  1. Do you think they schedule matches at various times so they get international exposure? Seems quite a lot of planning without considering international time zones!
  2. Agree. A strong win but we will concede sadly. Can't see a clean sheet with pears in goal
  3. Ticket sales = clubs earn money TV contracts = TV companies etc earn money (+ clubs get guaranteed but less income) Can see why there is so much pressure on the EFL from these TV companies to get as many games as possible. Fans need their clubs to be strong and stand up for their fans, need strong ownership and clubs that care about the fans... I can only imagine our owners priorities but weighing in with these conversations with EFL about TV deal perhaps not their most pressing issue...
  4. Groin injury it seems. Able to start for palace but not for u21s. Didn't realise he was "dropped" from carsley's England set up.
  5. Why is he seemingly unfit?
  6. Any fans watching from abroad? We are in Corfu for the week so going to find a bar to watch it from here. Will be wearing the rovers shirt all day so hopefully find some other fellow rovers fans although the missus was not best pleased when I told her on the flight that we'd be searching for a bar to watch the game tomorrow haha
  7. "Ben Brereton Diaz extends his record of 19 Premier League games without winning any... " BBC Seems a bit harsh that !
  8. Great for his confidence. Get in lad. He's one of our own (for now)
  9. Agreed. Payback is on too. We go up and we MUST keep our lead..no conceding.
  10. I guess /my understanding is that it's like this- Manager - fergy, Wenger, pep etc have overall decision about recruitment who they want who they see as a fit for the squad and the club. Gets to identify players and chose who they want in the squad. Coach - slot, potter, Ange p etc Given players by the recruitment team headed up by director of football or another title and the coach literally coaches the players, has some input but doesn't pick the players to recruit but reviews and agrees/deals with what's presented. This role picks the team and runs the overall drills for the training with a team of coaches around them. I think from reading whats happened recently, my interpretation is that them lot had that director/coach model and it didn't go to plan with greg/jdt so they changed it to Rudy/JE (eventually, as obviously JE came first). JE is a coach/head coach but not "manager" in the sense of daily operations of the club and decision making around anything outside of the squad.
  11. Exactly! Do the job of coaching the football squad. (Them lot will " do the rest" ) He's doing a good job so far. Kept us in the league and now unbeaten so he will get some interest (especially from the manager merrygoround owners at Southampton)
  12. That is a great article about Phil Jones. Reading it you can't help but feel for the fella but that's not what this thread is about. BBD made a decision. Left the club. Has done financially well and has made progress in his career. I loved him at Rovers and he did well throughout parts of his Rovers career but the club didn't cash in on him when they could have and he ran his deal down and moved on to different things. Who knows about his mental health but who would have said it would have been any better if he signed on a new deal at Rovers and then got injured- we would never know.
  13. Exactly. Even arsenal aren't playing that way anymore. They buy physically big players and use corners, long balls and avoid tippy tappy more than often because they know that's not the way to win games. Will be interesting to see how this evolves. I don't think our lot would fight to keep JE as the new structure appears that he isn't integral to the running of the club, he's the coach and therefore likely deemed replacable.
  14. Hahaha it's scary isn't it. You think these guys are still potential kids then it turns out they are no longer potential or kids!!
  15. Duane Holmes and Patrick Bauer Both off injured tonight.. They shouldn't be playing at the weekend then
  16. Hahah Yuki is going to be even more motivated!! He'll love that dedication Great work fellas
  17. Oh of course. It's a grim place but the occasion will be wonderful. 5000+ rovers army behind our unbeaten squad. Will be great
  18. Compare him to Gally then let's talk. Would like to see some stats to back this up
  19. Great news.. going to be a wonderful occasion
  20. Cheers. Seems a new thing for rovers to be posting post match interviews directly to YouTube after the game..glad someone at the club has noticed what everyone else has been doing!
  21. Indeed they do. Come on rovers. This makes up for the game down here last season. Great win lads
  22. Yes exactly.Very excited about this talent..our squad is actually really exciting this season..can't wait for the Bristol match!!
  23. Love this from Garett. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/24558498.blackburns-garrett-opens-honest-john-eustace-talks/ "I got Young Player of the Year last year which has brought me a lot of confidence for this season but I feel like this season I want 30 games minimum. I know what goals I've set myself and at the end of the day it's how I progress and that's when I'm on the pitch and playing 90 minutes." So glad he chose to drop a league and get experience and regular mins. Equally pleased as I live close to Bristol rovers (the gas!) stadium so get to see him a lot this season which is great.
  24. This is great. It needs it's own locked thread so it doesn't get lost on the pages and we can see your updates weekly and compare/track. Great effort
