  1. I’m posting in the transfer thread, about transfers. What’s the point in deflecting to something else? Clubs around us are putting Waggott and Rovers to shame, re transfers. A big problem with Rovers fans is repositioning real problems to soften the argument against our owners. Other clubs are putting Rovers to shame. Including Plymouth.
  2. The teams around Rovers are putting Waggott and the club to shame.
  3. No chance. If this is the player we’re “chasing” I’m now even more confident we’ll get no one else in. Time wasters. The executives at the club don’t have the ability to pull off a transfer like this. In fact I’m not sure we can sign any player where there is a serious interest (at an equal level) elsewhere. Name me one we’ve landed recently. They are too incompetent and the green light for anything significant never comes.
  4. There's a big difference between getting to 5th and finishing 5th.
  5. Agree... honest and steady can be useful at times but I will never not think you need someone better than Pickering (to go for promotion). Beck has it IMO and will likely only get better.
  6. Some of Gueye's hold up play was outstanding last night and if Amari Bell can play in the Premier League then Callum Brittain wouldn't look out of place in it. Top right back at this level and our player of the season so far. Another thing that stood out to me again was how much more dynamic and mobile Beck is compared to Pickering. I like Pickering as a steady and honest player... but he hasn't offered us much bite at all for years in defence or going forward. We will miss Beck massively.
  7. I thought Emil Riis looked useless tonight for what it's worth ...
  8. The not receiving the full fee logic is insane btw as a reason not to sign players. Considering the buying club still acquired their player. You do what they did you moron. It isn't a surprise to most fans that the full sum doesn't arrive in one go, just as it doesn't go out in one go.... If you can't spend the amount you want though, it isn't a good offer is it? In that it isn't structured well enough for you to use it, so you don't accept it... but the reality is that isn't the real reason they didn't spend much in summer. So that was more Steve Waggott drivel. People eat this up. That was a £17.4m sale, those are the facts.
  9. or if it's being received in instalments 😂 absolute jokers.
  10. Rovers also getting totally sidetracked at how piss poor the central midfield backup is, and a potential left back crisis. Needed a lot more agreed before now. 👍
  11. Ah this one is absolutely perfect for Steve. Ambitious attempt, we can even make it an imaginary loan-to-buy right at the death for the perfect excuse. Strap in! "We did everything we could".
  12. Adebayo makes sense, it's convenient for Waggott to go after a deal that depends on something else. Easy one to get out of when it doesn't go through, which it won't, even if it was serious, which it isn't.
  13. I don't think you need to worry about the owners spending the cash on players.
  14. The fact that the club directors weren't receptive (back in December) of the the fact we were 5th, had ridden our luck in terms of investment and squad size - in relation to league position and weren't primed to go, will remain unforgivable... it is the perfect example of the incompetence still riddled within the club. From the scouting, to the decision making, to a willingness (or lack of) to influence the owners in a way to get the team better results. They are incompetent in all departments now overseen again by Waggott. It's not a coincidence. We've struggled in all January fixtures to put a team capable of winning together and will struggle again on Friday, it will be too even. We knew where the squad needed strengthening to push on and needed to do more. I can tell you whatever they do in the next 6 days, will not make up for it. There's no excuses this time. The prize is the Premier League. THE PREMIER LEAGUE. We made the player sales to invest reasonably within FFP in the summer and now, and the owners didn't bother... AGAIN.... As a club under Venky's we are not serious. They've made it clear there is no strategy to get there. Under Waggott we are being lied to. This is happening season after season. We have got to get Suhail, Waggott and Venky's OUT! I do not mind being an ambitious club that fails, what I can't stand is being a passive club that fails. We are a far cry from the Blackburn Rovers of the 90s and 00s, and the reason (Venky's) isn't good enough. We need owners that want to invest their millions in improving all aspects of the club - the stadium, the players, the training ground, the pitch and the brand. You can mention Blackburn Rovers almost anywhere in the world and people know it; in America, Europe and across the Far East. Let's get them out!
  15. I'd happily spend hard earned cash on protests. We need new owners.
  16. I bet Waggott's on the phone to Fleck to see if he fancies a few minutes against Preston. Absolute joker. Ivanovic keeps scoring for Millwall, including against us. Cost them £3m ... way out of our league. Waggott and Venky's have us lower than Preston in terms of financial clout. Absolutely shameful what they've done to this club since buying it.
  17. Great post. You also lose the player pulling power of being a team "heading for promotion". Not once have we capitalised on that under Venky's or Waggott. We're a tougher sell now. It's criminal the amount of times this has happened but the reality is we learned everything we needed to know about the owners the first time. We've been in better positions than this, with the same outcome - Steve should step down on Feb 4th and if he had anything about him he would... so no chance! 🤡
  18. The Sam Gallagher, Ennis, Telalovic and Wahlstedt fees cover most of our transfer business in the past 12 months. Let that sink in.
  19. Yep... it was wholesale and again not reinvested in the team in any way.
  20. There's only so long you can keep renewing and be lied to by the CEO. A lack of ambition, dishonesty, poor communication and no investment isn't a way to sell tickets.
  21. I keep going back to the Wharton and Raya money, forgetting we got £9m for Szmodics in a summer when "the owners could fund freely by providing a personal guarantee". Bollocks! Scumbags. Waggott is a deceitful man. The whole ground turned on him last year and the chants were right. Eustace saved him from anarchy. Time to resign Steve and Suhail Pasha, you're next! Friday night could get nasty. They are running out of places to hide.
  22. I'm sure Adam Forshaw is a decent guy but it's an absolutely criminal signing that tells you all you need to know about our CEO and the owners. Even with Travis and Tronstad a bit of money needed spending on the middle of the park. Money also needed spending at centre back. Early in the window. It's cost us points. The issues are glaringly obvious and it's a lack of interest in results by the owners... and the quality of our CEO. He's a plodder, with little ambition and his eyes firmly on his bank account. We might not see another Adam Wharton type transfer again, and when they happen it doesn't get reinvested at all in the squad, lets not pretend it will again on the next one....... so what is the plan? If you're not going to spend a reasonable amount of money on players when a sale like that happens you might as well forget it..... We need answers, Broughton made mistakes but his communication was open, honest and football driven. He had his eyes on reinvesting all of the Raya money. The owners need to go and they can take Waggott with them.
  23. This isn’t just a money issue, it’s a functionality issue too when it’s left in the hands of Waggott. We’ve seen it before, contracts get neglected etc. Smaller clubs that have generated less revenue are operating better than Rovers. Absolutely not what the players or manager deserve. We will never be successful with Suhail, Waggott and Venky’s. They would all have to go.
