  1. Question marks around attitude etc are warranted and valid. However, in terms of actual footballing quality, Cantwell and Dembele are both better than what are currently in the building. Whether we see it I guess is a different matter, as is the case with all transfers. Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard but both are ones I’d like to see happen personally.
  2. Put some ranges on it just because different sources quote different amounts and have add ons etc: Adam Warton £18-22million Szmodics £9-11million Phillips £2-3million Gallagher £1.5-2.5million Wahlstedt £1million Kaminski £3-4million Raya (I think) circa £4million? Thats the big ones, add in nominal fees like £500k for Ennis, a couple of 100k for Gent, Telalovic etc and you’re well over that £41million mark.
  3. this would be a very logical approach to take… so no chance 🤣
  4. How can some on here not see the issue… £41 million banked (yes, it is banked), and of the signings we’ve made so far, including Beck, TWO will be here come July 1st next year? Add in a loan goalkeeper and that means that we’ll have to do the exact same thing again next year. Weimann, Batth, McFadzean, Beck and the Goalkeeper will all be off or sent back to their parent clubs and we’ll have to do this whole thing again. We want to build a club slowly for the future is the line consistently used by the wankers who run the club, we want to buy low and sell high they tell us. None of our signings represent any sort of resale value whatsoever on paper. It’s a rudderless ship, no matter who the manager is or who calls themselves DoF. The buck falls with two men, the CEO and his hiding in the shadows sidekick. The can has been kicked into next summer where we’ll hear the same thing, ‘oh all the money has gone into wages and infrastructure’ whilst Carter is sold for half his ‘market value’ and Dolan leaves on a free (nobody should actually be too arsed about that) If that outlook makes me negative or a moaner then so be it, I’d rather that than be so out of touch with reality as some on here and social media!
  5. If you had £2k on your credit card £400, you might look to pay some of that debt off, however you might not if you looked in the fridge and saw fuck all in there 🤣 I’m not saying to spend £41 million, but you already knew that. We’re nowhere near breaking FFP, but we don’t have a Warton to sell anymore in the next 2 or 3 years. So as a FOOTBALL club the best decision would be to spend some of that free space we have in FFP to buy some FOOTBALL players. Hell, we may even make a profit on them in the future?!?!?!?!?! How else do you, or any of the other put-up-or-shut-up lot expect us to get out of this cycle? Signing loans and freebies means the debt will continue to rise, the playing staff will continue to decrease and we’ll end up in league one… again.
  6. £41 million banked, what feels like 41 back room staff changes, and the best they can come up with for left back cover after 3 fucking months is a Liverpool loanee.
  7. Rumours circling of a loan signing tomorrow. No idea who what where when or why, just seen a few people saying the same thing!
  8. As far as loans go, this wouldn’t be far off top of my list. Superb goalkeeper
  9. Yeah thankfully we’ve had an incredibly easy start to the season. 2 promoted teams at home and Norwich under a new gaffer. I imagine the panic buttons would be getting pressed if we’d had a slightly harder start.
  10. Couldn’t pick a better time to play them. 14 players out for them in the last game, Parker already swinging his dick about dropping players who ‘don’t want to be there’. Horrible feeling that Pears can’t deal with the pressure and we get done 3-0, but I’ve just got that sneaky little feeling that we can turn them over 1-0.
  11. It’s not the model that’s wrong, it’s the modern way of recruitment. It’s like everything at this club, been run by chancers and nob heads so far.
  12. All this talk of the Brentford/Brighton model on this forum but now moaning and think the manager should pick and sanction all deals. The Brighton and Brentford ‘managers’ (first team coaches) have no say on transfers. They don’t have access to the data and insights that the recruitment teams do. We’ve spent all this money on wages for multiple back room recruitment bods and if what unleaded has said is true, who is the only genuine ITKer we have, then it’s pointless. Sack the lot, including Gestede, and let Eustace pick his players like Mowbray did. You can’t have it both ways.
  13. I don’t think he has an aversion. But if he is controlling football transfers, then the back room changes we’ve made are pointless and a waste of money. There’s no need for a director of football for example. He was signed as a head coach, not an old school manager who controls everything about the club. Whether or not you think he should’ve been signed as one of those is a different conversation, but he wasn’t. We’ve spent all this money on a recruitment team and if Eustace’s answer to every target is ‘no, get me my old Birmingham team’ it’s slightly concerning… no?
  14. Depends on their reasons, it doesn’t take much for positivity to be blind stupidity. Some of those people would say ‘meh, it needed renovating anyway’ if Venky’s burned ewood to the ground.
  15. If he’s not a plant, his opinions he tweets aren’t his actual opinions. So whatever that makes him.
  16. Can’t believe it’s possible to hate someone you’ve never met as much as I do Waggott and Venky’s. Couldn’t organise a shag in a monkey whore house with a fistful of bananas. I’m fully convinced waggott writes these pointless statements with a grin on his face knowing he’s pissing people off. He can’t be that out of touch to think that it’s a good idea.
