  1. We can get through the first 15% of games with what we’ve got, nobody is suggesting we make all our signings on deadline day either
  2. That is not true, the Armstrong money is still available to spend
  3. It’s not the recruitment department playing these games, we’ve enough as it is to get through those 5 weeks
  4. There’s 5 weeks, that’s plenty of time 👍
  5. Not far out of budget with the Armstrong money still untouched, if JP is a loan you’re only looking at 5/6M
  6. Styles Bowler Van Hecke Morton (Loan fwd/cb), that’s the dream window
  7. Yeah but that’s not an urgent need for me, we’re now in a position of ‘we need these players before the window closes’ rather than ‘before the season starts’ which gives us plenty of time to find the right players
  8. Rothwell only needs replacing as a body, people talk about how unique and special of a player he is but is there much need for his type of player in a possession based side?
  9. I don’t think there’s an ‘urgent’ need for any signings, in the sense that we could survive August relatively strongly with what we have now
  10. There’s no need for ‘established champ players’ as squad options for RB LB and GK, they’re not really positions that you rotate, only get changed if a player is injured
  11. For me he’s not a modern full back, he’s just a centre half who can run
  12. Alternatively if you want to look at is an ‘average of ability’ the midfield 2 are better overall than the 3
  13. If for comparisons sake you want to toss it up and call it a CB pairing of Ayala/Carter + Wharton and a midfield 3 if Hedges Buckley Travis then my point stands that the centre backs are just as strong and the midfield is just as strong if not better
  14. Yes as a midfield 2 it’s stronger than that as a midfield 3, otherwise we argue the backline is better because it has 3 CBs rather than 2
  15. Nyambe’s defensive capabilities were limited past 1 on 1 defending, awareness and positioning was poor
  16. The perspective is how confident in that player are you then v now, I’m far more confident in that front 3 take than I would’ve been going into last season
  17. Why? It’s as strong a midfield, if not better
  18. Kaminski=Kaminski Brittain>Nyambe Ayala, Carter, Wharton=Ayala Lenihan Pickering = Pickering Buckley Travis=Buckley Rothwell Travis Dolan Gallagher Díaz>Dolan Gallagher Díaz
  19. I’m arguing that Buckley, Dolan, Gallagher, Brereton are all better than they were last year, Brittain is better than Nyambe, the systems differing makes comparison slightly trickier however
  20. Seen St Johnstone suggested as a destination for James Brown, down to supposed interest in Jan, that’s either a miscommunication or a hilarious coincidence given their current right back is Maltese international James Brown.
  21. Can’t see accy, already have a great RB in Mitch Clark, I reckon he goes somewhere in Scotland
  22. We’re in a stronger position now than this time last year, and we’re in a position now where it we start the season with this squad we’re fine, more than capable of beating QPR with what we have.
  23. Flip side of that, even a week later we still have more signings, we were 3 games into last season when we made our first signing
