  1. The cynic in me says that this will be just like any other government backed regulator. Think rail, water, energy etc.... Let's hope not, and that the regulator actually has some clout in addressing the greed of the PL clubs. I listened to the Crystal Palace guy - Parish - being interviewed on 5LIve at lunchtime. He seemed quite sceptical about.
  2. The Bolton-Plymouth final will get a huge attendance.
  3. He played well again last night, much improved since he joined us. My only beef is that his excessive schoolyard step overs and flicks were creeping back in last night. He gave the ball away a couple of times in good positions trying to be a Fancy Dan.
  4. If you sit in the main stand - the Jack Walker - there's plenty of stairs to enjoy 🙂
  5. ... and competence.
  6. Against a bottom side, Tomasson has to show far more attacking intent than was on display in that dire first half against Swansea. More of the second half display, please Rovers. If we do that, we should win.
  7. Out of curiosity, I ventured on to the Plain English Campaign website. Oddly enough, the word 'stakeholder' was not included in the list of words for which they offer a 'plain English' alternative. Perhaps you should highlight their ommission, and to tell them that they're also wrong? I'm sure that they'll be as enthralled as we all are with your point of view.
  8. Chaddyitis is rife, it would appear....
  9. A stakeholder's 'stake' need not be a financial one. As an example, the local Ewood community are stakeholders in BRFC. If the club don't pick litter up, again for example, then they are impacted by the club.
  10. ...but a totally implausible one.
  11. Blackpool will have their tails up after winning at the weekend. This will be a tough match, but I think we'll have enough about us. 1-0 Rovers
  12. I'll rephrase. A club could get Brereton for nothing at the end of the season. If they don't want him for nothing, they're hardly then going to bid millions for him a short while later are they?
  13. Let's also not forget, that this whole £30k discussion is based on a paid for Nixon article. Hardly gospel....
  14. If no one has 'stumped up the cash for him' thus far, why on earth would they spend £3/5/8m on him in summer, when they can get him for free?
  15. Reminder to self. Don't forget BRFCS rule #1.
  16. If he's having second thoughts about moving abroad, I'm sure there will be other Championship suitors who would offer a better deal than us, thus solving that particular problem for him. It's just another publicity stunt to appease the gullible.
  17. Why are Ineos et al looking to buy Utd for billions then? To lose money?
  18. I hope that you're right. But as I said, in any walk off life, money talks. How do you think Qatar got the world cup?
  19. Whoever is instigating it is irrelevant. As soon as the English and German clubs realise that they can earn oodles more money than they get from Sky et al through a Euro Super League and subsequent global TV rights, they'll be off like a shot. Money talks, as in any walk of life.
  20. Playing to the gullible - again - to make it look like we're doing something.
  21. The Arabs and Ineos bids make a mockery of the theory spouted on here, that the Euro Super League won't happen, and as such foreign owners (Glazers & Liverpool) are looking to offload...
  22. The likelihood is that he'll hide behind 'cost of living' to raise prices yet again.
  23. The only reason he'll accept the offer here is if it betters what he's been offered elsewhere. What use is a 1 year deal to him? He could get badly injured a la Dack, then find himself with no, or far worse options, at the end of the year.
  24. Didn't Swansea do similar in the 80s?
