We didn't create any chances? -

I actually think we're playing quite well, attacking positively but lacking class in the final third. Certainly no worse than Norwich, when everyone was really pleased. We're just down to a quality finish, shit happens. -

Just imagine if Gally had missed that -

One reason why Hedges is more often than not our most influential attacking player. -

Seriously? Nobody else squares an incredibly simple 10 yard pass for their teammate to score? -

I like Dack and hope he continues to do well, but the fawning on here over a simple square ball is embarrassing. BTW it was great to finally see a forward whose touch is good enough to hold up the ball successfully in Markanday -

Definitely. He's had a lot of the ball, but that's not the same as playing well. Always seems to look for the fancy touch or the Hollywood through ball rather than anything straightforward. -

I think it's fair to say this team is currently over achieving. We can all see the limitations in key positions, so why would you think that JDT can't? I just can't understand the insistent clamour to sack a manager who has, so far, exceeded expectations, without giving him the opportunity of at least one (and, realistically, two or three) transfer windows to correct the obvious weaknesses. -

So you think we should be decisive by sacking a manager that by, your own implicit admission, is currently exceeding pre-season expectations? -

What is interesting about it? Did you, honestly, expect us to finish above Norwich as of the start of this season? -

Fair enough, although I thought the discussion here was generally robust enough to cope. There are certainly plenty of strong (if wrong) opinions. -

Was my post deleted for calling the more delusional amongst us nutters? I think it was more than justified given the disparity between where we are and where anyone expected us to be this season given the loss of players and change of manager. JDT will need at least 2 or 3 windows to sort out this team and play a side he actually believes in. -

He's like Buckley squared in terms of looking like he doesn't give a shit. An obviously talented player on his day, but a midfield of him and Morton is ridiculously lightweight. -

You might disagree with him, you might not enjoy watching it, but whilst it continues to work (12 games and counting) I'm not sure you can criticise it as a tactical choice. -

What, exactly, was "rubbish" about that performance? We controlled the game in an attacking sense for an hour, should have had a couple more goals, then made a conscious tactical change to sit deeper and defend our lead for the last half hour which worked beautifully as we didn't give up a chance. -

We utterly controlled the first half and 15 mins of the second half with confident, attractive, possession and should really have had at least one more goal. For the last half hour we did what we always do in this situation, which is drop deeper and tighten up. It doesn't make for comfortable viewing but is a clear policy and is working so far. I honestly don't know what game some of you are watching to warrant such relentless negativity. -

It isn't to do with whether the ball is played backwards, it's whether you're ahead of the ball when it's played. It's entirely possible (but unusual) to be offside to a ball played backwards, e.g. if you're ahead of the ball but run back to retrieve it. And it is not possible to be ahead of the ball when a corner is taken. On the inverted full backs thing, are we maybe over thinking it a bit? Could it not just be that Pickering was out of contention and Brittain is happier on the left than Hedges?
