v Millwall (h) - 8/3/22

I think they defended well because we didn't score, you don't because we missed 4 chances. Imagine if we'd have gone to Fulham and scraped a 0-0 win, despite having no shots on target and Fulham missing a couple of sitters. Wouldn't you be pleased with a point gained? -
If they were out of our price range, arguably it was a futile exercise chasing them in the first place.

Yes I would. For the reasons I keep giving. Put yourself in their shoes. -

Yes I would. They came for a point away at one of their play off rivals, and they got that point. That point keeps their unbeaten run going, and keeps them in touch of the top 6. If they were so poor, what does that make us? -

You watched a different game to what I saw from the JW Second best, yes, but Millwall's defence was composed and organised. They came for a draw and got it. If I was a Millwall fan walking off the ground last night, I'd be more than content. -

Yes, I'd call not conceding a goal as dealing with us fairly well. Those chances weren't easy enough for us to score. And that's what's matters, not possession, corners or near misses. -

Millwall weren't poor quality or shocking. Their ambitions were limited, but bar a couple of scary moments, they dealt with us fairly well I thought. -

Indeed Jim. I can still recall the sound of feet stamping on the wooden floor. Hooked ever since 😀 -

Is Ayala back in the squad for this, or is he still on his winter break? We're going to need him soon enough. -

Oh no. The first game I ever went to was the 5-2 win over Plymouth in 75. Hooked ever since thanks to Gordon and that side. -
Dolan is the sort of player who excites the crowd, but of course there needs to be a better end product. Time will tell whether he improves that. He's another victim of Mowbray's square peg/round hole approach IMO. It's unfair to expect him to be playing this false 9 role and to be banging the goals in. He's not a natural goalscorer, in the same way that Buckley isn't.

Premier League season 21/22

Everton were shocking last night. If it came to the crunch, I'd put money on Burnley to stay up over them. The likes of Dele Alli and Richarlison aren't going to scrap their way out of a relegation battle. -

Which clubs do you class as derbies then? Just Burnley? -

'SW stated that he wanted to put out an Early Bird Season Ticket deal but some work needed to be done on pricing given the current inflationary pressures. He hoped to have a deal out to close at Easter.' In the meantime, Burnley's Early Bird will be done and dusted by end-March with prices frozen from this season. We all know what's coming our way...

That may be true, we've all moved jobs for a change of scenery. Offer him what he's worth though first and take the financial aspect out of his decision making. If he then still wants that change of scenery, fair enough.

If Nyambe does end up at Preston North End or similar, then Waggott and Mowbray will need dragging over the coals.

No arguments at all. It also shows how undeniably poor those 3 seasons were.
