Watching Dolan today reminded me so much of Diaz and Rothwell in their last 6 months of contract. -
Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach

Perfectly put. I think he is hoping to still be in the game with 10 mins to play and luckily get a chance to score, same as Stoke away recently. We have nothing to lose so why not just have a go in games! Protests aside I don’t think I could watch a season of what I’ve watched so far under him! -

What is his style of football? We are just turning up to games and that’s it. I’d take hoofball over this nothingness -

I’ve been very critical of Diaz recently but him coming on as a sub in my opinion is a better option, he is clearly not fully fit and should be used like this for the remainder of games. Diego Szmondics is a clear fan’s favourite at the min and his work rate is exceptional. -

The balls lands within the 6yrd box, Pears has to be claiming that rather than standing rooted in his line. BBD would be more use stood on the half way line -

He did that all game with every ball in the air, even off throw-ins he just jumps out of the way of the ball. He is 6ft + and then when the balls in the air he becomes 5ft 7 -
Attack v Defence all game, superb to come back from 2-0 and a real spirited 2nd half! How eager was that ref to end the game, constant time wasting all half and how they only decided it was 5 mins I do not know, score in the 91st and he blows bang on 95…awful ref Also a positive how Leonard put himself about and was very unlucky not to score

The players should have seen that in the keeper and gone at him, but we didn’t and never created enough. If you are blasting it back to your own player on purpose then that’s inexcusable, knock it to the half way line or beyond and then bollock Pickering. I’ll be honest we were not up for it tonight, you have to be at it on a cold night in that shit hole and we simply weren’t. -

No I watched it live at the ground, what was the keeper doing? On keepers did you see the massive air flap by Pears and then the smashed pass/drive back to Pickering in the first half. If anyone looked a bag of nerves it was ours. Can’t fault him in the last 4-5 games but tonight he made me very nervous. In general we were piss poor tonight -

My favourite player is Dolan and I love his attacking flair but he cost us for the 1st two goals, switched off and didn’t fully track back. What pisses me off is our manager is on his wing in the 1st half and wasn’t telling him! He has to do this and for me that’s not acceptable to me. Let’s face it that performance was shit, the score line doesn’t reflect the performance, could and should have been a bigger defeat! Bad day at the coldest ground in the world, hopefully results go our way tomorrow and we go again Rovers! -

Says a lot about a team when their managers needs to stand in the stands for 3 games. -

I’m just glad we held on because I think I would have exploded if we hadn’t, especially given them officials letting Basham off. -

Great performance again, this has been a massive turnaround since January. I’ll admit I wasn’t confident with JDT and I love to be wrong!! Come on Rovers -
Jon Dahl Tomasson - Sweden coach
Staffordshire Rover replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Just keep trying fly out of that window then pal… 2 wide players and Dack just off Gallagher or BBD is another option. All I’m saying is you have to try these things not just say they won’t work. Chucking Chris Samba up front for the last 10-15 mins of game changes things, shouldn’t really do it but it will change a game and put pressure on a team. -
Jon Dahl Tomasson - Sweden coach
Staffordshire Rover replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
The problem is he never makes any significant changes in a game, his subs are like for like. Last night they had 2 defenders injured and we continued to approach the game the same, we never attempted to make changes which could have impacted the game. We are short on quality up front but have never tried playing Gallagher and BBD as a front 2 with wide players. It’s like watching a fly trying to escape through an open window, never learns and keeps hitting the glass instead of going through the open window -
Jon Dahl Tomasson - Sweden coach
Staffordshire Rover replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I disagree, are you saying that the way we played last night is the only way we can play because it’s underfunded. I’m talking about the style of football, he can change things and go more expansive with what we currently have. Dolan and Thomas on either wing a central striker or even 2 would be a significant positive change. But hay you can do that basic change without massive funding -

I’d prefer see a coach who isn't scared to change things, having a proper go (attacking with intent) at home especially against a team who is bottom of the league, his calibre means nothing when we are churning out performances like this.
