  1. That's like saying the Rovers couldn't have attracted Dalglish. If the potential and ambition is there, and more importantly the money is right, they'll be able to attract pretty much anyone.
  2. If wouldn't surprise me if Pep II starts Johnson - so a midfield trio of Johnson/Travis/Rothwell - and plays Buckley as the player furthest forward, with Dolan & Khadra either side. Such is the way his mind works.
  3. Our best hope is to keep a clean sheet. Without Brereton in the form he's in, there's not many goals in our team.
  4. There's a reason why Chile are hauling an English second division player half way round the world. My guess is that it's because they aren't very good.
  5. For a club like ours, in the financial position we're in, to spend 7m on a 'project' is ludicrous. For that amount of money we should expect the real deal from day one, not after a dozen decent games 3 years down the line.
  6. There;s no doubt that Brereton has improved over the past few months, and is in a rich wein of form for both club and country. Long may that continue. To say he's 'made it' though, is a tad OTT. Made what exactly? Prior to his recent improvement, his starting point was pretty darn low. To have previously described him as 'atrocious' wouldn't have been too wide of the mark. He was dire.
  7. My mistake, thanks. £30 for a second division game is still too much IMO.
  8. I still think that they've missed a trick with the Preston and Blackpool games. £32 down to £30 is hardly going to entice many more.
  9. Perhaps it's something to do with him needlessly spunking millions and hence the FFP well has run dry? It's on him and Waggott. No one else.
  10. The point I was trying to make, Chaddy, is that the demeanour of Mowbray, Venus et al is hardly motivational. Unlike Critchley, who was constantly seen gee'ing up his team and organising. Mowbray is so passive, it's untrue. Would I want Critchley as manager? I think we could do a lot better than that, and he's a lot better than Mowbray.
  11. Agree to diasagree Chaddy. Your refusal to accept any criticism of Mowbray and his cohorts beggars belief. They can do no wrong in your eyes, it would seem.
  12. You don't dind it strange that the coaches don't errrrr.......coach? Strange.
  13. Where I sit in the JWU I don't have a view of the dugout. It was noticable at Blackpool, however, through sitting across from the dugout, just how lethargic Mowbray et al are. Compared to Critchley and his assistants - who seemed to be on their feet for the duration cajolling their players - our lot sit slumped almost horizontally watching the world go by. It's little wonder that we see this reflected on the pitch.
  14. In games that matter to progressing the club - against the top teams for example - or which matter to the fans - such as yesterday - I imagine his record is terrible. He's simply not a winner.
  15. You're not 'happy just staying up', but seem to be happy enough with Mowbray still being here. Slight contradiction, me thinks.
  16. Agreed. Even more so, even if adequate replacements existed, we haven't a hope in hell of Mowbray finding them.
  17. People pointing the finger at Magloire for both Blackpool goals. Rightly so, as he in no small part was at fault. However, for the first goal, Buckley was equally at fault. He let their guy stroll past him prior to the ball going out wide. Ayalya gave him pelters for that. In games like this, Buckley is more often than not a passenger. Yes, he shows moments of ability - such as the cross for our goal - but he is so lacking in physicallity and desire when it really matters.
  18. I was looking forward to this game all week. More fool me. Predicatably, Mowbray was out thought once again by his opposite number, in both formation, tactical awareness, and team selection. Predictably, Mowbray continues to play players out of position. In this case, a centre half so far out of his depth in his normal position, predictably getting ripped to shreds at full back. Predictably, Mowbray's team - who arguably on paper are better players then the opposition - gets rolled over by opponents showing more will and determination. Predicatably, Mowbray will remain here for the foreseeable. Predictably, we are going absolutely no where under this fella. He has to go. Now.
  19. The fact that there was noone - other than Magloire - to replace Nyambe is Mowbray all over! That's the point!!!!! As for the 3 subs, they are as weak as p*ss and the opposite of what was needed to shore everything up. Again, the fact that there was no-one else to bring on, is 100% on Mowbray.
  20. That is true Chaddy. However, it's also down to Mowbray as to why there wasn't anyone to bring on to shore up the defence; why he changed formation due to one player (Nyambe) going off; why he inexplicably brought on 3 lightweights when we were up against it; and hence why we threw the game last night. This is my beef with him. He always finds a way of cocking it up.
  21. Thank goodness we do have 16 points, cos we all know what happens with Mowbray. He screwed that game up last night with his substitutions. At 2-2, and with Rothwell going off injured, he should have shored up the defence and seen the game out for a draw. Job done. Instead, what we witnessed was a debacle of substitutions, whereby we totally lost all control and basically threw the game. He never changes Chaddy and that's why we'll never amount to anything under his watch.
  22. If we're stuck with the defence which finished the game last night, I'm not hopeful. 2-1 Tangerines.
  23. If anyone was under any illusion that Mowbray has somehow turned a corner, last night's capitulation should put paid to that. The guy will never be able to consistently win football matches. He's his own worst enemy.
  24. We aren't and never will be the real deal under Mowbray. Tonight, he once again reverted to type.
  25. If we end up playing that side which finished tonight's game for any number of games, we're in trouble.
