  1. If we're talking last season, he did finish with 3 clean sheets out of the last 4 games including Leeds and Leicester, meaning we've lost 1 in the last 8 with him in goal. I don't think anyone is arguing that we can improve on Pears, but if I was Eustace, I'd be thinking now is not the time to change. It could create all sorts of problems going forward.
  2. Bit of a poor comparison, any keeper is more than capable of playing every game, where outfield players aren't. The only quotes I've seen from Eustace are regarding Pears needing competition. Would he be number one at any other club? No idea, but half the teams have conceded more goals if that's any indication.
  3. Toth may come straight in, who knows? But I'd suggest any chance of that happening all but disappeared with the start the team has made.
  4. Rumoured today we're getting a goal keeping coach from Stanley, name of Dibble.
  5. No it isn't the case. If you're so against Pears playing, I don't see how you can think picking him is the easier decision.
  6. To me, it's s still a big contradiction to think Pears is so bad, yet think Eustace will pick him next Saturday.
  7. If it's so obvious that Pears should be dropped, why are you so convinced that Eustace will play him next week?
  8. As we're talking hypotheticals, if Toth had started the season exactly the same as Pears, who would drop him?
  9. I don't think there was support of the decision to play Pears over Kaminski, it was the constant denial and excuses that were dreamed up, rather than accept that Tomasson obviously chose him and rated him over Kaminski.
  10. Has he played well? I suppose it's all about keeping the ball out of the net. He hasn't been culpable for any of the goals, but he hasn't kept a clean sheet. He's got away with two or three, so well might be pushing it, but overall the team has overachieved, and he's part of that unbeaten team.
  11. I certainly wouldn't try to preempt a mistake, not with the start we've made. As I've said, dropping Pears now for whoever was the other keeper, Ruddy or otherwise, would potentially leave any manager with a future headache. You're automatically assuming that Toth will be better than Pears. If I had been given a keeper to work with, I would be thinking what if he isn't? I'd be thinking, why would I change a keeper I know, when we're unbeaten and 5th in the league, for a keeper I don't know? It isn't shying away from making a decision, it's making the decision at the right time.
  12. You know my opinion, you've just replied to it. I hope Toth is the best keeper we've ever had, but I don't think Eustace will play him yet, nor would I for the reasons I've given, unless it's a forced change of course.
  13. It could be that he plays Toth, but I'd be amazed, unless there's an injury obviously.
  14. And Toth could make an almighty cock up or 2 in his first 2 games, then where does that leave Pears, Toth and Eustace? Would that mean Pears goes straight back in? If not, why not? You're not thinking of the bigger picture. If you're going to drop Pears from a team which is 5th having not lost a game, you're saying that Toth is your number 1. Toth then has to be almost mistake free, he most definitely has to be defeat free. One or two defeats after an unbeaten start would leave Eustace in a right mess. I don't think he will drop Pears, I don't think he should drop Pears, it will happen as and when it's necessary.
  15. I only know because someone was saying over the weekend Dolan against Derby, Hedges at Norwich, Siggurdson against Oxford, and Weimann.
  16. I'm guessing Eustace won't want to box himself into a corner with Toth. We're unbeaten in 5th with Pears in goal. If he drops Pears and plays Toth and Toth doesn't put a foot wrong, happy days. If he drops Pears and Toth isn't ready/ has a couple of stinkers, where does that leave Eustace? Keep playing a keeper who he feels isn't ready, or put Pears back in? I think he'll keep Pears in for the foreseeable.
  17. I just can't see him changing that 7 at the back, but I suppose we'll see. It isn't just Pears he'll be looking at over the next 2 weeks.
  18. Fair comment,if he was to change things, I suppose it would give some idea who he blames.
  19. Barring injury, I'd be very surprised if Eustace changed a back 5 plus 2 midfielders that haven't lost a game. Ohashi definitely starts, so perm 3 from about 8 for the other 3 places.
  20. Reading their forum, they're comforting themselves saying that the sending off benefitted US. Despite the fact we carved them open twice second half with 10,never mind 11. And we're deluded???
  21. My mate was criticising us this morning for celebrating a draw. I said I'm not celebrating, I'm actually disappointed we didn't win. It's massive credit to Eustace that yesterday's game turned into the game we wanted to play rather than the other way round. It was a Hughes like performance, he got every ounce out of every player.
  22. Agree with the second one, the first one is different. If Dolan tried to square it and it got cut out, or if Weimann is given offside, he's castigated for not shooting.
