  1. I have the same view. I think they're erring on the side of caution for the sake of possession vs taking a gamble.
  2. Totally agree. Players leaving for free, trying to make do with a team of U23s, yet another failed attempt at a transfer window....the chickens are coming home to roost, I'm afraid (pardon the pun). As for Diaz, he's been regressing for months, almost to the point where he's reverted back to the Brereton days. His confidence is shot; I can't remember the last time he scored in a 1v1 situation, Blackpool away perhaps. Absolute idiocy that we didn't cash in on him.

  4. I sit in W12 in line with the penalty spot Chaddy, it's a good view and you get the BBE atmosphere. As for the kiosks, it's a regular occurence for one to be closed and for there to be slow queues. I don't bother any more. For the first time in ages, there was a sizeable queue at the turnstiles. It was fortunate that all 3 were working, as usually the one nearest the BBE is closed.
  5. Repectfully, I disagree. CM is where you control games from. Our CM's are as weak as the proverbial.
  6. IMO, we'd be no worse off playing AWharton or Garrett over Morton. At least they'd put a tackle in.
  7. A thing I noticed yesterday, was how wise their players were compared to ours. Little nudges here and there to put ours off balance and win the ball/header. Imagine Ashley bloody Barnes up against those two at the back, they'd get shoved all over the place. Expecting to get anywhere in this league, but being reliant on young players like Morton, is a fool's game.
  8. A better performance then usual, including a couple of decent passages of play where we even successfully passed the ball in and around the opposition penalty box. On the whole though, it was all still fairly tedious fare, lacking in excitement for the large part. 'Sideways, sideways, forwards, sideways, backwards, sideways, goalie, forwards, lose possession' remains the game plan. From the moment they equalised, it was only going one way. We're crying out for someone to control the middle of the park, to move the ball forward quicker, and to inject some pace. The times we played the ball longer in behind their defence was when we looked dangerous, only for Brereton to - again and again - fluff his lines.
  9. Maybe that's Waggot's club shop commercial strategy. Restrict sizes to XL, then expect people to fill up on overpriced club bought pies ...
  10. Thanks @Gav I went to all of those - great memories. I remember 'standing' on the terrace behind the goal at Goodison, couldn't see a darn thing!
  11. Hyam being out is a big miss. 2-0 Robins
  12. Dyche for Tomasson? In a heartbeat.
  13. Whereever the fault lies - be it the owners through to our hapless exec team - it should not be acceptable, in any way, for several high value players to leave a FFP challenged club for nothing. The club will tell us that there was nothing more that they could have done, when actually, it is precisely their responsibility is to make sure that something else was done, to serve the best interests of BRFC. Some people choose to believe them; I for one, don't.
  14. Exactly, which harks back to my original 'dimwit' comment.
  15. Absolute tosh. Brereton has had nothing but support from the fanbase right throughout. If you go to Ewood, you'd know this. It's funny how most other clubs find a way to trade players and realise some value back. Not us though, for some reason. You just keep on believing what they tell you.
  16. Quite the opposite. I'd argue that it was very, very fortunate how it turned out. Brereton changed from an absolute donkey with no value, into a 15m player in a matter of months. The dimwits in charge didn't recognise and capitalise on this, hence we are where we are.
  17. The supposed model is all about effective succession planning. Buy low, sell high, and replace ad infinitum. We're light years away from this.
  18. I'm 54 and don't expect to see us play PL football again - certainly not any time soon - thanks to the idiots who run the show. But at the end of the day, it's our club. It's not Venky's or Waggot's club - it's ours. Even though I'm not as emotionally invested in Rovers as I used to be, I'm not letting them stopping me from doing what I've been doing since 1975. One day they will be gone.
  19. Would it? We're only 5 points better off than 10th.
  20. I personally don't mind Morton. I think he's decent enough on his day, but has a tendency to drift out of games and lose the ball in dangerous positions. He's no better than Wharton though, yet Wharton is one of ours and should start over Morton for that reason (IMO). I don't think any of our midfield options - Morton/Wharton/Garrett/Travis/Buckley - are strong enough or consistently good enough (yet) for a side chasing the play offs. To push for a top 6 spot, an additional, solid midfielder, is a necessity.
  21. Ah cheers - it was Emerton I was thinking of, not the Greek guy (Donis?)
  22. Was the Wolves game the one where that Greek winger of ours (can't remember his name) did that amazing dribble and scored? (I could be thinking of some other game)
  23. Isn't Serie A on BT Sport?
