we are in the same position at the end of the next window, my viewpoint will have changed. Your last sentence was a very good point I must admit. We are for sure not a normal club.

Ultimately, I take the likenesses that it wasn't necessarily his mistake. He is just showing leadership of his team for coming out and taking responsibility to the public. How it is handled internally may be a different matter and a mistake of his may be trusting someone incompetent or untrustworthy?
