  1. Not always the case I agree, but there are countless examples of teams continuing good/bad end of season runs into the next. In our case, the same management/tactics/players will likely result in the same outcome as the last third of last season.
  2. Under the present management and considering form over the last 20 or so games, 2 points max looking at that list I reckon. Eek.
  3. Nope. £439 was the price last season, and therefore this. At least they got it right on the FAQs page though. I stand corrected. It was £459. The FAQ for this year shows it as £439 though.
  4. They can't even get the price listed correctly on the website for my ST. The quoted ST price for JW Upper Outer Adult is down as £459. It should actually be £439. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2021/june/Rovers-welcome-you-Back-To-Live-/ FFS
  5. Bennett has been a waste of a squad place for at least 2 seasons. No loss whatsoever....unless fist pumping is your thing.
  6. Waggot and his commercial and marketing teams are a disgrace. On the back of months of no live football, they should be doing all they can to generate interest around season tickets and the comng season. All we have is radio silence, not a peep. Any modern, consumer-centric business would be all over us with marketing, trying to get us to spend our money. The whole model to season ticket renewals is so outdated. We live in a world of subscriptions - Netflix, Prime etc. - and people quickly get used to monthly payments for services. I don't see why they can't come out with a similar model, whereby we have a membership subscription which covers ticket pricing, premium online content, away game travel...that sort of thing. They'd then have regular income and a captive audience. With a bit of forethought, they could have done this a year ago and kept supporters on board; what they'll now likely have is the lowest ST uptake in a generation.
  7. Doing the maths on this... I'm one of the 2500 who bought a season ticket, £459 JW Upper That's £19.96 per game After 'paying' £10 for each game on iFollow (£230), Waggot owes me a discount of £229 (£9.96 x 23) off next season's ticket. Even if prices do go up, surely even he can't rip me off that much. Or could he? 🤔
  8. I think Waggot intentionally leaves it as late as possible so he can firstly look at what other clubs have done, and based on that then decides what he can then get away with/fleece us by.
  9. Oh for the days of Don Mackay teams back in the old division 2. Those seasons were anything but boring.
  10. Fair play @gumboots A CEO worth his salt would be doing all he could to tempt supporters such as yourself, even if the football wasn't up to scratch. But alas...
  11. Would you have been otherwise?
  12. Due to the complete mismanagement of contracts, it was always on the cards that one or two of Evans/Bennett/Downing/Johnson would be offered a new contract. To replace all of them in one window would be a big enough job for a competent manager. For an incompetent one, all the more so.
  13. Some people talk shite. To be fair to the two gentlemen in question here though, they come across as being fairly considered in their general postings, so I think it's a tad unfair to label what they've reported here as 'shite'.
  14. I've thought for a long time that our achilles heal is with the full backs not being able to defend balls into the box. Neither Bell nor Douglas - and to a degree Nyambe - are adept at blocking crosses, and never seem to bust a gut trying to do so. It's probably also down to how the team is set up to defend as a whole.
  15. With the contracts of Evans, Johnson, Trybull & Bennett all expiring, in addition to Holtby being let go, from a purely squad numbers point of view it's inevitable most of these will be offered new deals. That's a lot of midfielders to replace in one window. Terrible planning.
  16. Exactly. You rest a player when he's tired. Not because he might get tired.
  17. It appears that Mowbray is now suggesting Ayala gets a run out with the U23s and then maybe some action in the Birmingham game. What a waste of time. Absolutely pointless as Ayala will just lose any accrued match fitness anyway over the close season. Even worse, one of the U23 lads will have to give up his place in the team, when really they should be enjoying themselves together as a team and celebrating what has been a fantastic season.
  18. I very much doubt that a few people abstaining from buying club merchandise would have any affect whatsoever. It wouldn't even register, let alone cause the powers that be to review Mowbray's position as a result. In fact my view is the opposite and that we should buy merchandise....for the simple reason that there are people who work at the club shop, and who in the present climate may rely on the income. I'm in a fortunate position where I can afford a season ticket. I'll be doing so again, purely because I want to watch my team. Don't get me wrong though, I want Mowbray out as much as next man, and will be giving him both barrels in person from the JW. That's the best way of 'protesting' IMO.
  19. Unless Sharpe has a direct line into someone higher up the food chain than Waggott, IMO Sharpe won't have a clue whether Mowbray is staying or going. The whole article and ...'indications are that Rovers will stick by their manager...' are merely based on the latest nonsensical interview with Mowbray himself.
  20. I wonder what the Yank at Burnley is thinking. Servicing his buyout debt may prove a little less easy if there's less money swilling around the PL after the 'Big 6' get booted out.
  21. He's trying to hide behind intangibles and subjectivity, rather than front up to the things that matter....points and league position.
  22. If Mowbray breaks the record, we'll be relegated.
  23. I wouldn't have thought that the land is worth that much now. If they now can't build houses on it, what other use is there for it?
  24. The time and place for pretending to play tika taka is not here and now. We need points and we need them quickly. The man is a fool.
  25. Mowbray has admitted there that he did no due dilligence on Ayala before signing him. Unbelievable.
