  1. I don't really remember thinking of him as excellent. At the time, there wasn't any obvious gulf between the two, resulting in Pears keeping his place.
  2. At the time, I didn't think there was much in it to be honest, I thought Pears probably suited the way Tomasson wanted to play rather than Kaminski. Pears was by far the better with the ball at feet, especially in tight areas. Kaminski definitely improved the longer he stayed out of the team, as per most players.
  3. Tomasson obviously didn't think he was "far superior", or he'd have put him straight back in. There is no grey area here,no ulterior motive at play, Tomasson preferred Pears.
  4. Tomasson selected him, justification enough, you just never got over that he rated Pears over Kaminski.
  5. There will be transfers, of that there is no doubt. In what form God knows, but we will get players. It's more the question of who picks them which needs confirmation.
  6. Just can't imagine not renewing to be honest. I just hope that Ismael and the club are in line with transfer policy, whatever it is, and if indeed there is one. We surely can't have another "who picks the players to sign" situation. If it's Gestede or if it's Ismael then so be it, as long as Ismael is happy with the situation. The half arsed disaster of Eustace and Tomasson is no good to anyone.
  7. Once Batth is fit, our best chance of a decent run in, is to try to regain the form of the back 7 players, now Tronstad is back, and that includes Pears in goal. We're also largely dependent on Beck and Pickering recovering quickly and getting up to speed. If we can regain anything like the defensive solidity of earlier in the season, and with Gueye now looking like a proper centre forward, it's the only way I see us having even half a chance.
  8. Other than come on here and call other fellow Rovers fans happy clappers, what have you done that makes you a non happy clapper? That phrase proper gets on my tits.
  9. Suppose the number of times you go behind has to be as much of a factor as how many points you gain.
  10. That's stark. What I would say is there is a difference this time, we're going into the final furlong under a new coach. You'd hope him and Whitehead would be on top of any drop in intensity. We're also looking in a good place injury wise, Baath returning would also be a major boost.
  11. No I don't, but as much as I like and appreciate Tronstads qualities, he obviously isn't such a dynamic player as to change the momentum of a game so dramatically. Great to have him back, and also having Forshaw up to speed to slot in when needed. It might allow for a little bit of rotation if and when we're on top.
  12. I'd say, the way they came right back at us and opened us up twice in quick succession, all be it with 10 men, would prove the opposite.
  13. I said it could be argued either way, but I thought they had more or less settled for what looked like an inevitable draw. It's often said it's difficult to break down 10 men, but they soon did it, and would have had another but for a good save from Pears. The way they opened us up so easily (all be it against 10 men) would suggest to me that it was them who stepped off the gas, rather than the other way round.
  14. It could be argued either way, but for me, Tronstad came on when Norwich had more or less settled for the draw. There's obviously no comparison between the two players overall, but I don't think we're comparing eggs with eggs on this one. I know we were down to 10, but when Norwich went for the win, they scored.
  15. Thought Forshaw did fine today,to me the improvement looked more down to Hedges coming on.
  16. Only seen it live but looked a great save from Pears to keep it at 1-0, although I didn't think it would make any difference. Turned out to be as important as the goal.
  17. Agree, looks like a good fit to me. I'm feeling optimistic. Big game tomorrow I feel, a win to take to Derby would be massive, looking forward to being there.
  18. Are we to assume from that video that Pickering is closer to returning than Beck?
