  1. This is a serious problem on this board, people just make up facts and statistics to make a point! You are way off. Coyle signed 5 players before a ball was kicked all of them in the squad for the first game against Norwich: stokes, Byrne, Hendrie, Greer, feeney- if you include Graham who signed on a permanent then it’s 6 players. The issue wasn’t not signing the issue was signing absolute tosh. Surely the only time to judge is when the window is closed? If we’ve not added or it’s just kids on loan we are all right to have a meltdown but we won’t know until then. if we end up with van hecke on a permanent in August surely that’s better then rushing out and signing someone of a lower quality early in the window? I also think waggots getting off lightly here, broughton seems to get all the stick but in his defence he wasn’t hired until July! If waggot had pulled his finger out and made some appointments in June we might be further along.
  2. When people are slating the academy and not wanting to use players from it despite it being the backbone of our club since our heavy spending days in the 90s then yeah I think it’s a wind up, just looking for reactions. you are demanding better by not wanting us to use our academy? I’d love some logic for that! promotion is the standard based on what? 10 years of mid table finishes and 1 relegation? People like me are willing to give this new process a chance because it might lay the foundations for us challenging at the right end of the table so yeah if it was adkins I would be fuming because I would believe we had no direction or game plan. There is a clear direction and structure in place and I for one am happy to give them time to see how they get on before running to ewood with pitchforks after 4 weeks and zero games played which you seem to want to do.
  3. What sort of post is this! You must be doing it on purpose to wind people up. we spend millions of pounds a year on our academy, I hope with that outlay we would have a core from our academy as part of any successful team we have. Ironic really considering two of the key players you keep crying about us losing lenihan and nyambe were academy products! add carter to the list of people you’ve written off before a balls been kicked. The lad is 21 give him a chance FFS
  4. Nothing quite like writing people off before a balls even been kicked! And he’s not a rookie manager so that is a nonsense comment. I am as frustrated as anyone about the lack of transfer activity but you don’t hire a new DOF and reset your football structure to be successful in one summer it’s putting things in place to be successful over a longer period.
  5. Honestly I think some people on this site live in dreamland, Southampton bid 16m for Delap earlier this window and it was rejected! people just chucking around names and figures with no logic then get angry with rovers a few days later when nothings happened.
  6. I’m happy to trust the process at this point and I understand things take time but for all the talk it doesn’t seem like we are close to anything and unfortunately at this point our squad is well short. If our only signing is brittain before next Saturday we are behind the game in my opinion
  7. Not to be a Debbie downer but with all the positive talk on here of the super team we are creating are we even close to anything happening? seems like styles is off elsewhere, the loan move has fallen through, van hecke is nothing but hopefully speculation on here and we’ve not even bid for Bowler?
  8. No harm in acting with a bit of class with small comments like this. if we brought bowler and styles in that would be a great start to JDT revolution!
  9. I was just going on rich sharpes view that we will only sign 1 centre mid to replace rothwell, so assume this is the 1 centre mid.
  10. We can’t afford to do that though because he’ll just leave on a free. He can pre-sign for a foreign club in January for nothing! We can’t afford to keep missing out on multi million pound sales.
  11. Presume that means styles isn’t happening? Rich Sharpe suggested we’d be replacing the main departures with new signings and using academy lads for the fringe players. So in his view only signing 1 centre mid, I’d rather Styles on a permanent then another Liverpool youngster on loan.
  12. The other thing going against Dack is a new manager. JDT is judging everyone on a clean slate with no bias towards what they’ve done previously. If Mowbray was still in charge I’m sure Dack would get given every opportunity because of their relationship.
  13. Just been doing some reading up on posh fans views on smzodics. General opinion is he’s a bit hot and cold in front of goal and excellent at league 1 level but not stepped up at championship. He gives 100% every game and has loads of energy and excellent at pressing. Sounds like he’s been identified to play the high press high tempo football JDT has talked about. I do wonder where that leaves Dack sounds like he might not have the engine or mobility anymore to play how JDT wants.
  14. It’s a fair enough thing to moan about this, before venkys we never made a bad signing ever in the history of the club 🙄🙄
  15. But that is literally our market? Young players with potential from lower leagues that are keen to come and prove themselves with wages within our structure and potential sell on value? I do not see an issue with this at all and seems a sensible tactic. Much rather that then going after people on 60k a week that will never come to us! prem teams sign players from the championship all the time doesn’t mean they are not improving.
  16. Agree with all this, hopefully with Broughton we will be a bit more pro active with current players contracts outside of brereton as I assume he’ll fall into the 3 mentioned bracket! Interesting that brittain said in his video he’d been stressing about the move getting done for a few weeks and the first any of us heard about it was yesterday! Hopefully means a few more a lot closer then we know.
  17. Not for me Poveda, we are pretty well stocked in wide players and I’d rather see Dolan and Markanday get the minutes to see what they can do. We need to address centre mid and centre back with our budget as a priority in my opinion.
  18. I think the majority of people on here, myself included are excited because it means the ball is rolling. The story came out yesterday and sounds like he will be announced today so there is clearly lots more going on than any of us on here know about behind the scenes. The fact it’s a permanent and we’ve spent some money is another thing to be positive about. I think you are being unfair calling it a shit show, there’s an entire new structure in place at the club which might work it might not but I’m willing to give them a few windows and the manager a couple of seasons before I go into melt down! If you don’t have hope as a football fan then genuinely what is the point?
  19. Genuinely don’t understand comments like this? It’s like you are purposefully looking for a reason to moan! He might end up being a good signing he might not, at the end of the day there is a risk with every signing! I do not get the point about him being relegated, most relegated clubs lose their better players back to the division they were relegated from, you can have good players in bad teams! personally just seeing us making some moves and spending some money is a positive because at one point I was concerned the new DOF did not know how to complete a transfer (touch wood as nothing confirmed yet)!
  20. I genuinely don’t understand this obsession with wanting an interview with Broughton at this point? All that would happen is he’d say we missed out on key targets, money is there, we are looking at quality etc then everyone on here would just moan about what he said in the interview and accuse him of saying the same old stuff!! We need results not interviews and I currently have no faith in this new model to deliver. I was fully prepared to give them all the benefits of the doubt but the nyambe situation has lost my good will. Assuming he goes to Wigan that means that at best we let a solid right back leave for free with no replacement set up or at worst we can’t even compete financially with newly promoted Wigan which means we are in big trouble.
