The Relegation Thread
Cuppliance replied to roverandout's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I don’t think we are in threat of relegation. We are 10 points off the top 6 and everyone is saying the play off is out of the picture and at the same time we are 10 points off the bottom 3 and people are thinking we are relation threatened. Generally speaking the teams at the top win more than the teams at the bottom so I’d say relegation is not on the cards for the rest of the season. -

I don't understand how you can say I'm dismissive of the whole idea of dismissing Mowbray when I said we should get a new manager if we don't make top 6. That's not being dismissive of the whole idea, more of middle point. I don't think we will make the top 6 but I can be proven wrong. I'm not content to be relegated, I just know we won't be relegated this season. We have too many points on the board and we would have to lose every game for the rest of the season. If he got sacked today I wouldn't be upset about it, I'd be more concerned about how these people pulling the strings would recruit the next manager. -

No you’ve either not seen or chosen to ignore my previous posts where I say things like I understand your viewpoint etc. So we’ve lost 3 in a row and are playing like crap. Yeah that is relegation form but we could hit good form again in the next game. Things can change quickly in football. I’m being optimistic but I want want to give him the the end of the season. If we are not in the top 6 at the end of the season I’m completely on board with a managerial change. -

Yeah your entitled to look at it from that viewpoint. I don’t personally but that’s the whole point of this message board. Having healthy discussions about the club. Be boring if everyone had the same opinions and fell in line to the ones who deem themselves to be superior and can’t accept any opinion than their own. -

Well it’s not a coincidence that you were trying to be belittling in that comment. -

You don't have to agree with me (I’m certain you won’t), but I’ll always respect him from preventing the club from being in a way worse situation than it is now. That’s why I think he’s owed the remainder of the season. Can’t help but be grateful for what he’s done for us. If your someone that just wants what’s best for the club with no sentiment then I understand why you would want the immediate change. I’d prefer to be more respectful but that’s just me. -

There isn’t but he’s owed the opportunity to prove us wrong. He’s out if he can’t. -

Guess we should have kept Coyle then. -

Cuppliance replied to JPTSwindon's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Yeah on first sight I can see why you think that. I just think for what he has done for the club in terms of turning it around when we could have been in freefall, I think he deserves the finish the season with the squad he’s accumulated. Also, although it might be a slim chance, keeping him until the seasons end is probably the best chance we have at reaching top 6. If we don’t make top 6 again then I would say “ok thanks for all you’ve done for our club but you’ve taken thus club as far as it can go at your helm.” -

I like how you highlighted that part of the response but not the bit about people on here jumping at an opportunity to belittle someone from behind a keyboard. -

It was Coyle that got us into a position to be relegated to league 1. It was Mowbray that got us back into the Championship and solidified us following absolute turmoil. -

Thanks for taking the time to explain all that. Much more humane than the other replies I received who just jump at the chance to try and belittle someone from behind a keyboard for sharing their opinion. What your saying makes sense. My biggest concern is that people talk about getting Tony out. But no talk of who they would have in instead. Could be out the frying pan and into the fire with a Coyle-like appointment. -

Not sure if there is even any point changing the Manager until the end of the season now. We are that far behind we might as well give him till the end of the season. -

Can’t see us getting anything out of this now. Knew it as soon as the commentator said that Barnsley haven’t won at home since Boxing Day. Rovers always play the duct breaker role. -

I’ve seen some very creative kits from puma in the past. I was always a fan of the 2003-04 Fulham home kit. The Tottenham puma kits looked smart too. I’d be optimistic for a Rovers puma kit. -

It doesn't seem that long ago from when we beat Cardiff away with that Armstrong long range goal. I think we'll win 3-2 Cardiff will get goals but I think we can outscore them. -
I agree, i think we have the best design for a football top. Probably a biased opinion but oh well. Was having a conversation with a Dingle and he was saying it is a horrible strip but he would do. I cant imagine someone picking Claret as a primary colour then deciding that it is a good idea. Disgusting colour!
