  1. The stats show his proper assist against Derby wasn't an assist when it clearly was. Is he quality, obviously not. But if we'd signed a, "quality" forward with Gueye's numbers in front of goal, however they came about, we'd be happy. I'm surprised by the figures, but pleasantly surprised. It should also be noted, those figures are playing in a team which doesn't exactly score freely.
  2. Players at our level of investment will always miss chances, he missed the sitter against Stoke. Then again the "assist" against Derby was ridiculously taken away from him. I don't know why accepting that he's been effective is such a struggle. His goal involvement per time on the pitch is excellent. If you want, for whatever reason, to try to argue it away, the figures will still be there. Long may it continue as far as I'm concerned.
  3. Whether an assist is intentional or not is immaterial, if he wasn't there the goal wouldn't have been scored. I don't know if the figure includes the one for Dolan against Derby, but if not that's another one really. We wanted an effective centre forward, the stats say we've got one.
  4. With playing In the last 5 wins, you probably assumed he was playing in the 6th I'd assume.
  5. Thought he was outstanding today, man of the match for me.
  6. I'm guessing Weimann and Siggurdson will be back for those, Carter won't be, so who are the other 6 Eustace was on about?
  7. So many times it's Dolan that sets the tempo, Ohashi and Cantwell are now getting up to speed and it's a 3 man close down from the front. Dolan's defensive play is, in my opinion, the reason why Cozier-Duberry isn't getting a game from the start. Although he hasn't had much game time, I can't say I've seen anything from him which would tempt me to sacrifice Dolan's workrate to gamble on playing him.
  8. It was a bit of a dog wi fleas, but yet another brilliant result. Yet again, no need to single anyone out for criticism, just a triumph for team spirit. Eustace and his coaching team are squeezing out every ounce. If I could vote for Eustace for man of the match tonight I would do. A win for man management as much as anything else
  9. Thought he was at least as good as anyone else, at least until Mac came on😁
  10. It's an area of the side which brought the penalty against Leeds and the winner yesterday. Agreed about Beck being pushed forward, that's what I meant by Pickering replacing Hedges.
  11. Agree with that, unless Pickering is fit to return for Hedges. Do we know why he missed out yesterday?
  12. Let him carry on, I love how he plays 10 minutes but leads the celebrations. He's our answer to that bloke in Boney M
  13. There's no doubt that the whole squad has bought into the work ethic needed, hats off to Eustace for that one. Obviously the results help, but he's also managing to bring the fans along with him and the team. It is difficult to pinpoint, but although it's like we play with a defensive 6 plus Pears, the front 4 don't half put a shift in. We're defending all over the pitch, not just at the back.
  14. A victory for endeavour if ever I've seen one. Terrible conditions making for a terrible game but a brilliant result. Once again, like the Boro game, no need to single anyone out for criticism, another team win with another clean sheet, and without player of the season up to now, Travis. Looks like we've a bloke in charge who knows what he's doing.
  15. To be honest, Gueye did at Hull what Hedges should have done at Preston. Either take the net out or put it out the stadium.
  16. My mate messaged me, imagine the reaction if Pears let that in. Conditions were terrible, but you're right, it was a mistake.
  17. Yeah, hoping for a draw, but Boro should have wrapped up the points. That header was a sitter and another couple of chances.
  18. I wouldn't say next few, he isn't that inconsistent, but he's always likely to throw in a stinker, but who isn't? The thing with Dolan is that when we do lose, or sometimes even draw, he can receive an unrealistic amount of stick for an overall poor team performance.
  19. And yet he was rightly named man of the match on Saturday. Doesn't sound like the player you described.
  20. He'd be right, although to be fair, Arsenal can play some great stuff.
  21. Poor defending from United there, nobody picked up Fashanu from Laurie Sanchez's corner.
  22. Correct decision, great performance. He's as capable of being our best player as he is of having a bad un. He's a very important squad member. Just why the "Hedges and Dolan" thing ever started, I've no idea, Dolan is much more valuable to Rovers.
  23. Norwich, when Tronstad apologised for his own mistake. That pass to the edge of the area is a big part of how Rovers play, it's played umpteen times a game. That we're talking about 2 instances in dozens of games where it went wrong but didn't actually cost us a goal would suggest it works rather well.
  24. You're rewriting history, Tronstad called for the ball, Pears got his angles right and bailed him out. Most importantly it was Tronstad who apologised, I don't know how much evidence you need.
  25. I always say that the one thing Dolan does is set the tempo, and now Ohashi is looking like he's up to speed to help him,and Cantwell doesn't shirk his responsibilities either.
