Attendances: A cause for concern
Wheelton Blue replied to SIMON GARNERS 194's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
My guess is that some match ticket fans will have already decided to watch the QPR game on Sky. Therefore, to them, the bundle becomes in effect just the Millwall game, which they'll buy a cheaper match ticket for instead. -

The Barca/Napoli game was a decent watch. With regard to Barca, how the mighty have fallen! They really struggled until Busquets came on as a sub when they took control. If Ferran Torres wasn't so inept, they would have won comfortably though. The return leg will be interesting. -

Rich Sharpe has posted that the club have sold 500 Double Deckers thus far, with the hope of reaching 1,000 by kick off. -

The name 'Briggs' sounds familiar. I'm thinking of Peter Briggs, who was a PE teacher when I went to Pleckgate. -

Nyambe deservedly getting plaudits for his performance last night. But for me, Wharton was the MOM by a country mile. If he's not tied down to a contract, he needs to be. As @AllRoverAsia says above, he's PL ready. A PL club will come knocking soon enough. -

It'll be interesting to see what uptake they get with sales for this offer. Hopefully we'll see an uptick. I really don't get the logic behind limiting it to just the DE, though. We need more bums on seats, so why does it matter where people sit? -

I agree that Buckley that should play deeper. He can pick a pass and should be capable of pulling the strings from there. -

Before the game, I thought a point would be decent. When Ayala bailed, I thought a point would be very good. After watching the game and seeing how poor WBA were, I'm disappointed with just a point. That was a missed opportunity. The other promotion hopefuls would have beaten WBA at a canter. -

Those who no longer attend, or who still attend but as walk ons? If it's the latter, then they would need replacing by new walkons for your theory to hold. This is why I think it's too simplistic to say 'increase STs and overall attendances will increase the same'. -

Which part of the fanbase, is my question. Elapsed season ticket holders who no longer attend? Elapsed season ticket holders who are now walk ons? Elapsed walk ons who aren't currently attending at all? For your theory to hold true (1,000 increase in STs = 1,000 overall increase for the Forest game), where the 1,000 comes from matters. -

Forest at home this week. If we had an extra 1,000 season ticket holders, do you thnk the home attendance would have gone up by 1,000? -

They do pay and go to some games though (Boro/Preston etc). But run of the mill games, no. Your point is valid though. It's all too easy to watch games from home, either legally or otherwise. -

We have what 12k supporters now (season tickets + walk ons) ? I'm not convinced that if we had more season ticket holders, our attendances would have been much different thus far this season.
