Should we have had a penalty.
Yes.
Should Hull have had a player sent off.
Yes.
Would that have resulted in their player clearing off the line.
Yes probably. We might have been 2-1 up.
Should Hull's 2nd goal been disallowed for a blatant foul on Kaminski.
Yes.
Did we deserve to win that game based on our performance.
NO!
That is one of the worst games I gave seen Rovers play in YEARS.
Mowbray changed a successful season to essentially work around 3 missing players.
He put a player on the pitch who looks like he is still at least 3 games off of match fitness in JRC.
Edun although one of our best performers on the night, who looked good in the moment, looked startled at times.
We are painfully missing Pickering and we looked weak at RB.
Khadra went AWOL for large parts of the 2nd half and Gallagher should have been off at half time.
Van Hecke gets played for parts of the 2nd half at RWB that essentially left us open to Hull counter attacks.
The only 4 players who looked eager to push team:
Kaminski - left exposed by Lenihan and Van Hecke
Rothwell - puffing at the end
Brereton Diaz - left feeding off long hoof balls
Markanday - had one of our most exciting attacks in stoppage time before the end in one of the few instances the ball was passed to him after coming on
Our passing was the worst I have ever seen. Playing it underweight into the path of Hull players in our own half.
A massive majority of our attacks were Allarcyce style hoofs up the pitch which Hull dealt with at ease.
We didn't close down the ball until 10 mins before the end of the match. We stood back and invited pressure. Our attacks were painfully slow and easy to organise against.
If we go into the play offs playing like today, we will be out at the first hurdle.
Mowbray will blame the referee.
The referee was crap.
But so were Mowbray's tactics and sub timings. The triple sub being done as Hull scored their 2nd.
Hull could have put more past us. It could have been 3 or 4.
I don't know what happened before the Wigan game.
Mowbray has said he doesn't want to change the team cohesion that has worked so well, so far.
I disagree. We have work to do. Because once this window is over. We have no opportunity to seal the gaps which are blatantly gaping in his squad.
Mowbray will blame the ref. He deserves much respect for the last 10 games before today. But this defeat is a result of him trying to be to clever and not acting to make changes when needed as well as shifting players into different roles which they have excelled at so far this season.
