John Eustace - our head coach

Tell me you didn't -
I've heard it from a few Burnley fans, apparently if Gueye hadn't been sent off, Burnley would have won 🙄
-
These early kick offs are playing havoc with the grandkids' footy.

Don't really understand the clamour to drop Dolan. He's been instrumental in an excellent start to the season. There's nobody better at setting the tempo, I'd be very surprised if Eustace doesn't start him on Saturday.

Interesting one on Pears, pre Bristol there was an almighty clamour for Toth to start that game. Not one person had Toth in their starting 11 for the Preston game. Pears' record going back to the last few games of last season is not one of a keeper who should be dropped. -
Dolan has played well this season, more than anyone else he sets the tempo and the workrate that should be expected. This team needs to graft to achieve anything, I'd be very surprised if he doesn’t start on Saturday.

I think Eustace is managing to eek out results, whilst still understandably trying to find his "best" starting 11. At this stage, I'd say most managers are in a similar position, and for now we're coping with it better than most. -
Exactly, 12 points from 6 games is an excellent start.

I would imagine that they wouldn't have happened without his say so. I think all this "we sign them and you have to coach them" stuff is for the birds. -

Yeah, I'd guess nothing happens in terms of team affairs without Eustace's say so,or at the very least his involvement. -

I don't honestly think he's a bloke who really cares about job description. Obviously I'm only going off what I see and read, but he appears to know what he wants and demands of others to get it. I never really went with the recruitment/coaching division thing that was banded about. -

Since the transfer window closed, everyone else has stepped into the background. To me, there is no doubt that he is in total control of the playing side, much more than just being the coach. -
It seems it to me as well, the team selection is becoming more and more difficult.

It's easy to say whilst results are going well, but despite his head coach title, there seems no doubt that Eustace is running the show. -
We've just won 3-0,any season out of the last 13 or 14 at least ,it would be same again. The options right now are unbelievable, given we’ve spent next to nothing. I'll bet we get up to 12 to 15 different combinations on here by Sunday. I think I'd actually go the same except Gueye up front, Dolan left and Ohashi behind Gueye. I'm sure we're all actually trusting Eustace to get it right.
-
It's interesting that you should refer to him as the manager, because that is how he comes across. Transfer window is closed, everyone else has melted into the background, and there is absolutely no doubt that Eustace is running the show.
-
I would imagine they would have to man/woman/person the area for a busiest case scenario.
-
We were always going to be of a different opinion on this one. I was happy to leave last season and give him a fresh start, which you questioned more than once. You were always going to carry last season's form into this season.
-
Don't you think that the situation Eustace inherited last season had a bearing on how he set his team up, ie don't lose? Last season was always going to be a needs must situation, completely different from starting the new campaign after having a pre season.
-
Nowt wrong with a bit of luck. I don't think anyone envisaged us getting anything from those 2 away games. The Leicester game was written off, the only way we were staying up was other teams slipping up.
-
Can you remember a particular mistake?
-
This is the problem, would it be so difficult to acknowledge the other 3 performances? The save from Winks was something else, and probably kept us up. He was faultless at Leeds and even played a part in the winning goal.
-
One mistake in one game cancels out 3 clean sheets, including Leeds and Leicester? You're setting any new keeper a high bar.
-
He kept 3 clean sheets out of the last 4 games of last season, including a phenomenal save at Leicester which probably kept us up. It's really easy to highlight only one side of the argument.
