  1. Ironic thing is, given the choice I'd pick Ruddy over Trafford.
  2. Dingles want a sale, unsurprisingly. More thinking it might shove Ruddy out.
  3. Just on Talksport, Newcastle want Trafford on loan, Dingles want a sale.
  4. I'll be there on Tuesday, and hope we win, but all I'm really bothered about is doing whatever it takes to be in the best position on Saturday.
  5. Of all the positions, whether it's Ruddy or not, I'd be inclined to give Eustace the last word on the keeper. I don't mind having a bit of a gamble on any other appointment, but it's crucial we get the keeper right, and Eustace is happy with who comes in. As we all know, it's an easy one to get horribly wrong.
  6. Maybe Eustace remembers the players as ones who were in the play off places when he left, rather than ones who went down under Rooney.
  7. Agree completely, most importantly Eustace should be alive to the reasons why we shouldn't sign him, rather than why we should. I've no idea why Eustace would go out on a limb to try to sign an ex player he wasn't sure about.
  8. Did we pay anything for them? Shows what you can get for nowt when you do your homework. It's a two way street as far as I'm concerned, yes you have to trust the recruitment team, but if Eustace has previous knowledge of a player he feels can fill a hole, and is the right price, it would be mad to ignore it.
  9. I've no idea why you'd have an aversion to Eustace showing an interest in ex players he knows and trusts.
  10. I've had 3 messaging this week bemoaning the strength of their squad, I shit you not. Two of them from Sunderland today. That's after spending over 30 million this summer alone. They're definitely not confident.
  11. Old fella said to me on the way out, if we play like that next week we'll get hammered. We are blagging it a bit, but long may it continue. Bit of luck with the equaliser, longest 1 minute extra I've ever seen, but we'll take it, we definitely needed it. There are important points up for grabs with all teams getting up to speed, and all squads still to add players. The more we can hoover up before the end of September the better, it's a long season for a light squad. Fantastic finish for the winner.
  12. I'm sure the full members match was the one in the fog.
  13. Have to keep an eye on him, be interesting how he does at a bigger club with higher expectations.
  14. Rush worth would be great, it's the shot in the dark foreign option I'd be worried about. Not against taking a gamble, just not right now with only Pears on the books.
  15. I didn't "write him off", I said he had a shocker against Watford, which he did. As shaky as Pears sometimes is, I can't remember him costing 3 in one game.
  16. I'd be happier going down the tried and tested route, even if It means signing an "oldie". With having only Pears, it's imperative we get this one right. Keeper is such an easy one to get wrong, you only have to watch the highlights show to realise that. You'd sometimes think Pears is the only dodgy keeper in the league, have a look at Johansson's performance for Stoke against Watford.
  17. It is interesting, we're in decent company there, it backs up the view that we've definitely become more resilient.
  18. I've never understood the "I'd sign him but not at that price, or wages" point of view,as if we've all to chip in every week. If there's one club right now which isn't going stretch itself, it's Blackburn Rovers, honestly, don't worry yourselves over it.
  19. That's always the danger, but having secured a much better sell on than Birmingham did, Wharton could well end up fetching more than Bellingham.
