Everyone on here's been negative but apart from the final ball I'd say we've pretty good. If you don't concede chances and make a fair few of your own then you're doing okay.
Not sure. Even Alan McAnally on Sky saying how bad we've been

Gary Croft.
Forgotten almost signing: Geoff Thomas.

The Riverside used to look much closer to the pitch back then with the old Nuttall St stand camera angle

It's been like that for a good few years now. I remember standing briefly at the top on Manxman Road whilst a couple of night games were on during the late 90s. It was a good vantage point with no trees blocking the view. Just had a look on Google Maps and the park is right next to where I stood back then.
Went to the same spot on Manxman Road about 7 or 8 years ago I think it was, for the nostalgia and to have a look at the ground and was met by the jungle you mention.
The City fans were up there in their numbers back in May 2000 for their promotion game, so it was fine then. I don't think it's been close to 20 years of the jungle. Possibly closer to 10 I'd say, as a guess.
I remember you could see the whole stadium from the train as you passed by. Can see nowt now.

the play off game against chelsea in 1988,the old riverside has benn demolished and the new one had`nt been started, there were loads on the hill, the morning of the game hundreds of chelsea fans were drinking outside the moorings and jumping in the canal(it was a hot day)even so jumping into that stretch of waterway is`nt and was`nt the best advice😷
too early for me. My earliest memory was v Aston Villa in April 1993 where we killed their tile hopes winning 3-0. I remember a fair few on the hill that day. No trees on the hill back then. Now its like the amazon

When was the last time you could see a game from the hill/park behind the Riverside stand?
-
Think there was some French fella Patrick Valery in the 90s under Woy Hodgson. Can't remember much about him except he must have been shite.
-
Did Ashley Ward get a mention yet? Useless.
Most horrible cunt to ever play El Hadji Diouf

Pretty sure most people would still just call it the Riverside anyway regardless... (i know i would)
Also at some point for certain in the next 10 years or so! it really will have to be replaced anyway
Not sure whT you mean by it sounding soulless though, thats just a bit namby pamby. It's called tge Riverside simply because the river runs behind it, just as people will always call tge darwen end "the darwen end" because it has its toes in darwen
RFS bit I meant.

Well we got bummed again in the last match.
That can only mean one thing. A huge win to follow!
I'll be optimistic and say Rovers will win 6-1.
Is the sequence not another defeat or two before the next good win?
-
Why couldn't the Riverside stand be named after Shearer or Dalglish? The RFS Riverside Stand sounds so soulless

I remember Ostenstad coming to Ewood after Kevin Davies's disasterous season, in a rare example of a player exchange with no fee involved. Probably managed to look good by playing next to Ashley Ward, less so playing alongside Jansen.
Kevin Davies. Brutal signing. 7m was it?!
I remember Hodgsons first season was good then a disasrer after that. The recruitment was awful 1995-2000

Wasn't one bit surprised by this defeat. See it time and again. Good performance and win followed by 2-3 defeats then another good performance.

I'd echo the 'strange signing' verdict for now. That was my view when we signed him, for the price we paid anyway, and though he started perfectly with a goal, and has missed a few games through concussion, I haven't seen much to change my impression.
However, it's still very early days, and the people who decided to sign him will have seen more of him than the rest of us combined. Too early to render a real verdict, these are just early impressions. Players sometimes take time to settle and this time next year (or even next month) we could be saying what a good signing it was.Tell him he is Kevin de Bruyne and send him on as sub

Matty "Sherlock' Holmes. A great buy for the club. Possibly the best.

I asked for that the last time I was at Ewood:
Me: Can I have a Chicken Tikka roll?
Kiosk Guy: We don't do that anymore, but I can do you a Chicken Tarka roll.
Me: What's that?
Kiosk Guy: It's like a Chicken Tikka roll, just a little 'otter.
Substituting otter for chicken is not on

Poxy sellouts with no imagination if you ask me. “The Football Curry”, I mean what on earth is that about? The single least inventive name in the history of brand names. £7 for a curry served under a gazebo. If they had anything about them they’d have Kebabish kebab rolls on sale.
How about "Ewood e.coli"as a name?
"Soccer Salmonella"

Nice nough kit but Macron are tight as fuck. Tried on a large and it was like a cycling jersey.
Give me those Asics 90s fit any day

Why did the Blues Bar shut at 10pm last night?
One poxy pint after a good win when should have been guzzling for at least 2 hrs
