  1. Suggest you learn what a fact is. You seem to get very gobby on here if anyone questions your thinking. They’re pixels on a screen buddy, it’s not personal.
  2. Then why have a thread at all? It’s an opinion forum for fuck sake. Let’s all just keep our opinions to ourselves on signings, performances, players etc. as the manager knows more than us.
  3. It was an awful ball, however the run was even worse. Dragged his marker into the middle of the pitch (who ended up being the one who intercepted it). Needed to stay wide and leave the space for Cantwell
  4. A side note, whoever is in charge of the speaker system needs sacking, couldn’t hear a bastard thing the people next to me were saying at half time and pre match. Completely killed the atmosphere pre match too.
  5. Their midfield won’t have an easier afternoon, soft as shit. Tear Buckley’s contract up now, the worst player to ever wear our armband.
  6. His competition was Harry Redknapp. I’d probably be shortlisted if we went down the English route again.
  7. All now still (or soon to be) back in the championship! Funny how it all works out isn’t it 😆
  8. Agree on the forwards, however the back 4 and two in front of them are as good as anything in the division, Leeds included. I don’t underestimate it, but there are certain managers who thrive off those sorts of challenges and scenarios. Big Sam was one of them, but he doesn’t get considered for the Man City job does he? Still early in his career, let’s see where we end the season before coming up with the miracle shouts.
  9. I’m happy with Eustace, he brings what we need. I do get a feeling that he’ll be a bit of a middle of the road championship manager in the future though. I’ve obviously no way of proving that other than a gut feel, but get the feeling from him he’ll always be a manager that gets a mid-table team to flirt with the playoffs and not much else. Would be interesting to see how he’d get on at a big spending team.
  10. Refused to play an u21’s game back in November, he’s being left out for disciplinary reasons.
  11. Dream window for me: RB cover, JRC probably the worst footballer we’ve had since our league one squad and Brittain picks up little knocks. Don’t really have a target in mind that isn’t pie in the sky thinking. CB cover, desperately thin on the ground. CM x 2 ideally, Buckley makes us worse when he comes on, Baker’s a yard off it and Travis is out for 2 months. Exploring the foreign markets might be our best shout with this. At least one wide man, pace is required as we’re too one dimensional. A striker who has previously scored goals, even if not currently. Again pace would be ideal. Realistic window: a CB on loan from a prem team a winger on loan on the last day and that’s your lot.
  12. Well known saying in professional football that a CB is only as good as his partner. Batth makes everyone else look good, my POTS so far. On a far greater scale Van Dijk does the same at Liverpool, Konate, Gomez and Matip are all average CB’s for their countries or when playing next to anyone but Van Dijk, when Hill played CB he was caught out of position so many times. Anyway like you said it’s irrelevant as he isn’t coming here.
  13. Not sure I watched the same James Hill for us that everyone else did, we shipped goals for fun whilst he was here
  14. Only really matters if something happens, if we clear it after encroaching then retake, if they score a rebound after encroaching then retake. Anything else is fair game really.
  15. He’s dropped a stinker. Given it away far too much
  16. Leonard’s hiding from it too much, get into the channels Harry
  17. Two biggest observations from today: John Buckley has a 100% record for us, every single time he comes on the pitch we get worse as a team. He’s absolutely shocking. And I remember having this conversation with a lot of friction when JDT was in charge and he had 2 good games in 5 years, but Rankin-Costello wouldn’t get onto Bolton’s bench. When he looked up, saw Weimann offside and then played the pass anyway I got up and left. Not a football brain cell between them.
  18. Says a lot when a window being better than expected means it’s a 9/10 in some people’s views. We should’ve spent more money; however, if we’re not spending money, it’s been probably as good a window as we could’ve had. Still a striker and a centre back light, wonder if we revisit the cooper deal? A very stop-gap window, which is probably understandable due to us not knowing day to day if our owners will pull the plug or not. Unfortunately will need to do it again next year when Weimann, Mcfadz, Batth, Beck, Brighton lad, Baker, Dolan, Hyam(?) are all out of contract.
  19. I don’t disagree, a parent club might. EDIT: they’ll see these players you mention… Sigurdsson scored, Dolan scored, Weimann scored, Hedges scored, even JRC scored… do they fancy him to get in the team?
  20. Depends what you mean by wingers, not to start the number debate off again 🤣 in a 4231 formation your ‘wide’ men of the 3 don’t tend to be the old school 442 winger types. Just another thing to thank pep guardiola for killing. We have Costello, Dolan, Hedges, Sigurdsson, Weimann and the new lad who a parent club might look at and think ‘they’re well stocked in those positions’ rightly or wrongly!
