What happened with Eustace and Parker at the end? Swansea equalised against West Brom

Absolutely gutted. But still really proud of the team. Obvious gap in quality (and finances!) but we worked hard for each other and showed some fight. I still believe a couple of additions and we could push on. Devastated.

If there is limited (any?) money to spend, I’d keep Garrett as backup with Travis injured. I actually think he would be more of a Eustace player than Buckley. Maybe O’Riordan too. Concentrate then on attacking areas.

I don’t want to win by a dodgy decision. I want to win through skill and hard work. Don’t want any ‘but you wouldn’t have won if…’ Please Rovers, get the win, but whatever happens show real (controlled) passion. Looking forward to the match but nervous! Really hope Cantwell is fully fit. Him, Hedges and Dolan, with Leonard up top - whilst he didn’t show too much against Leeds he did some good defensive work, and hopefully with Cantwell behind him, he can find some space. Gally also has a lot longer in the Championship. Mak has only just joined. I’m not saying he will suddenly start banging them in from all over the place, but I would be surprised if he didn’t match Gally’s goals with time. On the team setup - it would be nice to have that defensive solidity and a real attacking threat but unfortunately we don’t have the players for that at the moment. ACD brings something a little different but leaves us more exposed. Hopefully whoever we bring in for wide left, will have the work rate of a Dolan but with pace and more end product!

He was great today. Lots of communicating and organising the defence; making sure they were in the right positions.

Apart from a few bits of space on the right side, the defence looks good. Please keep it up in the second half. Baker looks determined to get himself into trouble. Hope Ohashi is ok! I’d give JRC a go instead of Baker.

I hope we have corrected some of the defensive mistakes from the last couple of games. We have been so solid, so to be carved open so easily twice by Sunderland and then for Hull to have so much space for their goal is worrying me, especially against a strong Leeds side. Hopefully we can keep it tight and be hard to beat. Team selection needs to be spot on.

Results like this are why Eustace keeps talking about sticking with them when things aren’t going our way. We are in a position none of us expected and had a fabulous run. We lost 3 on the bounce before and then won 6 on the bounce. This league is difficult, particularly with a squad our size. Listening to Eustace talking post match, his assessment is spot on and I really believe he will challenge the players to up their game and ‘be the man’. I didn’t expect us to be pushing for promotion pre season but I do believe with a couple of shrewd additions we could be up there. Need a better replacement / cover for injuries in the middle of the park, as well as the obvious striker and left sided midfielder. If not, I think we will fall away and end up mid table. I would have taken that at the start of the season but seems a shame after the way we have started.

I agree. Like the look of it but a brave call to drop Dolan and Hedges (even with their limitations), with Cantwell missing too. I trust the manager so hopefully it will work out well, or he’ll change it if not.

They are two fantastic results. Puts us in a really nice position. If the owners aren’t willing to put money into the team, then I would try and move Buckley and Gueye (already I know) on. If Travis or Tronstad have an extended time out, then I think we are in trouble. Buckley isn’t good enough. If we can then add a winger with some real quality, then I think we can really push on.

If we look at similar games over the last couple of seasons, I think we are probably around 4 points better off. Then about 5 points better off than this time last season. I’ll absolutely take that at the moment, especially the seemingly improved resilience. I am however hopeful that Cantwell gets up to speed soon, I especially haven’t been impressed with Baker so far but it’s early days.

We were poor today but we have had a great start to the season. It’s not going to be great every week. I am taking the positives from that, that we still seem very difficult to beat, even during our worst performance.
