Yeh I thought so too but then why buy players? Like why do they spend money ? It seems to make no sense- we could easily bob around with freebies or loans or just renew a contract here or there but to buy a few players for over a £1m each doesn’t seem to fit the notion unless they want us to survive and potentially make money off these players? Like are they hoping we unearth some one who will be sold for a few mill?

I don’t understand why we are spending money, even £2m on players if our ambition as a club is to not stay up- some clubs don’t spend anything and we do- it is a bit baffling- we buy these random players, are they on low wages? Do we have a strategy as a club?

Yeh and he father was a great striker so he’s got some good influence around him- hopefully he follows his father and progresses more like erling did

It’s true id be happy if he gets 20 goals for us this season we will sell everyone under this leadership so I accept that but if he gets 20 goals at least it gives us something to enjoy, unlike yesterday

No that we can’t control-that’s a fixture list issue what we (our club) can control is how we set up ourselves in the summer training transfers operations structure and plan for the club coaching attract players with quality and desire galvanise that desire etc

You look at how Birmingham had the nerve to keep playing with desire and never give up even until 90+8 and this is a squad that has just been promoted and you see our collective of players who are not a team and have no leadership and you understand that it’s not the players fault but the lack of direction of the club over all it’s a sad state for us

Should be a rule for all efl clubs to really encourage full turn outs and support clubs they should use the prize money to pay for stuff like this

Agreed entirely this is an income generating competition each round potentially =£ our players need mins together especially after watching the new ones yesterday we are Rovers we should be going for this competition

It was not top 10 performance or even top 15 first game of the season the lads should be roaring to go and be fully committed - no excuses, some of them just aren’t championship standards (?? Sure a couple of decent challenges and attempts but it was definitely below quality from last year and the year before we have had some serious downgrades Agree though- let’s see how it unfolds in the next couple of weeks and September when the window closes and we will see who is left too

Awful day of football from our end- some of these new signings look atrocious for this level(sorry chaps !) least the sun was shining and it’s not a long drive home but that wasn’t a great start. I just saw VIs comments about Trav- he will be off for sure- he may not have asked to not play but he isn’t going to be convinced by some of these new lads who are so inexperienced at this level onwards and upwards I hope
