  1. Pears is terrible! Why wait? The logical move is to start the new keeper who has (hopefully) been identified as an upgrade by the recruitment team. For example the keeper who Derby started against us had a great game against Middlesbrough but has been benched since then in favour of their new keeper.
  2. I don't get this reasoning. Why wait for one more inevitable horror show? Been given so many chances and clearly cannot be trusted. Even terrible keepers have decent games every once in a while. Just drop him.
  3. I was very sceptical about our chances in this game but we battled hard and could have won the game. Eustace and every player deserves a lot of credit for how we performed today. Horrific performance from the referee and linesman. The "imaginary card rule" is not enforced consistently, thus making it feel like the referee chose to send off Gueye because he wanted to. Especially considering how pathetic the first booking was. A Rotherham player received a similar red card when we played them last season, and it felt unfair back then too. The offside decision was a joke, not even close.
  4. Starting Pears is likely more risky. Again and again he has proven he cannot be trusted.
  5. Our new goalkeeper should be thrown straight into action on Saturday as long as he is match fit. If he doesn't get that vote of confidence we should have signed someone better.
  6. The last transfer windows have been horrible (including this one). The dumbing down just continues. The squad is severely lacking in depth. The wage budget must be one of the lowest in the division. Massive transfer profits are not reinvested into the squad and we are instead looking at short term signings (loans and cheap old players with no resale value) and cheap gambles. There seems to be no long term plan, it's just cost cutting.
  7. It's good that the club has raked in huge transfer profits in the last year because we desperately need some quality signings. The current squad is so lacking in depth that a few injuries would mean we're totally fucked.
  8. How the fuck has Pears not been replaced yet?
  9. Crazy how they massively overpaid for dross like Delap and Muric who are nowhere near Premier league standard. Will be very surprised if they manage to avoid relegation.
  10. No he should be fit and starting. To not be training or playing for 3-4 weeks when a move apparently isn't imminent is a disgrace. I'm not saying it's his fault. Just shows the club is desperate to sell him.
  11. I don't know what the bid is but yes, probably. He is a very good player.
  12. I do think he deserves a move and that he will be sold but I disagree. He is under contract and if Ipswich are making lowball offers he should stay here and get on with it. You don't always get what you want.
  13. Fleck was a panic signing. Horrific injury history and looked unfit even before his body broke down the last time. He won't be a regular starter anywhere because he will be out injured. I cannot imagine Eustace wants him back. Maybe he didn't want to rule out Fleck returning because that would be a bad look if the club decided to crawl back to Fleck with an offer.
  14. I think expectations were just even lower before these signings. It looked like the likes of Vale and Markanday could be starting a lot of games next season.
  15. Can we please sign a decent goalkeeper now with just a week left until the season starts?
  16. Surprised to see fans on here wanting him back. He didn't start many games and I thought he looked unimpressive as our poor run of form just went on and on. Of course he is young and has good physical attributes but still seems like a gamble for that fee.
  17. Correct. But we shouldn't forget that he will be "like a new signing". Like Travis and Hedges.
  18. Pathetic to be signing 37 year old McFadzean now after allowing him to miss pre-season.
  19. While it might be his biggest strength, Vale still has a horrific goalscoring record. Poor player at this level and has already been given too many chances.
  20. Even worse when JRC, Sigurdsson and Hedges get injured.
  21. Maybe that's what Gestede meant when he said that he would improve communications. That he would create an brfcs account and anonymously interact with the fans.
  22. Worrying that we haven't signed a new goalkeeper yet. Pears is a major liability and needs to be replaced. It shouldn't be difficult to make an upgrade. Just as an example Ben Wilson might be Coventry's third choice keeper now after they signed Oliver Dovin. Too expensive?
  23. Likely any interested club just has to make a lowball offer and wait for Waggott to call a few days before the transfer window closes.
  24. Does it have to be one extreme or the other? It's just one of the things that made him sound like a yes man.
