  1. To be lauding Kargbo as a 'good signing', after bareful a handful of minutes played thus far, is rather premature I would suggest.
  2. The most telling comment to me is the one about us only having 6,000 hard core supporters. That tells us everything we need to know, and what we've been saying for ages; that their whole financial approach is simply to fleece those who will attend come what may. They have no inclination - nor nous of how - to grow the fanbase, other than put on free school buses every other week.
  3. That just reminds me of Ferraris and Minis. Only now we're the Mini.
  4. Pretty much how I feel, although the 20% price increase for my 2 JWU tickets has hacked me off.
  5. Wait until the match ticket prices get unveiled; he'll also try and make up some of the shortfall that way.
  6. There's no concept of 'speculate to accumulate' with this lot; they just play it safe every year by rinsing the loyal customer in order to hit the lowest revenue target that they can get away with. Absolutely no business acumen whatsoever.
  7. I'm undecided. What are your thoughts on the price increases?
  8. The season ticket price increases merely confirm this. The owners only want to put in the bare mininum to keep the ship barely afloat.
  9. Wow. If I've worked this out right, the tickets for myself and my daughter (U23) in the JWU outer have gone from £546 to £658. That's an increase of £112 or 20%. Her's alone has gone up 37%. They really are stupid.
  10. Rovers 'fans' who now go and watch Stanley are fans of neither club. I'm sorry, but I just can't relate to your '7 year old' hypothesis. My daughter was brought up a Rovers fan, she was given no choice in the matter, as I didn't thanks to my father, nor him from his father. Like me, she has no interest in any other club. If Rovers didn't exist in the future, then we would watch no other team. She understands what it's all about and what it means. That's just the the way it is.
  11. Back in the mid 80's, my Dad's mate married a lass from Burnley and moved over that way, At the drop of a hat, he ditched going to Ewood in favour of the Turd. This was at the time they were in the old 4th division IIRC. Bizarre. He was never spoken to again.
  12. I genuinely can't understand how anyone can drop support for one team and pick up with another, whatever the circumstances.
  13. If they've 'gone supporting another team', then they were never Rovers fans in the first place.
  14. I reckon the pension hike was a 'golden handcuffs' type arrangement and he'll soon be off, probably at the season end. Then it will be 'Rudy, come on down...'
  15. Ordinarily, no. The trouble here though, is that we'll likely get lumbered with a replacement who's even worse.
  16. I call bollocks on that supposed 'jigsaw'. If they genuinely saw it as a 'failed investment', then they'd cut their losses and run. The longer it goes on, then the more money they lose etc etc...that's basic business sense. There's other reasons beyond financial ones as to why they hang on.
  17. Anyone who follows Nixon is quite frankly, dim. Anyone who actually pays for his guff is certifiable.
  18. The only thing that will irk the masses is failure on the pitch.
  19. The writing has been on the wall for months. Esutace saw it coming and jumped ship as soon as he could. We are only ever one poor managerial appointment away from disaster. This looks like it's the one. On the pitch, at least, it's all coming to a head.
  20. 4 of these 6 supposed 'good signings' wil be gone in 2 months. That leaves us with 2 or 3, out of what, 13? Hardly 'good' at all, I'd suggest.
