Well considering it was only 3 days ago since they knew what division they were in, which arguably influences the type and calibre of manager they can go for, I'd say that's pretty quick. No messing around putting shortlists together and interviewing; they've gone straight for their man in Kompany and are seemingly getting the job done. Dyche was only sacked a month ago.

I heard a snippet on 5Live yesterday, stating that Burnley are aiming to make an appointment by the end of the month. That's how you do it, unlike our protracted effort.

Totally. I suspect a good number - myself included - have budgeted for getting paid at the end of the month before renewing.

That may be true, but doesn't excuse him from his responsibilities and accountabilities. Whether he's capable is another matter, and yes, that is down to the owners to sort.

Of course Venkys aren't the best, but to simply lay the failings of everything and everybody at the club at their doorstop is rather a simplistic view. Waggot is a highly paid CEO of a large company. It is his responsibility to set the tone on the ground floor, and to deflect noise and uncertainty away from staff. That's what good leaders do.

If Burnley organised themselves post Dyche, they'll have a Plan A and a Plan B. We'll find out soon enough though Chaddy!

I agree. But if we're only getting round to interviewing this week, there's enough opportunity for an organised club to steal a march for the better candidates.

A drawback of Burnley getting relegated, is that they'll now be fishing in the same pool as us for a new manager. Let's hope that the club are nearer to a conclusion than we think is the case.

I used to have a soft spot for Forest from when they were European champions back in the day under Clough. Not so much lately. They have a couple of players - Johnson and Garner - who think they're something special. Cloughie would have given them a slap.

I wonder if Mogga knows that Kendall once managed us? Either way, it's totally irrelevant when judging his ability as a manager. The same goes for for Cocu's knowledge of Clough; it's irrelevant when judging him.

If the owners are due to speak with Mowbray this week - as he himself implied - then I wouldn't expect an announcement until afterwards. What the announcement will be, is anyone's guess. I fear the worst.

How noble it is of Mowbray to be worrying about Nyambe even after he's left us. Even more so, considering that he's got his work/life balance to prioritise. What a guy!

If there is indeed a football 'strategy' in place - and in lieu of Mowbray et al - I'd be very intrigued to know who at the club now actually owns it, defines it, and it is accountable for it...

Exactly. We'll no doubt piss about 'interviewing' half a dozen candidates, then um and ah for a fortnight pretending to make a decision. In the meantime, clubs like QPR will steal a march on us, go straight for the guy at the top of their list, who'll then start making signings before our lot realise this season has ended.
