Jon Dahl Tomasson - no longer Sweden coach
NeilInBristol replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
if you think about it, JE was unattached, earning nothing. this is a great gig. he gets paid if he leaves just like JDT left, with the above grenade or not, he will have increased his stock and worth as he has added another club to his job history and he gets the bonus of blaming the useless owners who didnt invest. win win its a poisoned challice for a rovers fan but a great gig for an unemployed coach, win win -

Even if this is BS. Any negative press articles or negative attention on the owners is only a good thing. -

Haha maybe it's proper "gas " fans who refer to them as gas, who knows. I've been to a couple of games there as I live fairly close to the stadium and apart from seeing a board at the stadium saying welcome to the gas or something I've not experienced anyone refer to them as gas. I've asked a fellow dog walker this morning and he said their nickname is pirates but explained why the gas reference but even he didn't refer to them as gas fans. Haha ah well -

Oh definitely mate. It's a shit show. They haven't got the same priorities as us fans sadly. We have to put up with the dross of the inevitable secretarial issues in transfer windows because they won't buy players to help the club but the will sell our youth -

Haha presume you watched the documentary and got that sense from the Egg too. It's a long road ahead. The club has it's priorities which involves developing youth through the academy, giving them game time and selling them on. Survival in the championship is the way to manage the cat 1 status so that's what they will go for. -

If anyone hasn't yet seen this I would recommend. From before JDTs departure. GBs interview alongside the head of academy is fascinating. Undertones of "when JDT leaves" the new coach has to work under this framework of football we have set up. -
Yeh he is so consistent in the u21s. Any noise around him joining up with the first team?

Lol. Technically it's the pirates but the only pirates I've seen near the Mem are students on a pub crawl -

On paper and on the boards outside the game but people don't actually say the gas here. That is a weird thing to say these days. We joked about it in the park the other day actually when walking the dog as I was wearing my rovers scarf and a guy was wearing his Bristol rovers scarf -
Totally agree. We've missed these 3 for such a big part of the season. If they all stay fit we will be scoring a few more goals which is what we have been missing. As long as we score one more than the opposition we will be fine. Hahah nice set of stats there mate haha Yep well underrated

I agree. Also living here in Bristol, especially this close to Bristol rovers, I find myself correcting folk all the time when I tell them I'm a rovers fan, so I often refer to being a Blackburn fan. It gets more confusing as Bristol rovers are blue and white and our scarfs look similar. I do hope we never have to play eachother in league 1 -

I think he was basically suggesting he isn't interested or going to refer to the owners, money spent, politics, project changing, summer, transfers, sales, taxes or India..he is only going to "focus on the pitch" Yes John, let's see how that pans out in September. I bet you won't be just focussing on the pitch then. These owners will make you want to connect with the fans about how poorly run the club is. -
Oh mate I remember that. We had a good away fan turn out but we missed you lot. There was a lot of chat about that at the game before kick off and the chaps at the turnstiles said they would keep it open because they knew( everyone knew as it was a big deal on that day) scumbags though. It's worth getting there early as there is a good away friendly pub near the stadium a few mins walk away. Enjoy the game lads. Hopefully a good turnout and a good win!!!

Cheers..I don't use twitter either so always hopeful someone finds and shares the link. It's changed a lot recently and now I cant event search on it like I used to be able to without having an account. But annoying! Hopefully the LT article covered most of what he said. Big game tomorrow, hope he gets one over on the brum
