Agree with you here, Khadras actual output was poor he was just rapid so it got people excited. Hedges already has as many assists this season as Khadra did all of last season.

I was fully in camp sell brereton early in the summer just because I couldn’t see how we could afford to miss out on a multi million pound sale. However when you see the standard of the league this year, there’s no stand out team. Add that to the start we’ve had and the possibility that JDT has more about him then Mowbray. I’d be tempted to keep him and gamble, see if he can fire us up. It will be much harder next year when parachute teams that are more cash happy come back down.

Can’t see the Phil jones thing being remotely true because he’d never drop that low in wages but if he wants to come here within our current wage structure it’s a no brainer for me he’d obviously be committed he’s not doing it for the money. No idea about Mowbrays January money etc but no chance he was going to be able to sign Jed Wallace, we couldn’t afford his wages and Millwall were never selling their best player when they were in the middle of a playoff battle.

According to Wikipedia he’s already on loan at another club this season so don’t see how this is a possible signing. Or at best it’s one for next season onwards.

I know people love a rumour to talk about but the 3 signings we’ve made have been pretty much, story, signing within a couple of days. Brittain was a story and announced in 24 hours, Morton the same except Liverpool kept him an extra week to play a friendly. The only one that was out there a bit longer before was smzodics and that’s because Peterborough owner and DOF went very public which is what they do. Probably why GB didn’t thank them like he did with Barnsley and Liverpool. less to talk about on here but I would imagine it will be a similar story, rumour to announced very quickly whenever that is.

For what it’s worth smzodics scored only 3 less goals than Dack in Peterborough’s league 1 promotion compared to Dack in ours. Fair to say our team was much better as they went straight back down and we stayed up comfortably. Surely with a 46 game season there’s plenty of room and playing time for both of them.

I’m basing it on the club spending a chunk of their budget on his exact position. Odd thing to do if they plan on Dack being a key man. Could have signed a young lad on loan for insurance over his injuries. We aren’t spending 1-2m on someone to sit on the bench add that to GBs comments about SS playing centrally.

I think this is the difficulty with the opinions of Dack, pre knee injuries he’s the first name on the team sheet for me. Last season when he played he was 10 yards off the pace and running in treacle. I don’t want him to leave and would give him a chance this season first up but it doesn’t appear the club are thinking along those lines.

I don’t mind loan signings if they are to bulk out the squad, if we sign 6 and 2 are loans I have no issue. The problem comes when we sign 6 and 5 of them are loans because you end up having to find 5 signings minimum again next summer. based on some of the comments this won’t please people but lots of similarities to Farke first season at Norwich. Lots of first teamers left and a new football structure and style of play was put in place they finished 14th they then won the league the next season. I could see a similar season for us (14th) while JDT implements what he wants and Gregg provides the players required over 2/3 windows. the big question would then be is JDT anywhere near Farke as a manager and can he push on. Id imagine his project talk would grate on plenty of people if it’s backed up by multiple seasons of mediocrity. Exactly the same as Mowbrays journey comments, nobody minded it first season back up from league 1 but rightly so after 4 mid table finishes people questioned exactly what this journey was.

The biggest sign for me that Dack is on his way Or at least relegated to an impact sub role is that we are spending somewhere around 2.5m on a number 10. Given what our budget probably is that’s a decent chunk on it. Can’t see smzodics sitting on the bench if we are spending that on him.

I said this on here last night, I sit right by the dugout and at the end JDT shook hands with everyone on the bench and gave them a hug. Dack didn’t embrace him and barely touched his hand then went straight down the tunnel while everyone else came on the pitch! I’ve no issue with players wanting to play but there is ways to go about it. Dack is one of the senior pros in the team it doesn’t set a great example to the young lads does it. my personal opinion is JDT doesn’t fancy Dack, for whatever reason. I think the smzodics signing proves that because JDT had obviously said to Gregg go out and get me a number 10 that can do X, Y and Z. Personal prediction Dack isn’t a rovers player on 1st September.

Based on Dacks attitude today I don’t think he’ll be a rovers player by the end of the window.

This may be a wild theory but I wonder if JDT thinks he can turn Dack into a genuine number 9 (not false 9). If we are spending that much on someone who plays 10 and is excellent at pressing. Dack is probably the best finisher at the club and JDT made a career at the highest level out of scoring goals without having any standout physical attributes.

Should we really be guaranteeing playing time to a 17 year old? If that’s what he’s demanding or we are using to sway him let him go, every minute anyone plays should be fully earned by hard work not to fend off vultures. sounds like this one might not be on waggot and more on the system but it just seems like everything at rovers is an issue. The poor handling of Mowbray leaving, the lack of proactivity with players contracts, moving at a snails pace to hire a new manager and DOF, the slower then slow work in the transfer market, season ticket and match day ticket prices. Everything just seems to be slow, backwards, incompetent or all 3!

So to sum up, nothing is happening? Or nothing that we are aware of is happening. find it odd we are not in for the Oxford lad seems to fit the mould for what we want and the type of player we like to sign. This has made me doubt the recruitment to be honest.
