  1. Chuffin' well said.
  2. 1. Winners of the Championship Leeds 2. Runners-up in the Championship Luton 3. Championship Play-off final winners B*rnley 4. Where will Rovers finish the season? 22nd 5. Which 3 clubs will be relegated from the Championship? Rovers, Oxford, Plymouth 6. Who will be the first club in the Championship to change manager? (For whatever reason) Oxford 7. Who will be the BRFCS Player of the Season? (As voted for in the Match Centre on BRFCS) Tronstad 8. A wildcard prediction for something (possibly quite mad) that will happen to or at Rovers during this coming season Chaddy misses a home game, but doesn't tell anyone
  3. I love watching Blackburn Rovers, playing at Ewood Park, at 3pm on a Saturday. Just as it should be.
  4. I wasn't sure where to post this, but this nostalgia thread seems as good as any. I spent a few days in northern Spain over the past week, and managed to visit the Athletic Bilbao stadium and had a look around the museum. What a place that is. I knew of the historical links between Athletic and the Rovers, and managed to grab a few photos from the museum of original shirts which were somehow given to them by people associated with the Rovers. It makes you realise what a fabulous, historic club it is which we all support. And how disgusting it is who we are owned and managed by.
  5. Let's hope this comes to fruition eh and we get some good news for a change? It may just cheer up the 'most miserable people in the fanbase' and 'conspiracy theorists' on here.
  6. We can barely put a starting 11 together as it stands; the squad as-is beggars belief. Losing any more players would be insanity. Either that, or something more nefarious. Or both.
  7. Chaddy - Nixon is a football reporter, it's his job to manufacture headlines in order to grab attention. Occasionally he will get some things right; if he didn't, he'd be out of a job. Not everything he says will come true, you know. I'd also ask yourself where you think Nixon gets these snippets from. Think about it for once and try to put 2 and 2 together.
  8. I went down to the Wigan game yesterday. Plenty of effort and a good fitness exercise, on the face of it. That starting side and bench, though. Crikey, we need half a team at least to just about compete. I posted a few days ago that I believe we're favourites for relegation with Sammie, and nailed on without him. I stand by that; these morons have royally screwed us all over.
  9. In that scenario, I imagine that they could carry on selling off assets (players, academy, land, stadium?) to pay bills, until there is nothing left to sell. Whether they'd do that, or swallow their pride finally and flog the club off, who knows. That's the doomsday case I think. ie the club as we know it is literally no more.
  10. @tomphil has it right in his post above I reckon. I sincerely hope that their hand is forced, but August will come and go with no material change. We've probably got enough money in the bank now from player sales to see us through the next few months. As such, there is no urgent need for the owners to send any funds over. The can will be kicked, and we'll be having the same conversations in 6,12 months time. Costs will continue to be cut, budgets and owner funding will get smaller and smaller, whilst we continue to suffer on the pitch. Rinse and repeat.
  11. Why do people refer to this Nixon chap as 'Nicko' like he's some friend of ours? He's just a newspaper hack who sucks in the gullible with his little 'exclusives'. Embarassing.
  12. Fans will simply react to what they see, or don't see, on the pitch.
  13. Thankfully there's no one on this site so stupid to do such a thing....is there? 🤔
  14. It's as plain as day that the 'early bird' was simply a cash grab to help keep the lights on.
  15. We're likely candidates for relegation as-is. Without Sammie, it's nailed on.
  16. In the main, supporters react to what they see on the pitch. I reckon it will all blow up up again after a few games in. The transfer window will be a disaster. we'll likely sell a combination of Sammie/Tronstad/JRC/Carter... to pay the milkman, we'll get another thumping off the Dingles and Nobbers, then come October time when everyone is pissed off and we're in the bottom 3, Ewood will awaken.
  17. It's a can kicking exercise now. My guess is that the club will plod on for as long as it can living off transfer proceeeds, the August hearing will quietly get pushed out, thus giving the owners an 'excuse' not to stump up any more dosh. Rinse and repeat for as long as they can, milking what they can. At some point in time, the well will run dry though, and we'll be in the deep stuff.
  18. I've seen all of the Spain games; they are a joy to watch and poles apart from the mundade English style in the entertainment stakes. Having said that and despite argubably having a favourable draw, if England manage to get past the Netherlands and beat Spain in the final, then it will be deserved, no question. 'You can only beat what's in front of you', as the adage goes.
  19. I vaguely remember the Boxing Day game in 1977. What I remember is that I couldn't see a thing! I would have been 11 at the time, went with my Dad and managed to get on the Longside. I ended up on the shoulders of some guy stood in front.
  20. All the ref needed to do was apply some common sense, or worst case, check with the Accy manager. Anyway, as in the last couple of seasons, it was a good afternoon out, and a pleasure to watch some live football again.
  21. Getting some desperate cash for either Leo or Pears, and promoting Hilton or Eastham, has always been the plan IMO. They'll try and justify it as 'career pathways'.
  22. Instead of 2x60 minute games, it will now effectively be 2x45 minute games. Not much difference really. I've attended this for the last couple of seasons. It's a decent afternoon out, and a reminder of what a proper club looks like.
  23. I used to love watching Busquets, he made the game look so simple. Rodri is cut from the same cloth.
  24. Which would make no commercial sense given our financial plight.
