The evidence is everywhere and with anything for sale. Reduce the price of something and you'll sell more of it, all other things being equal.

I didn't realise that, the robbing so-and-so. Yet more short sightedness. Encouraging people into the shop with a voucher in hand would likely encourage a bigger spend. Now people won't bother going in in the first place.

I pay it because I'm lucky enough to be able to do so, but I don't consider it value for money nor a fair price. More fool me, you might say.

How can the price of something be deemed fair to one person, but not fair to others? The price of something for sale, whatever that something is, is either value for money (fair price) or otherwise (unfair price), irrespective of the wherewithall of the buyer. 'Fairness' is being confused here with the ability of someone who can afford a ST, versus those who can't.

What was our average attendance last season, 14k or so? I imagine that Swag will work on the theory that selling the same number of STs as last season will result in a similar average, assuming that performances are up there. In which case, job done in his world.

It's not just the high prices of Sky/BT which lure people into dodgy streaming services. I know a couple who have a Sky Sports subscription and also have a dodgy Amazon thing through which they watch all Rovers games. I asked them numerous times last season to come to Ewood, even with the ticket offers. The answer back was always 'Why should we pay £30-40 when we can watch it at home for free?' So it's not just Sky/BT; the price of match tickets also contributes to illegal streaming. The couple in question used to have season tickets btw, and used to attend 4 or 5 matches a season even without. They're totally out of the habit of attending Ewood, and the club has never once contacted them.

Taking on development players like Morton, and playing them as much as we did, will not lead to top 6 finishes or better.

With decent backing this summer, I'm quite optimistic that we'll be on for a decent season under Tomasson. If he left though? Meh, that's football. There's plenty of examples of managers who've quickly improved sides, and not spent a year forcing a supposed superior style (aka tippy tappy). I'd argue it would be easier to find a manager who plays a simpler, more direct style. The worry will be the ability of the club to attract a capable replacement in a timely way.

Who's he?

To be fair to Matty, he's implied that price is the main factor for most, not the only factor. I agree with him in the main; the price is the first thing which most people will consider. But of course, for some people, other factors take precedence.

But if the price was atrractive, that may sway their decision.

Arguably, we already have ticket flexibility. It's called a match ticket. The problem is that our match tickets are too expensive, because our season tickets are too expensive to begin with.

His targets should be set against growing income AND on numbers sold. ie the same as most businesses.

They may get a bump at the end of the month after pay days, but yes, it's looking poor.

Waggott has had 12 months to address the debacle of last year's approach to season tickets, but has chosen to do nothing of substance to increase numbers. Nothing will change until he's gone. It's not in his personal interest to do so.

Lots of green? Hardly. We've seen our club achieve things you can't even dream of.

All too slow and predictable.

I bought ours yesterday after thinking long and hard. It's still just about worth it financially, despite us missing 2 or 3 games. The following season will be more questionable though Being asked to stump up £600 whilst knowing there's going to be plenty of games shifted, may be a no. With the advent of the new TV deal, this surely rings the death knell for traditional season tickets. Fans are being asked/told to be more flexible in when they can attend, so it should follow that clubs offer more flexible ticketing solutions. Probably not at BRFC though.

An important point for ST holders.... We'll still be asked to buy our season tickets (in April/May) before the televised fixtures are announced (probably in July or whenever fixtures are released). So as far as season tickets goes, we'll effectively have no more notice than we have now. ie we'll still be asked to buy STs before we know what the TV schedule looks like.
