  1. To be honest 75% of the love I had for football was stripped away the year that West Ham fielded ineligible players and were rewarded with Premiership Football and a free stadium a few years later. The Venkys takeover was what took the last 25%. It fucks me off when people say you're a fair weather fan or some bollocks like that. When we were relegated to the first division the first thing me and my dad did was renew our season tickets. I will not however participate in the club being used as a tool for a cabal to extract money from or use as a way to rearrange your debts or whatever they are doing. I won't be going back until they are gone. Sadly I can't see that being anytime soon. A football club is so much more than a sports team it is a community, especially in a place like Blackburn where there isn't much else going on. Venkys have destroyed this and for that they will never be forgiven. The saddest part of it all is that we are not the only club in this predicament.
  2. This certainly makes the most sense when it comes to explaining our situation. The one thing that a football club has is a guaranteed high rate of turnover. This way they can transfer all their debts to the football club and make their other businesses look far better on the balance sheet. That would make the share price of the other companies more valuable, paying higher dividends blah blah blah. Assuming of course that is what they are doing. It does almost seem that our position in the football league is more so by design than anything else. Venkys don't give a fuck about the club. As long as there is some turnover and they have someone in charge who can keep things idling away whilst turning a blind eye to whatever else may be going on then they are happy. Is it corruption, incompetence or both?
  3. That was excellent as well as hilarious. Is there anything similar out there for the time period between then and now? I remember we were going through a manager a week at one point and there seems to be some suspicion from a few that the club is still being controlled by an agency to some degree. I decided to vote with my feet the day that coward was announced as the manager full time. I feel that is the only power I still have in this situation as a fan. I'm very proud of the fans for making his position untenable. However, the real cancer that is draining the life out of the club is the owners. I have not nor will I attend a match or give a single penny to the club as long as they are involved.
  4. Can someone please link me to the research that people did about how all of this transpired? I left England not long after seeing the chicken on the pitch on telly. This is the first year I've taken any interest in football since then.
  5. Absolutely. You can bomb schools, hospitals and cause the biggest humanitarian disaster on earth and still be "fit and proper "
  6. How do. Was a season ticket holder in the Blackburn End for about nine years. Been a Rovers fan since being an embryo. Not taken any notice in football for about ten years, walked away in disgust after the club was completely destroyed from the inside out. Moved to New Zealand in 2013 and have only just started to take notice again this season. Hope everyone is well.
