  1. It's more the money side, Gallagher was the biggest earner and Rovers were offered a fee for him as well. If it was a matter of money, Gallagher would have been first out of the door.
  2. Never really believed it was a money thing to be honest,it never really added up.
  3. It is strange bringing it up,it's all over this thread. It's also strange that anyone would want our own manager, any manager, to appear to have a worse record, I've never really thought about it that way before.
  4. When you think about it, it was a strange situation that some were so vehemently opposed to crediting Eustace with the Stoke win.
  5. I don't remember anyone predicting it would sell out, quite the opposite considering the price.
  6. If it's the Swansea McBurnie, I'd take him tomorrow. Just seems to have lost his way a bit, maybe he needs a spell being the main man again.
  7. Bit harsh, came at him quickly and he cleared it where he could. I didn't think at the time he did a lot wrong.
  8. Eustace is squeezing every ounce out of a limited squad, we will inevitably sometimes come up short. Don't really think Millwall did enough to deserve the win but they put their chance away and Cozier-Duberry missed ours. Those are the margins in a Championship where there's a fag paper between a lot of teams. The lads should be proud of their achievements up to now, 5th on Christmas day is a remarkable position.
  9. Think going down to 10 was probably more of a factor
  10. No issue with anyone commenting on anything, I just never saw the point in carrying it into this season. Yourself and R99 obviously did, difference of opinions, that's all.
  11. The complaint, as I remember it, was that we hadn't won a game. The focus only switched to "home" games after we'd won a couple away.
  12. Some was undoubtedly valid, but he was brought in to do a job and thankfully did it. I just never saw the need to carry Stokegate and the rest of it into this season. There is no doubt that a poor start would have seen his record from last season being carried into this one,it has been left behind because of our excellent start.
  13. As I said after the Leicester match, I'd give him a clean slate from the start of the new season. Never saw the point of carrying the hand wringing of last season into this one, considering the situation he inherited.
  14. There you go, an insight into how this board would have looked if we'd started poorly.
  15. You can tell he's doing well, there's virtually no criticism of his interviews any more. Also, his record from last season isn't mentioned any more( until this thread). Pound to a penny,if we'd had a poor start, it would have been dragged into the conversation at every opportunity. Thankfully, Stokegate is a thing of the past. As painful as it was, there's no doubt that his time in charge last season is now looking like a real bonus for preparing for the current one.
  16. Pleased for Eustace actually, he's been spreading the gospel about team and fans unity since he came in. Meanwhile, he'll only be pleased for his players that they're getting the backing, that's the kind of coach he is.
  17. The stats show his proper assist against Derby wasn't an assist when it clearly was. Is he quality, obviously not. But if we'd signed a, "quality" forward with Gueye's numbers in front of goal, however they came about, we'd be happy. I'm surprised by the figures, but pleasantly surprised. It should also be noted, those figures are playing in a team which doesn't exactly score freely.
  18. Players at our level of investment will always miss chances, he missed the sitter against Stoke. Then again the "assist" against Derby was ridiculously taken away from him. I don't know why accepting that he's been effective is such a struggle. His goal involvement per time on the pitch is excellent. If you want, for whatever reason, to try to argue it away, the figures will still be there. Long may it continue as far as I'm concerned.
  19. Whether an assist is intentional or not is immaterial, if he wasn't there the goal wouldn't have been scored. I don't know if the figure includes the one for Dolan against Derby, but if not that's another one really. We wanted an effective centre forward, the stats say we've got one.
  20. With playing In the last 5 wins, you probably assumed he was playing in the 6th I'd assume.
  21. Thought he was outstanding today, man of the match for me.
  22. I'm guessing Weimann and Siggurdson will be back for those, Carter won't be, so who are the other 6 Eustace was on about?
  23. So many times it's Dolan that sets the tempo, Ohashi and Cantwell are now getting up to speed and it's a 3 man close down from the front. Dolan's defensive play is, in my opinion, the reason why Cozier-Duberry isn't getting a game from the start. Although he hasn't had much game time, I can't say I've seen anything from him which would tempt me to sacrifice Dolan's workrate to gamble on playing him.
