I have to say that I was definately one of the doubters when Kuqi arrived and I'm still not sure if he has the ability to score regularly in the Premiership. However, he works his arse, he holds the ball up, he ruffles the feathers of defenders and this leads to chances, some of which he has taken and ones that others players have. I would like to see him and Bellamy play and see how it works. I do still think that another striker in January would be good for team, someone like McCarthy or Alex Frei would do the job!

He is inconsistent to the point of driving people insane! Some days he looks like a world beater, then other days the game passes him by. I have always liked him and have never given him some of the stick that he gets. I'd rather have him in the side than not. -

Another excellent result! I didn't expect us to win both games, but we have and it feels great! Also, whatever people say about Kuqi, myself included, he is scoring important goals. That's 5 or 6 for the season I think. Looking forward to the Sunderland game and hopefully another 3 points. -

I'd rather that we won the league game than the cup game to be honest. I don't see us winning both games and it will be very difficult to win one of them. Our defence is looking dodgy and without Bellamy up front, there is no invention in the team. We'll lose to night and hopefully win the league game. -

England getting seeded second was a joke. There was a high possibility that they weren't going to get seeded at all, because of past performances in competitions and the fact that they had a less than impressive qualifing campaign. I would say that they do deserve to be seeded, but second? Not a chance. And for people to think that Brazil are the only team with better quality than England, then it smacks of serious over confidence and lack of respect for the likes of Argentina, France, Czech Republic and Italy. England are no better than any of these teams. -

I saw the highlights of the game on Football First. Some our defending was dreadful and it was surprising, considering how well Zurab has done since he joined. I thought that our penalty was a bit soft and I would have been annoyed if one like that had been given against us. The second and third goals were great finishes, which was good to see, from players that I haven't rated. -

A brilliant result. I thought that it was going to be one of those days, when West Ham scored at the end of the first half, having done nothing going forward. I have always been very critical of Dickov, because I didn't think that he was up to the job. BUt he has scored again, which is his job. Kuqi is another player who I didn't think was up to it, but he comes on and scores the winner! It sounds like our defence was dire, but at least we won and we have players to return. -
Souness is running out of excuses of why his team are playing so badly. He has been playing most of his first team, bar Owen and Luque, but the team have still been playing crap. Maybe he should try the excuse 'I'm just not a very good manager anymore.'

I saw some of the highlights from yesterday's game and we didn't look like we were ever out of the game. All we needed was to take one of our chances and we could have got a draw. I still think that we need another striker to play up along side Bellamy, because Kuqi isn't up to it. Reid played well and his pace enables him to cover the ground in midfield, which Savage is unable to do. It was good to see Thompson back and hopefully he can challenge Emerton for his place.
-
A disappointing result, but apparently we played very well and had plenty of oppurtunities to score. When you get these chances against the better teams, you have to take them, because they will punish you at the other end and that's what happened.

I don't see Keane playing for anyone in the Premiership, mainly because he wouldn't want to go up against his old team. I don't see many of the big European teams wanting him, because they have better alternatives already; Juve have Emerson and Vieria, Bayern have Ballack and Demechilias, Barcelona have Van Bommell and Marquez, Real have Garcia and Gravesen and AC have Gattuso and Pirlo. There's no doubt that at he top of his game, Keane would walk into any of these teams, but not anymore. The one place that I do see him playing and a team that he has said that he would like to play for is Celtic. He would have to take a big drop in wages, but I'm sure that would be the case wherever he went. I don't see him being disrupted influence, because he would be a new member of the team, not the captain and it wouldn't be 'his' team like United were. A midfield of Petrov Lennon Keane and Nakamura looks pretty good to me and as a Celtic fan I would love to see it happen.

He adapted to that role pretty well, when last season he was by far one of the best players in the team and one of the reasons we moved up the table. -

It sounds like this game was pretty dire. I would have settled for a point before the game, because City have been playing well this season. It would have been nice to bring the form we should against Charlton into this game, but it wasn't to be. At least we didn't lose and we are ahead of Newcastle. The day was made better by Celtic beating Rnagers 3-0. Some great goals, some dreadful defending and it was a pleasure to watch Japanese star Shunsuke Nakamura at his very best. He totally destroyed Rangers, with his passing and his ability to go round players. There's a player that we missed out on! -
Everyone always criticises Brazil's defence and I did to in the past. However, in Lucio and Edmilson, Brazil have two world class defenders. They also have Emerson, arguably the best defensive midfielder in the world. I don't see their defence as their weak spot, only the thing that nobody associates with Brazil.

Yesterday's game showed some of the best players in the world, playing at the top of their game. Rooney was brilliant yesterday. His effort that hit the post was brilliant, his goal was well taken and his chip from the edge of the box was out of this world. The only problem with all this is, what would England do without him? I thought that Argentina were the better side and had better chances, but couldn't beat Paul Robinson. In Juan Riqualme, they had best player on the pitch and none of the English team could get close to him. Maxi Rodrguez and Carlos Tevez also had fine games and you could say that Tevez is to Argentina, what Rooney is to England. Roll on the World Cup, where Brazil will probably win it.

Amoruso was a terrible signing by Souness and I couldn't believe how badly Souness wanted him, considering what a mediocre player that he was. I was never confident with him at the back and finally someone (Hughes), has seen the light and dropped him from the first team. Our first choice defenders in Khizianisvili, Todd and Nelsen are so much better, that Amoruso will not get a look in, unless they all become injured. Even if two were injured, I'b be more likely to partner Mokoena with one of them, rather than Amoruso, at least Mokoena has some pace. There's no doubt that Amoruso always gave it his all, but he just isn't good enough and I hope that he is sold in January, to get him off the wage bill. That money could be put to better use.

I'd like to see him play along side Bellamy at least once, just to see what he looks like. I've never been a fan of Dickov's, but he is scoring goals and deserves his place in the team. Jansen will have to be content with coming off the bench at the moment. It would have been ideal for him to come on against Charlton, but Hughes opted for Kuqi. We all know what Kuqi can and cannot do and even though he set up the fourth goal, it would have been good to Jansen get a run out. The club don't owe anything to Jansen and if Hughes thinks he deserves a game, then he'll get one. I hope that he does.

RoyRover replied to Liam0001's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
What an excellent result today! It sounds like every player on the pitch contributed to the team and we thoroughly deserved our 4-1 win. Bellamy's presence makes such a difference to the team, because of his pace and his runs. It's no coincidence that since he has come back into the team, we have been playing well. We have won six out of our last eight games and scored 18 goals in that time. That shows how far we have come since last season. If in January we are able to go out and get another striker, like McCarthy, to play along side Bellamy, then we could finish in the top six. This was just the result we needed after losing to Chelsea and having to travel to Man City next week. Well done boys! By the way, which of our players got injured today? -

This is going to be a very tricky game for Rovers. Charlton have been playing well this season and in Darren Bent have one of the best strikers around. I would have been a lo more confident about this game, had he not been playing. But we are at home and should be confident about getting a win. 2-1 to Rovers, Bellamy and Reid to score. -

It sounds like we did ourselves justive against a very good Chelsea team. I saw the goals on Match Of The Day and there is no doubt that some of them could have been avoided. Our second goal was very lucky. Bellamy is looking like he is getting into the grove of things and this can only be a plus for the team. We have nothing to be ashamed of. Next up is Charlton I think, so another 3 points at home would be most welcome. -

I hope that we go to Chelsea today and give them a good game. We have been to Old Trafford and won, we went to Anfield, got screwed by the ref and still played well. Although Stamford Bridge is a lot different to these games, we should still be pretty confident, especially off the back of two wins. I think that we should play 4-4-2, show some adventure, but get about them and not give them any time on the ball. A draw would be fantastic, anything more would be unbelievable. -

Did you design that Rovers kit? I got Pro Evo 5 the other day and it is brilliant. It is harder than the one's before, but I'm sure that's a good thing. The passing is so much more realistic. However, the default names that they have given to players from Germany and Holland really annoys me. I've had to put all the hours spent watching Euro Sport and Euro Goals to good use, in trying to identify players and edit their names. Does anyone know any websites with the real names of players on it? -

I was delighted with last nights result. It sounds like we played well, with good performances from Tugay, Neill, Emerton and Bellamy. This should keep the confidence within the team very high, going into the game against Chelsea. I would be inclined to bring Emerton back into the team instead of Bentley, who has done little to impress and justify our hopes in him. -

A great win today, against a side who are far too full of their own importance. The first half was crap, with Dickov missing the best chance. We looked better in the second half, winning a dodgy penalty and Bellamy scoring with a cool finish. I thought that Bentley was totally anonimous for us and I thought that Kuqi looked pretty dreadful. His shot, when Bellamy played him in, summed him up. A great 3 points and a couple of places further up the table.
