  1. I'd be delighted with 9th place. However, I'm a realist. Last season's form guide absolutely does matter, for the simple reason being that nothing has changed for the better, in fact it's got worse. An improvement in form and results won't miraculously happen just because we're in a new season. That's just wishful thinking.
  2. Do you honestly believe that if nothing changes, we'll end up anywhere near 9th? The form guide - stretching back now over 30 or so games - says quite the opposite unless something radical happens.
  3. One win in five now per the form guide. After what seemed like a good start upon which to build, Mowbray is already - and unsuprisingly - reverting to type. For a whole myriad of reasons, he is simply not capable of winning football matches with any level of consistency. Every day this carries on, is another wasted day.
  4. With Phillips, Barnes, Pike and Lenni all missing, the defence was up against it all night. Our two full backs got a roasting.
  5. Good finish by Burns there
  6. Could be a hat full this. Out defending is awful.
  7. Exactly. It's all about why things can't or didn't happen, rather than making sure that they can or did happen.
  8. That away game at Stoke when the unbeaten run came to an end (I think) is one of my best memories of following the Rovers. Thousands at Stoke that day.
  9. That may well be true, but how will we ever find out if he can cut it, if he's not given a chance?
  10. So a non-member who fancies a pint in the Blues Bar on the odd occasion pre-match, has to pay £8.50 for the privilege. I doubt that there'll be many takers. Maybe that's the thinking behind it though, to keep out the riff raff 🙂
  11. I generally find England a dull team to watch. It's effective, but attritional in the main. Against Poland, who would do well do finish mid table in the Prem, we didn't look like scroring and it took Kane's speculative effort to score. We still don't possess a truly world class player.
  12. It's self defeating. Fancy a quick pint in the Blues Bar before the game? Yeah OK, it's only a quid on top the price of a pint. vs Fancy a quick pint in the Blues Bar before the game? There's no way I'm paying 3 quid on top of a pint, I'll do without thanks.
  13. I'm sure that it used to be a quid only a couple of seasons back.
  14. Therein lies the rub. There's nothing to suggest that Mowbray even recognises his mistakes, let alone acts on them.
  15. So we have Khadra, Leeds Guy, Dolan, Chapman all vying for the same role. Someone must be on their way out...
  16. Does this Khadra play in the same position as the lad we've just got from Leeds?
  17. Fylde shirts are nothing. I'm still eagerly awaiting details of my place in the supporter mosaic, as promised in recognition of my 'superb support in the club's hour of need' - (c) S.Waggott 2021 - by buying a season ticket last season. Tick, tock...
  18. I don't think he's quite given up on his possession based nonsense just yet. From the LT: “Ayala was immense, that’s why he’s here, yet it does give us a conundrum of if we want to be more ball possession orientated that’s very difficult with Daniel doing what he does.
  19. Scenario 1: Joe the occasional fan has a free Saturday afternoon, so he decides to pop down to Ewood. He pays £32 for a ticket in the Blackburn End. The Rovers play poorly, getting beat 2-1 by WBA. Joe is pissed off that the Rovers lost, even more so as it cost him £32 for the priviledge. He goes to the pub after the game, where he meets Bob. Joe says to Bob, 'I've just spent £32 watching a right bag of crap. I'm not going there again any time soon. It's a right rip off.'. Scenario 2: Joe the occasional fan has a free Saturday afternoon, so he decides to pop down to Ewood. He pays £20 for a ticket in the Blackburn End. The Rovers play poorly, getting beat 2-1 by WBA. Joe is a bit pissed off that the Rovers lost, but not bothered as it only cost him £20. He goes to the pub after the game, where he meets Bob. Joe says to Bob, 'I've just been down to the Rovers watching them get beat by bloody West Brom. But you know what, it was alright! I had a laugh and a few beers, and it was only £20 for the ticket. I think I'll go again. You should come with'.
  20. £30 isn't bringing any on, so £20 couldn't bring on any less than that!
  21. It would make some difference, more so if the entertainment was improved. As an example, I have family members - 3 adults - who go occasionally. There's no way they'd pay £30 for anything other than say a Boxing Day game.
  22. No, I'm not joking at all. How many are paying £30 to go to Ewood to watch championship football? Hardly any; ergo it's expensive for what you get.
  23. Wharton will (or should) have to fight for the shirt and prove his fitness. IMO he's now below Carter in the pecking order, at least until the above happens. There's no guarantee that Wharton will return as the player he was.
  24. Perhaps £30 a pop may have something to with it
