  1. Mate's lad was there doing a training session that was laid on a couple of weeks ago. They had a tour of the training facilities, and Hedges was in there.
  2. Bellingham has just won the Champions League playing for Real Madrid, he's one of the most coveted players in the world, after being one of the most coveted youngsters, leaving Birmingham when he was only 17. We got £7 million less for Adam Wharton, i think your comparison does your argument no favours.
  3. Bowen is a goalscorer, they come at a premium, which is why I made the comparison. We could be well over £30 million with a sell on fee, for a Championship player, I think it's a fair price.
  4. It's the......... after playing 13 Premier League games bit, that's the argument. A Championship player will always have his ceiling, Bowen went to West Ham for £22 million after scoring 52 goals in 3 seasons for Hull, that now looks ridiculously cheap. Wharton will bring in the minimum £22 million, and much more when he leaves Palace for big money. To think we'd get much more as a Championship club, with his scoring/ assist record is a bit fanciful.
  5. Didn't realise the Dingles had released Gudmundsson, I wouldn't be upset if we were in for him.
  6. Really, really pleased Bowen has made the cut. Well deserved for a player who came through the Championship and always puts a shift in.
  7. He's already surpassed every manager except Alf Ramsay. The stick Southgate gets is mad.
  8. To be fair, even that would be a better suggestion than letting him go for free, just to get his wages off the books. 🙄
  9. I'd rather have Colin Pitchfork than Kean, hope this answers your question.
  10. I understand that some won't be able to afford to pay for a ticket in full, but for those who can, £15 a game for an adult is a fair price in itself, but £16 for a lad and dad is fantastic value.
  11. Their biggest asset would be Brownhill, one of the main men in their title win, although that "retained" list is well short of what they went up with. I haven't met a Burnley fan yet who doesn't think they are well short from the team that gained promotion. They'll be strong, but that core of strong, experienced players that Kompany inherited has either left, is leaving and is 2 years older whether or not.
  12. Apparently Brownhill,Taylor, Rodriguez, Cork and Gudmundson are all leaving, as I say, apparently. Barnes was obviously their most important, along with Harwood Bellis, Maatsen and Tella, none of whom are still there. I've no doubt forgotten a few. Their squad this time will be nothing like, although the 2 you mention would get in any Championship team, although Berge is tipped to leave.
  13. Absolutely, there's no hardcore of Championship hardened players in their squad this time around.
  14. Upside down reckoned the figure to be 4000 the other day. I'd say it's at least that number. If they're being sincere, then no amount of discount would tempt them to buy a ticket. A failure to acknowledge this situation makes any comparison with other clubs null and void. As you've said yourself many times, we're not a "normal" club.
  15. .... or the owners leave, and the 15000 people who've told me over the years that they're only staying away because of Venkys, come flooding back 🙄
  16. Kompany had a core of a squad of existing players upon which he built, Barnes, Cork and Brownhill being as important as anyone in that promotion season. He then spent £30 million on top. Any new manager has a lot more on his plate.
  17. I'd have more hope of Leonard making it alongside Gallagher.
  18. I'd rather keep him, even at that money. I honestly don't think we'll get offered anywhere near that, least of all from Everton.
  19. I'm thinking round about that figure for a potential bid. I don't think anyone will offer enough for Rovers to be tempted, I'd be both shocked and furious if we accepted anything in the £6 million bracket. My main worry would be if a Prem club made an unsatisfactory offer, yet Szmodics made it clear he wanted to go. Not a good situation.
  20. Replacing Szmodics' goals will be a big problem, as was replacing Brereton's before him, and Armstrong before him. The conundrum being, Gallagher partnered/played alongside all 3 prolific goalscorers, yet the answer to the problem seems to be to get rid of him for nothing. It would seem an odd solution.
